I'm sick of people giving Japanese players slack when they lose to console characters. The game has been out for over a year now and the excuse of "not knowing the match-up, etc." is dead. Daigo lost straight up. Deal with it and give the Rose player the respect he rightfully earned.

It's just a waste of time to play console characters when all Japanese tournaments and arcades (which actually exist in Japan) are not the console version. Obviously they're not going to know the matchups as well.
You are right, besides, Daigo plays with Ryu, one of the most "friendly" characters in the game, Rose is much more dificult to play at pro-levels. Luffy rules!

Viper is considered one of the top characters on most japanese tier lists due to her massive amount of mix-up and Oki/Ukizeme options.
And as for americans considering rose bottom. Well, i'm a rose main and I can say that she's bottom for a reason. She lacks a lot of tools that most of the character has, but it also comes down to know what situations to keep yourself out of with Rose.

Yeah in just about every tourney the announcers are literally on top of the players yelling and saying dumb comments.
It'd be nice if the players got put into one room, while the audience and announcers were in another, so they could focus a little easier without a crazy guy yelling nonsense behind them.

Vegas inputs take more time and are harder to do/put together then compared to most of the SF4 cast, and therefore will get beat up much faster by someone playing a Shoto player like Ken or Ryu.
Dan IS crap. Look at tier lists, more than that look at any tournaments and see how many people play Dan and how many people get to top 8 and one of them is Dan.
Hell go online and see how often you see people winning with Dan. He's a cool character tho...
It's not that he's good at all. compared to other characters, he lacks what they all have. Projectile, linkable combos. The only pro side is the tiger knee pressure strings, like Sagat.
The players who use him, and get somewhere, have very good fundamental basics. If they did the same match with you, with Ryu, they'd wipe you on the floor, clean.

wrong she can combo into her ultra. You might want to research some of her hard trials. Ex fireball > level 2 ex focus attack > ultra, quite easy to do might i add. However doing it in a match would be tricky and its at a cost of 3 bars of ex meter.

And it's not really a reliable combo unless you hit confirm into it and lowering the damage further >_>

I love how everyone makes excuses for Daigo whenever he loses, in this case It's "Oh the announcer was yelling behind him" or "Oh he didnt know the Rose Matchup" you guys seriously need to pull your head out of your ass and Daigo's dick out of your mouth. Daigo is a great player, no doubt one of the best but he CAN lose, and he CAN make mistakes. Luffy was playing safe the whole set and it payed off greatly. He gave 100% effort to beat Daigo and thats exactly what he did, Good shit Luffy.

Well, tbf, it's true that he doesn't know the Rose matchup, but that isn't a valid excuse, if he doesn't know the Rose matchup, then he should find some console tournaments in Japan and learn the rose matchup.

Rose isn't hard to play in any way, nor is she overly good, she's just new to diago (that was literally the first time he played a rose ever)

Excellent play from both players. Luffy kept his cool and overcame that Daigo rushdown in that last round. Awesome matches.

I'm sick of people giving Japanese players slack when they lose to console characters. The game has been out for over a year now and the excuse of "not knowing the match-up, etc." is dead. Daigo lost straight up. Deal with it and give the Rose player the respect he rightfully earned.

It's just a waste of time to play console characters when all Japanese tournaments and arcades (which actually exist in Japan) are not the console version. Obviously they're not going to know the matchups as well.

You are right, besides, Daigo plays with Ryu, one of the most "friendly" characters in the game, Rose is much more dificult to play at pro-levels. Luffy rules!

Vry123, are you saying I should play an arcade character so Daigo doesn't have to do his homework before a tournament? SF4 was released in Feb. 2009 and winning at SF4 is Daigo's job. If an office hired me to run a copy machine, but no one ever used color copies, it's still my job to know how to make color copies on the day someone finally needs them.

@kaicho How do you think they practice their combos to near perfection? There's no training mode in an arcade. So yes, they all have consoles and access to console characters. It would be foolish to think otherwise.

@LBBF84 actually is hard to beat a rose with ryu cuz rose pokes are better and safer and she evade easily from ryu zoning, and this is sfiv in SSFIV rose is even better with 2nd ultra and fast recovery fireballs shes hard to beat with ryu , even to daigo

Viper is considered one of the top characters on most japanese tier lists due to her massive amount of mix-up and Oki/Ukizeme options.
And as for americans considering rose bottom. Well, i'm a rose main and I can say that she's bottom for a reason. She lacks a lot of tools that most of the character has, but it also comes down to know what situations to keep yourself out of with Rose.
Knowledge makes all the difference.

Yeah in just about every tourney the announcers are literally on top of the players yelling and saying dumb comments.
It'd be nice if the players got put into one room, while the audience and announcers were in another, so they could focus a little easier without a crazy guy yelling nonsense behind them.
That's just me though.
Also...seems like Daigo is less heated about SF4 now...must be learning all the new stuff for SSF4 in his early copy so he doesn't care anymore lol.

Vegas inputs take more time and are harder to do/put together then compared to most of the SF4 cast, and therefore will get beat up much faster by someone playing a Shoto player like Ken or Ryu.
Dan IS crap. Look at tier lists, more than that look at any tournaments and see how many people play Dan and how many people get to top 8 and one of them is Dan.
Hell go online and see how often you see people winning with Dan. He's a cool character tho...

It's not that he's good at all. compared to other characters, he lacks what they all have. Projectile, linkable combos. The only pro side is the tiger knee pressure strings, like Sagat.
The players who use him, and get somewhere, have very good fundamental basics. If they did the same match with you, with Ryu, they'd wipe you on the floor, clean.

wrong she can combo into her ultra. You might want to research some of her hard trials. Ex fireball > level 2 ex focus attack > ultra, quite easy to do might i add. However doing it in a match would be tricky and its at a cost of 3 bars of ex meter.

That's 3 ex blocks for bad damage compared to other chars who doesn't need any at all or only use 2 blocks to combo into ultra and still get better damage out of it.
And it's not really a reliable combo unless you hit confirm into it and lowering the damage further >_>
