I want to major in chemical engineer but I dont know anything about it :( Should I pursue my dream or think about another major? I was hoping u could help cause Im lost and dont know what I should do. Thanks!!!
the best thing to do is talk to some professors in the field. you could also take a tour of a chemical plant to get a feel of the work environment. good luck!
im going into 3rd year chemical engineering during the fall. i've seen what they've done at the plant when i worked for an oil company, and i was almost convinced that i was studying the wrong major (mostly because of the smell). also if we have to work in plants, most of the jobs are at remote locations.. i'm just not sure which industries involve more planning/drafting more than plant operating?

do all chemical engineers work at chemical plants or do they all indirectly run it in the office?

some work in plants directly, and others work in offices doing more planning and drafting.

If you need something to dispose of a hazardous substance remotely, this would come in handy.
