i heard when fire burns the trees it's actually good for the trees. but i am sad the fire destroyed the Santa Barbara mountains and hills. i was also recording a video when i was at my grandma's house. and u could see the fire so clear where she lives.
my dad worked that fire. he was gone an entire week and he said it was crazy. my family spent all day in front of the tv just watching all the chaos unfold
This is my parents' neighborhood. In 22 years of living there I never once saw a celebrity living in that area. My parents bought their house for $180,000 in 1982 and now it is worth $1,800,000. Why? My dad is a self employed contractor and remodeled it (often using me as assistance). This was in addition to my dad working 5 days a week on jobs to feed the family. We weren't rich, and my parents still haven't paid off the house. apocalypse348, go suck a dick or try working construction.
I apologize to all that have had to endure the distasteful comments coming in and of course the relevance to this video. I have erased all that I felt were inappropriate and have even blocked some users. Thanks for viewing my video and my heart goes out to all those families that have lost their homes and have been displaced. We will recover.
HOW ABOUT PROPOSING A SOLUTION SO THINGS LIKE THIs WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN,
we have to build fireproof homes that never need to be evacuated- NEVER.
second we need a fleet of 747size water tankers along with heavy helicopters to put any fire out in hours .
simple to design and wouldn't cost anymore than what we spend now once we factor lives, property, wildlife and of course the bucket and garden hose efforts we have now.
umm, you are wrong if you think only the wealthy lost their homes. i know those hills better than most people, and this was not something confined to celebrities or "rich bitches", in your words. do you always show such ignorance? i wish you luck in your own life, and if bad luck finds you, i hope you meet up with people who are more gracious than you are.
Well, tell this to those 4 kids in Syria, killed by your troops. The US soldiers, attacked a sovereign country and killed 8 civilians, 4 of them little kids... How cool is that?
we live 2 miles West of there. it was the scariest night i have ever had. we got the heck out of there and just got back home tonight. god bless the firefighters
So sad...my family had to evacuate but all are okay, and I went to Westmont, too...some say the most gorgeous campus in the country; how sad. So glad no one hurt.
I am terribly sorry that happened to you/him. Even if I imagined what it must be like for your family, I could not imagine it really. I was almost sure my mom's would burn.
As to why residents choose these places to live, people may criticize all they like, but they just don't see and understand. There is so much a place like SB has to offer; it's not like fires come all the time.
And this was a unique thing: a 75 mph hurricane of fire.
I went to Westmont College and lived in SB for 28 years. You did get really good footage. I remember those sundowners and fires. Glad you stayed safe.
Do you still live here in SB? It was quite surreal witnessing mother nature at its worse on our community. We did stay safe and left once we felt threatened. Thanks for your comment on the video.
We moved to South Florida 11 years ago. We got tired how hard it was to make ends meet in SB. Life is easier here and the water is warmer for sailing and diving.
