One has to be crazy NOT to like Admiral Cain! I think Michelle Forbes is just awesome. Actually I am Tricia Helfer super-fan, but I have to admit that Michelle Forbes probably makes the best appearance on BSG out of the whole cast. And she is gorgeous :)

No, Cain is a hateful bitch who the Roslin airlock treatment is too good for. The only reason that she's well-liked is because she's a woman. That's it. I wonder how many people would dismiss or excuse her actions if she had remained a man (like the oBSG Commander Cain she was based on).
It's not about being a woman or a man. Cain is strong and she wants the best for her people. She makes some rather controversial decisions and she loves Gina whose betrayal is too big for Cain to handle, that's why she acts the way she acts. And the truth is that Helena Cain simply kicks ass. After Number 6 my favorite charachter :)
P.S. I just love when Gina is aiming at Cain and she can't kill her :).
Euh no, she makes outright terrible choices comperable to that of a dictator. She's the evidence that proves that women can be just as terrible and evil as men when in charge. One of the best moments on the show, when Gina got her revenge.
Yes, but remember that Adama wanted to do the same thing at the beginning. He wanted to leave the fleet and fight the Cylons. Cain didn't have Roslin to calm her down. And yes, I agree that what she'd done with the survivors was terrible but she cared only about her ship and her crew. Those were the most important things for her.
P.S. I love when Gina kills Cain. Everytime I watch it I have a goose flesh :)
Agreed, but Adama even said that his son,Roslin and his right hand man are all reponsible for keeping him grounded. they are his strength, even so that doesn't excuse Cain. It's herself she cares most about, she abondended her little sis, granted she was young but it demonstrated her lack of inner-strength. And one of the reason she was so hard on Gina was perhaps because her heart was hurt after the betrayel. All of these are just excuses, at the end of the day she's simply not good enough.
I agree women can be just as evil as ma=en when in charge if not more. I think that was what the producers of BsG were trying to show with Cain. It was also like a reflection on what Galactica/Adama may have been like if they had been left alone to begin with. Cain I believe personally was a great character and hoping that maybe there will be BSG movies based around it and Galactica.

I have to watch Pegasus/Res Ships again. That scene where Cain's taking off her uniform... GUH. Kind of interesting that Gina appeared exactly at that moment. Heee.
yeah i am going to continue. Problem is I am a high school senior finishing up this last week of classes and whatever finals I need to take the following week. After that I will have plenty of time. I am going to try to get more of the Sacrifice arc written tonight...hopefully...
