@stokey72 they are black but they dyed their skin white white like me people in europe thought the 4 seasons were black they even sent a black imitation group out performing
Amazing Song.... I bet back then these guys never thought this song would be forever linked to a movie about Jets and fighter pilots. I love this song , I love Top Gun and I always love the F-14!!
Our self-censorship is the thing that kept decency in music. Lawyers eventually made music into what it is today. Bastardized freedom of expression...
Everyone please watch this, if only just once. Listen to these two voices, I want to know if you think * this type * of singing will ever come back ? Is there talent like this still out there ? Should it come back ?
It's such a loss that back...waay back in the days, there were guys who really knew how to sing well. And now days, they're so few and far between. Definately one of the greatest songs ever. There are some songs that just never get old.
Cooler than ice on a polar bears nose!......and from a time when the USA gave the world something meaningful...........what the hell has happened to you since then?
@urbeinghunted its not only us the whole music scenes turned to shit compared to what it was in the day!! the record companies found they could make more money peddlin shit to morons!! music gradually sank from a golden era to an all time low! hopefully it will turn around. but it doesn't look like anytime soon.
Need to remember people, back in those days most singers were older. Now its 13years upt o 25 and then your overs. Cos thats when they start to sing properly... sad. These guys are the best....will never die.
@jagsmokey I think what Fordmanmal was getting at was that the human voice (especially male voices) don't really reach full potential until the mid-20's. In fact, from the ages of 25-35 are the years that the voice develops and changes the most. That's why a lot of younger singers end up ending their careers early; they don't take care of their instrument and by the time they're in their prime, they'd practically destroyed it.
poeple can sing like this today ,, it's assholes like simon cowal that promote the shit we listen to today,,, if someone came to a record company with this kind of music today they would be chased out ,, im sick of rap, and this lady gaga image we are all subjected to,,,,,, music is dead these days! and im only 24.
I saw Bill Medley in Branson Mo. last June. He was awesome. I had the eeriest feeling Bobby Hatfield was there with him...just wishful thinking..Seriously it was a wonderful evening..Thank you Bill (and Bobby) for all of the beautiful songs and memories over the years
There's Bill!!! Happy 70th birthday Bill...Sept.19th, 2010. Anyone heard his beautiful daughter sing? Her name is McKenna Medley and she's fabulous too!!
@MySiddie i couldnt agree anymore with you haha, back then it was real music, not like halfe of the fake trash that is out there these days, think i was born in the wrong music era haha, wot an classic song by the way :)
great song awesome group. It's funny when i first heard about them many years ago, i thought they were soulful black singers, i didnt realize until later that they are talented white boys w/ incredible voices.
Well I'll tell you, and I don't know how many people are aware of this, one night the R. Brothers were performing @ a black club when someone from the crowd yelled "he man that's "righteous."
Thus, the birth of The Righteous, as well black djs in the 50's began to the call them "The Blue Eyed Soul Brothers"
However the very first white band ever to hit number 1 on the r&b charts was The Skyliners with "Since I Don't Have You.
@rugbyss08 Yes they were white, and they could just sing their white asses off. I love this song and the group.Boy if we could only go back to those days.
Thank U MOM for turnin me on to these guys back in the day...still throw a lil rightous in the cd player ever once in awhile and to the people that ask why im i jam'n to them, i will make it simple KISS MY ASS!
love it
