Simon, that was educational for me, as I teach students . I work on the whell also besides hand building. I learned from you how to make a box on the wheel. Check out my You Tube Video, How to make a heritage box, its fun>
Hi Simon,That came out really nice, I'll have to turn the AC on in my studio and try that. Temperatures here are discusting around 97 to 100 degrees. so much for warm regards from Florida huh!!!!
I make these in a similar fashion, but using a small rounded modeling stick to cut a gallery into the closed pot before cutting off the top. I have a problem glazing them tho and quite a few ended up with a 'glazed-on' lid. Wondering how you glaze your's?
Thanks Simon! I have been making bird houses and bird feeders this way. but i wait till the clay is leather hard to make openings for the birds. Now i will have to try the covered box !!!
nice

I like the philosophical chat. It inspires me almost as much as the projects. Cool closed piece.

Thank you Simon.
Thoses boxes are very nice (chouettes!).
I run in my studio to try that, after clicking on the banner ads, of course.
I'll send you a picture of them if they are not "trop moches"...
