hey woody, what's happening with your connection when you see people a half second after they actually should have been seen. consistently evidenced by the kill cam. I will be shooting someone, then i die and the kill cam would show that my opponent is seeing my bullets go wide left or right (and if they're strafing, i might as well just stop shooting). what is the fix for this, should i just get a better connection or what? please answer woody, and others as well! thanks
everybody , easy!.i broke 6 controllers, smashed them to the wall almost punched the ps3 (i am an ex-boxer so i chilled.controllers are easier to replace) because of dying from corners campers emptying a clip and getting knife ... shit like that . i have a good internet , and i used to turn off my wi fi of the laptop everytime. so i decided to do opposite . i turned on the wi fi , opened u tube on my browser, picked a 2 hour clip and guess what happened. my first MOAB.in 2 hours 6 moab...
@FPSManInTheWall your right, its just a broken ass game being hosted on broken ass servers. I suppose when you can connect to a server for more than 5 minutes the game play is relatively lag free...

It was just so hard to copy and paste the same net setup as MW2 since they copied everything else from MW2. Games been shelved for over a month now, lag compensation absolutely killed the game for me and Ive had every COD since 1. I love you COD but your time has come and gone:(

Activision are trying to make money off us - next thing you know they will make us pay to get the lag compensation fixed, beacuse hosently, Activision limits what Infinity ward can do. My KD actually skyrocketed about after this time. I went from like, a 0.07 KDR to, what I'm up to now, is 0.907. I'm pretty proud of it. Considering the fact I did terrible before this patch. it's working for me. I'm glad they addressed this problem, because every CoD game has lag.
I played a few games and with the 100kbps fix I wasn't getting killed by one bullet in the killcam. I do well but I was doing better cause people weren't eating my bullets. So let people know if the fix works for you.
some kid on some other lag compensation video said to go into your router settings, and adjust your QoS settings to 100kbps. I'm going to try it and hopefully it will work.
ill tell yous how to tell if lagcomp is ruining your game. Use a single shot weapon when confronting enemy and count how many shots you fire. WATCH KILLCAM if you die. Count how many shots came out during killcam. If less came out during killcam you know lagcomp is ruining your game experience too! It happens to me almost every game!
I live in Japan and play on PS3; standard internet is really good, I guess, because usually everyone has four bars. I still suck, so I probably don't notice as much, but I don't really notice any of this game-ruining lag compensation that everyone is talking about.

I have a two bar and i'll shoot a guy as soon as a guy come a round and ill hit him with one bullet before he kills me , then i watch the kill cam and it shows that i shoot him like three seconds after he came around the cornor when really i shot him alot sooner

the whole thing about lag compensation is stupid. i see nothing wrong with host have a little bit better advantage so he wont be pissed, leave, switch host, and ruin game play. compensate all bad connection non-host players, what for? you are not host with bad connection, then get a better connection. read my lips, one person you dont want to pissed off in match is host, because he will leave. then game will switch to next host which he will be pissed off and leave. rinse repeat

@ProIcberg12 frameskip is different then lag compensation. The ps3 has a ported version because its easier to make on the xbox. In short the developers don't care about us ps3 users.
How can it be 'fair' when someone has a red dot for a signal, I have 4 bars and yet I can't even get a hit marker never mind a kill. I watch the replay and guess what? According to the replay I HAVEN'T EVEN STARTED SHOOTING! As for split screeners... well, what can I say. I jump out of the lobby and get in another. Split screeners should not be able to play in the same lobbies as they give us the same problems.

Lag compensation in MW3 is good. The lag reduction in MW3 is exceptionally better than it was in previous CODs. I'm a good player, not great, but I'm not bad. When I play MW3 I do good! Consistently I can do well. A couple days ago I went back to Black Ops. It was horrible. I was getting absolutely owned because of my connection. I think that everyone who is used to having "God Connection" up until now has to stop complaining and realize that they have to get used to not having a huge advantage.
I have an interesting observation. To start with i have a beast connection. If i play MP on my own 1.07 patch fixes all lag problems. But if am in a party all the problems return

To Be Honest Woody it doesnt help. I got the game kinda late like 3 weeks i think and I had a constant 3-4 bar which is what is always is in every other game. But after this update i had 1-2 bar and it just sucks. Everyone is saying its me when its really not. I have a good connection and this compesation not only punishs the host but it punishs a lot of other people and im talking about the people with good connection and bad connection. If they wanna make it equal they should dedicate servers

they fixed lag compensation and when i get into games a lot of ppl have 4 bars but i still lag, sometimes the game will freeze a lot on me and i bring up the scoreboard and it says i have 4 bars but it feels like 2 bars. WTF INFINITYWARD!!!!!!

the whole thing about lag compensation is stupid. i see nothing wrong with host have a little bit better advantage so he wont be pissed, leave, switch host, and ruin game play. compensate all bad connection non-host players, what for? you are not host with bad connection, then get a better connection. read my lips, one person you dont want to pissed off in match is host, because he will leave. then game will switch to next host which he will be pissed off and leave. rinse repeat

IW did NOT come up with lag comp. it was started in Black Ops when Sledgehammer gaming took over the multiplayer. Don't defend this series ending pratice... black ops was bad this is worse if that's possible.

How can it be 'fair' when someone has a red dot for a signal, I have 4 bars and yet I can't even get a hit marker never mind a kill. I watch the replay and guess what? According to the replay I HAVEN'T EVEN STARTED SHOOTING! As for split screeners... well, what can I say. I jump out of the lobby and get in another. Split screeners should not be able to play in the same lobbies as they give us the same problems.

I really wish they would just do whatever was done in MW2. At least in that you only had issues killing the host not EVERYONE like in MW3.

Lag compensation in MW3 is good. The lag reduction in MW3 is exceptionally better than it was in previous CODs. I'm a good player, not great, but I'm not bad. When I play MW3 I do good! Consistently I can do well. A couple days ago I went back to Black Ops. It was horrible. I was getting absolutely owned because of my connection. I think that everyone who is used to having "God Connection" up until now has to stop complaining and realize that they have to get used to not having a huge advantage.

Whatever the hell they did made it so much worse, my KD was 2.50 and literally EVERY game I've played since this patch was terrible, my KD went down to 1.97..... And I have over 15k kills so it wasn't a couple of games that ruined it. I can barely get any kills now, like my bullets are rubber.
