  • I just raced an identical TC yesterday in my American Spec Focus ZX4 ST.mods to that are intake and 2.5 exhaust.

    I beat him twice before he pulled over and asked what I had did to the Car.

    How did I beat a car that has 80 horsepower more than me?

    His was supercharged too.

    We both launched perfectly with little wheel spin.

    I just cant figure it out.....?

    I do have nitrous,but it is not installed at this time.

  • A scion tC was my first car. The only bad part is lots of people you know will get them too. They are super common. For the same price you can get like an 04 bmw z4 or a 325i or Audi TT or something that will actually make you stand out instead of looking like just another scion tc driver. the tC is a great car, just common. Oh and also, its the most ticketed car in America

  • turbo tc's are f n quick, comes with a 2.4 liter from the beginning which is pretty big for a 4cylinder, it will have something that a boosted K20 won't have, thats torque, unless its a K20/K24 hybrid.

  • um yeah, check your belt out bud! it looks like my friends tc that was s/c'd and it shredded the belt on the sc pulley there... yours looks a little frayed

  • I think the pulley on it standard pulls 7psi? You can get a 9.5psi lightweight pulley that will help get you up there. Then if you get some performance headers, s pipe, and some good exhaust, you can get the TC up to the mid 200's in WHP. Just make sure to upgrade your brakes as well unless you want to go flying off an overpass.

  • I heard the maximum you could get is 200 hp from the factory maximum. Unless you get a supercharger pulley upgrade and higher boost thus creating above 200hp.

  • the kit itself is actually good for 475hp at 20psi.

    but requires a patient build.

  • alot. port, polish the heads. blueprint the block and what not. reinforce it lightweight internals port match the intake manifold. alot of stuff. like i said patient build. and takes time.

    but im going to supercharge mine also. turbo requires to much maitance.

  • Damn, change the serpantine belt. Its coming apart.Also, does the supercharger have an oil line to and from the engine, or do you have to change the oil separately? Keep an eye on that, if you've got to change it separate.

  • I assume you mean 240 hp at the crank. An RSX is 200-210hp stock so on the same boost an RSX is at least 40-50hp mroe cause a Scion is only 160hp and 163tq. That is only 20 lbs more torque than an RSX. my 253 whp is about 292hp at the crank

  • @MaddDogg81 By stock RSX, you must be referring to the Type S, because the standard RSX only makes between 150-160.

  • not as fasdt as my turbo RSX on only 6.5psi. I'm getting 253.4whp how much in that TC

  • If I was turbo'd I would be higher than 253whp and much higher than that tq too. Im supercharged though. Maybe 240 now, but more stuff has been added since the video was taken.

  • @lurch1489 Lol, learn specs about the car before you try being a smart ass. There is no throttle cable under the hood of a Tc, it's electronic. The only way to rev one is from the gas pedal. Nice try though.....

  • i personally wouldnt go with the trd. its pretty expensive for just an increase of 40 hp... i'd go for a turbo kit for more power and fun(zpi, greddy,?turbonetics?,etc). however, the trd s/c is more reliable and engine friendly. im in the same dilemma right now on what to get. ive heard of so many pros and cons about every forced induction system..

  • Im saving up for my supercharger now! Notice all the engine movement when you reved up,a nice addition to your car would be a damper or some polyurethane motor mounts to reduce or eliminate motor movement. Reducing or eliminating the movement of the motor will greatly increase the responsiveness of your ride!
