:O inspiring. I've been wanting to work with latex for a really long time. But couldn't find much on how to work with it, nor very many good places to buy it from. I just want simple black to start with. -3 now I am super eager to try looking again!
Tanks for sharing! I had a go at making stuff and all I managed to make was a little flowing skirt for my wife. I didn't use pattern, didn't take measures (not with a tape measure anyway) but it still came out nice and it fitted wonderfully.
Interesting how the curling of the rubber seems to flatten out by itself again. Mine curled so tight, it got glued to itself. I had to use masking tape to back the glued bits up to prevent curling.
@KiDCaT2000 You don't catch it in the time lapse but there are many a moment of "Wait, am I holding a glue brush or a spoon of ice cream?" It was a long night.
thanks for making this film and sharing it. I am sure it will be very illuminating to a lot of people as to the amount of effort that goes into making a hand made garment, the understanding of the material, the use and effect of tools and substances but especially the amount of time and dedication. And thats all before even going on to mention creativity, ingenuity and imagination of design.
lol - love the kitties "helping" with the whole process - you can't sell them to pay the rent!!
Very envious and anyone that can make good quality latex gear - the few attempts of mine at very small items or repairs usually ends up with things glued to other things that shouldn't be glued together!
@hmonster2001 Don't give up! Making latex gear does take a lot of learning, but if you start with simple stuff to get a sense of success, you'll quickly find yourself empowered to try bigger and cooler projects.
It also helps to work with good sheeting. We sell sheeting at sheetlatex, com that is the best in North America, or if you are in England you can go with radicalrubber, com or fourdrubber, com both are good.
@kinkengineering - Australia here, Western Australia and Perth to be exact. Not sure of the latex scene in New Zealand, but I'd guess it's beween them and us for the furthest reaches on the planet from good Euro or US quality latex.
As for projects - I'll stick to the little projects thanks, glue and I don't get on very well - so much so there's a self imposed ban on me using things like superglue :)
holy crap. i think ill stick to WEARING the latex!

If one of the airbubbles meows, you know you should check for your cats. ;3
Also eating while glueing, NEVER EVER get the wrong thing in your mouth. ;))
Otherwise really neatly done. ^^

@kinkengineering *chuckles* Good that it went all smooth then.
Though, i dont think the glue is that toxic, unpleasent most likely, but not toxic.
