they are equivalent, ASUS is more recent, but Gigabyte is better for overclockin and its better designed. Im going for the Gigabyte!

Why would you spend that much on hard drive and GPU when you could get better motherboard to overclock and a GTX 280 which would be a better build, but never mind its a great PC, have fun...

He needs that many because he has loads of films, games and apps he has to store. And the GTX 295 is great for higher resolutions and more AA filtering, also it is more future proof. Thanks

Did you need any tweaking when you put your dominator 1600 on the UD5 because i'm getting the same mobo and i want dominator because it's fast and it's quality but i don't know if you need to tweak specs to add it in there. Reply

Yes, one thing, you must put the sticks in the 2, 4 and 6 slots instead of the 1, 3 and 5 slots.

It did not post in 1, 3 and 5

Other than that working fine

So you didn't have to tweak the bios or anything like that just put it in slots 2, 4 and 6 and it works on first boot no problems? Sorry i'm being picky and asking questions i just need to make sure the dominator 1600 is going to work.

Yep the Corsair Dominator 1600Mhz (no worries, better to be safe than sorry) you can;t mix it up with the GT version because they are like £300!

Another question,

I asked another person who posted his video with the ud5 mobo and they told me when they put in their 1600MHZ ram in 1-3-5 it did't boot (so i believe you now 100%) but what he told me was that when you put it in 2-4-6 it boots but the ram is set at 1066MHZ and you manually have to set it to 1600MHZ is this true can you confirm this?

Yes you need to manually set it, just like most Ram I have ever used.
