I have this car, it's a very excellent vehicle... but I tested the speed a year later and man I regret I did. It's true what they say, once you've driven the speed your poisoned. I read in a consumer review speed hype goes away as soon as it breaks down. The reliability of this car vs the speed is where the difference is found. The speed would visit the repair shop several times where as this car will not. Most speed3 owners modify the exhaust sys, blow off valve and rims. Why? I don't know
too much for this kind of car in its class...i rather get a rabbit....all these cars copied the orignal VW golf design from engine cover to antenna in the center.
driving a vw is like being cursed. you're waiting for the next window to fall of the tracks and fall in your door, or what kind of electrical problem will occur next or wondering how to ever get rid of the checkengine light. but most of all you're wondering why you paid so much more for this car then any of the competitors and why yours is always in the shop and your neighbors honda is 25 years old and still running.
i have a 06 mazda 6 s sport sedan, with the v6 yes ford uses the same 3.0 in there cars as well BUT mazda tweaked a little by adding Variable valve timming and other things, another thing its about the same size as the 3 only 7or 8 inches longer and and inch wider and taller, but most of the features in a gt 3 is standard on most 6's.... something to consider!
what do you think of the sport version of this car as a first car for me. dont tell me i shouldnt get a new car as a new driver, cuz ive been driving since i was 11 cuz my grandpa's business had a big private parking lot. do you recommend the sedan or hatch. i want it to be geared obviously toward a young teen like me. but what are some advantages of the sedan over the hatchback? besides price and gas mileage. i know that already.
aight yall jsut to clean things up, the 2008 Mazda 3's are the last to be 95% japanese except the tires which is the 5%. Othen than that everything's japanese. IT is the mazda 6 taht uses the ford engine and computer. but mazda 3 will be using ford computers and engines for their 09' mazda 3's. So if you wanna jap car you better buy one know or else you're gonna be found on road dead pretty soon and by the time the tow truck comes you're gonna be stranded in teh middle of the high way :P
I have a 5-door 3s touring and paid $18K. It's a great all rounder! The difference in price between my car and the speed3 is more like $7K not $5K. I know because I was considering getting a speed3 and I priced them. You can't forget that there's a dealer mark-up on the speed3.
"On any given Sunday, more Mazda's are raced on any given Sunday" So they say.I'm really happy with my 07 S manual hatch compared to my civic=no torque. With gas now up to $3.30 a gallon and only going up,I'd much rather have the 2.3 non-speed.I do have a few mods on mine; exhaust,CAI,coolant bypass, timing,& voltage/grounding kit.I raced a modded G35 coupe the other night on the freewayand it didn't fly by me but it only scooched by me which I think had to do with the extra 500 pounds of weight.
I have a 2007 i Touring and I beat everyone on the road with my autostick even an Acura RSX-S this morning, I got the sunroof and 6 CD changer and paid 18K for it I get 31 mpg every tank and I live in Destin Florida so I make alot of stop and go's and the car is amazing I've had it for 8 months and have 24k miles I'm not sick of driving it and my sister would rather drive it then her BMW 3 series hmm I love my Mazda!
i would rather pay 5,000 more and get the speed3. you get a 6 speed tranny, higher rpms, a cool spoiler, and about 100 more hp. its worth it if youre looking for speed and performance
I think its a really great car, but its really annoying that you can't see any gauges from the passenger seat. It really gives a great feel when you accelerate, and good handling too. Most Japanese cars don't turn that great, but this car is awesome. I have the cheapest stock model and I feel it lacks power on the highway when you try to overtake somebody. The off the line acceleration is great as I mentioned before.
I used to think the same, and I used to be a Honda fan, once driven a friend's Protege ES, boy was I hooked, I got slammed on my lowered civic by a OEM Protege ES with factory shocks and springs.
I bought a 05 Mazda3s Touring, love it every minute and second.
Great Mazdas! Try driving one and it will change your thinking about Mazda.
i think the mazda3 and lancer are almost identical in performance, looks, and reliability. its all about if you like the looks of the mazda3 or the lancer.

MAZDA is not a ford company..ford maybe owned 1/3 of the company but that doesnt mean ford owns mazda....

Check out the facts. They have only 12.4% NON CONTROLLING share right now. Ford is in deep shit.
