BTW i have avast it alerts right when you type in the url itll block any virus-giving applications. It detects trojans 6 times outta 10 i almost got a trojan then all the sudden ding ding ding trojan detected

i have VISTA! and if a virus trys to run something the pc will ask you if you would like to do the following action. and it tells you what action has been started. so i think vista is better. and yes i had xp. i downloaded one thing and i got a security alert with HIGH as the threat level. i could not delete it D: so i lost a labtop that day. i bought vista about a month ago. and i had a HIGH threat level and i hit delete and it said all viruses have been removed. than it worked fine again :D

Yes, i had the same problem with viruses but i always get around them....You just gotta have good anti viruses and know what your doing :), Also Xp doesn't get alerts but i have a private anti virus that me and my friend made...It alerts me if a virus is attempting to do anything!

Okay so I have vista and it had so many pre-installed programs on it when I got it that it really annoyed me. You will need to get antivirus for sure if you get vista or else all the pre-installed programs will get infected.

Mine did so I uninstalled almost everything it came with.

Vista is better, I bought a laptop with Vista installed, but went to XP, only for the reason it wasn't ready. My graphics card couldn't fix aspect ratio on my screen and stretched everything. ONLY problem I had and it was just for gaming. switching back to vista very soon.

I think that the reason everyone feels its terrible because they hear it so often and WANT to feel its bad,, but there's nothing wrong with it, its very compatible, it can run old games my xp couldn't, theres no issues I've ever had with it, its fixed all of the driver issues and many others from xp

Yes because its new, all the hotfixes from XP have been added - then edited! So theirs gonna be more exploits and stuff for viruses to get in...

No because its newer, MS has been able to fix the stuff which was too deep for a windows update.

But yeh, people who say XP is better than Vista are just lieing to try and stop people from getting it legaly, but I bet they either havent tried it, or run a pirate version anyway!
