  • 300 bucks??? Screw that. For 300 bucks you could buy like 20 vintage fans and create a tornado instead of just this one fan.

  • James Dyson is not the CEO... That is Martin McCourt

  • Johnson Electrics' brushless motor works without a problem ?

  • whoa, thats pretty cool aye...

but for a rather small 30cm fan you're looking at $400 Australian! For sure they could make it $50 and by the pure volume of sales they'd still make big dollars...

  • What's with all the people railing on the translator? She was doing a great job. She was translating everything just fine, and in most cases WAS saying it pretty concisely (sometimes in Japanese you can say something that would require an entire English sentence, and sometimes it takes quite a lot longer to say something. It depends)

  • James Dyson is a genius!

  • 16:00 It's noisy.

  • the interpreter is terrible!

  • what are you talking about? she's translating perfectly... the guy talks like 3 words at a time which makes it like 10 times harder for the interpreter but she still manages perfectly. I WISH there were more interpreters as good as her!

  • They have them at Universal Studios in Hollywood in the bathrooms right next to the gates. They work really well! :D

  • if he knew that most of jpn house already have at least 1 air-conditioning.

  • 前のデザインのチャンネルがいいです!

  • YOU KNOW why he's smiling.

because mr. dyson obviously speaks her language..he invinted this fan.

    he speaks all languages...dumb zippers.

  • He is smiling because he is a charismatic speaker. Unlike most of the personality-lacking Japanese folks out there.

  • He's very intelligent....and PATIENT!

  • For all of you non-engineer types the fan uses "Impellers" not "blades" in the inital motor.

They are not the same. But the impeller only moves a small amount if air. The majority of the air that moves is due to negative air pressure.

It is not just a blower or a fan with hidden blades.

  • 80%の確立でこれ買うでしょう~?

  • its not bladeless he should just call it air blower

  • this hand dryer is in our theme park here

  • looks neat

  • なんかグチャグチャな説明会ですね。。。

    通訳しょぼいし、だんだん何行ってるのか分からなくなってくる。。

  • is this you're job?! all the things in ur vids r so awsum!

  • i used one of them they're cool

  • oh i saw those at Great America theme park those r cool

  • i think we have these aready in ireland

  • lol he looked like he didnt want that girl to translaate for him xD

  • like "why is she interrupting me? agh!"

  • example:

    my name is jon.

    translation:

orie gato chimake kayaheeta, slamagatti oreigushii yamaveeiesh i...

  • LOL! that's what i was thinking...

  • You saying that for the woman that translates it? lol I hate that woman stoping Games with his demostration...He should have trown the bladeless fan on her face...Stupid woman she should have had some respect with others people conversations...

  • on her face.

he should of put her head through it...since there are no blades.

turned it on and said in a slick british accent.."see here you zipper head....this is how the fan works. now stop your bullshit rambling translation thats not even accurate because i obviously speak chink because im smart and invented this FUCKING SWEET FAN"

  • Yeah, people can clearly see that Games is pissed off...2:59 like he turns around like saying, "Let's hear the annoying woman"...lol

  • 通訳頑張れ!

  • The blade-less fan still has a fan inside :(

I was hoping for some Sci-like microwave technology .. like the microwave guns.. :O but still pretty cool

  • Though only 7% of the air comes from that fan inside, rest is pulled in!

  • with a more steady and constant flow of air pressure and its efficiency, I predict that this will be seen as propulsion for aircraft and other vehicles that use a prop. Maybe we will see an aquatic version of this as well?

  • yaeh dude, a directed air stream for aircraft, we could call it a "dyson prop," or maybe even a "turbo-prop." Rev-O-Fucking-Lutionary.

  • dysons never disappoint

  • all (if not then nearly all) wethaspoons in the uk have these, there fuckin ace... dries your hands so fast

  • I have used one of those hand driers or one VERY much like it at a BC Ferry Terminal in Nanaimo, BC (Canada). It REALLY dries your hands.

  • I still don't get the purpose of most hand dryers you find in bathrooms, they only seem to blow hot air, missing the point that it's supposed to blow the water off not evaporate it.

  • If they do both then its double win.

  • ははは すごくいい日本語の勉強になりました。

  • There are some languages in the world that can say something you can say in english in a quarter of the amount of words. That applies to Japanese too.

  • Surely he ripped off that hand-dryer design from the Japanese. Dryers like that were in Japan years before Dyson "invented" his.

That's probably why he doesnt sell them in Japan!

I'm surprised he had the gall to mention them in his talk.

    fan is excellent though.

  • Were these hand-dryers bladeless like the dyson though?

If they werent then its still a new invention.

  • Neither the fan, or the dryers are bladeless.

The fan has blades in the base unit, and the air is funnelled up to the circle, By which time, it's diffused all the `buffetting' he describes.

He's overstating this `buffetting' problem as a selling point. Nobody ever described a fan and being uncomfortable. And people rarely sit with their face in front of a fan. From a distance the buffetting is dispersed and you dont feel it anyway.

  • Dispite all that, i do think the new fan is great design and engineering. Very cool. i still want one!

  • Comment removed

  • Brilliant idea.

  • Haha, the translator seems to confuse him a lot. :D

  • Comment removed

  • This is a great idea BUT now during summertime how are you going to sit in front of the fan and go a-a-a-a-a-a-a?

  • おぉ。写真は見てましたけど、実際凄そうですね!

    近未来的で他の製品への応用もききそうで素晴らしいです!

    是非生でためしてみたい。

  • Very nice. A hand dryer that really dries your hands?

  • i want one!!

  • OH I my friend told me about this! I was so interested! I think it's a brilliant idea!
