i totally find it odd looking back at old clips of Cena.. back then there was no "Cena sucks" or 50/50 audience split. The crowd(s) were totally behind him 100%.

Cena pretty much killed his career when he dropped the Thuganomics gimmick. The Marine was not so good & the audience did not relate to him.

The he developed the "5 moves" of doom, he didn't have that during his rapper gimmick.

Ironically it was the thug gimmick that got him his popularity in the first place. Cena is a big reason i'm annoyed with HHH he has too much influence backstage, and guys of his era are out of touch as punk says.
