I am SHOCKED to see this. I wonder how come these laptops hev not been vandalised/stolen. Are u sure the internet there will be fast enough to handle the comps? And make sure u have a stand-by generator!
Na wao, i be say this principal neva see computa/intanet b4. Chai, na wao.
why the hell should it be subtitled when the english is very clear and well understood,am nigerian but i dont mean to be rude but its just a shame to make such clear english on note to be subtitled.beautiful students and i really wish they go far better in studies with it.
You can understand it very easily because it is your native way of speaking but for us there might me a word or soamthing that we won't get so subtitles might help, also there are good for somebody who has their speakers on mute mode...
Why on earth do we need to have subtitles for non-british, english speaking people? i can understand them as a 100% british person, so i am sure other people can. C'mon, this is embarrasing. Their english is very good! better than most brits!
Hu? Internet are you not on line reading this? If our children are correctly guided there is a wealth of information for them....and to put all Nigerians in the same box of rocks ...why is it that some people have to put others down to feel better about them selfs?
Define third world country:
A country were the children speak 3 languages
by the age of 9
1st world country:
speaks one language at age 15 maybe leaning another in school.
You people really surprise me and you are the reason why Nigeria will never progress as it should. Instead of being thankful that technology is being brought into a secondary school in Wuse you're here criticizing. What have you done to better your country? You're probably in some foreign country bickering from a distance. Go home and help your fellow Nigerians and then post your own video.
I love the idea of extending technology education into the schools via laptops. And like how intel's program has microsoft tools like powerpoint and etc.
my only concern is that they keep talking about how the kids can chat online....and no longer need textbooks. The laptop should not replace textbooks but assist and kids should not by anymeans be chatting while learning.
And not forgetting of the danger the internet will bring. I wonder if there are proper infrastructures in these countries to take care of the many worries of internet and computer use.
More waste to the environment? Laptop per child is a good idea, however, we have millions of disposed laptops that are in good condition... why not work on those?
If people dont have better thing things to say about help that people are giving to africa, then keep your bad comments to yourself. As a matter of fact, such comments make me see one of our greatest problems, "irrelevant pride." It is no doubt that the contribution that intel is making would have a very considerable impact. I am Nigerian, I have done a lot of study on the continent, we should support more corporate involvement on the continent.
It's not a publicity stunt. The One Laptop per child foundation was founded by the faculties of MIT, and it's intent from the beginning is to provide laptops to children from developing countries who otherwise wouldn't have it. There are quicker and less tasking ways for intel to make money if that was its main goal, and you guys should keep your unproductive pessimism to yourself or do a little more research before trying to corrupt others with it.
I'm very pleased with this video was very compelled to make a comment. The point is that its another public school in Abuja getting PC's- beta beta dey happen for Niaja . I hope we can see more of this very thoughtful idea from conglomerates that have a social concsience which motivates them to towards good causes like this! These kids will ever appreciate the goodwill and self importance their new computers suddenly adorned on them !
Your probably right. But remember teh purpose to give foreign kids a chance. So I don't care what it was brought under as long as it helps that is all I want to hear
yes but that's the problem. will it help or is it only one class room in the world for a short period to give the appearance of doing something. a pure publicity stunt

Good point. It's very easy to point at Naija and criticize, but the one to be criticized is the one the other fingers are pointing to.
