Thats a really old Moose alarm system. POS in the day, and worse now. And that Glass break is so outdated...no wonder you have that fooled. Spend a few hundred bucks, and get a new system and try it with that
even with a new glass break or here you have a window bug, door contact ( mounted on the window need protecting) it will do the same thing.. a low and high pitch will set it off...
thats how u test it idiot, the glass break detector looks for high and low frequencies at the same time and that coin or nail or watever in the jar made pretty much what the detector needed to set off... cmon second grade stuff
yeah, it chimes because glass breaks are programmed with the same zone types as doors (on GE systems zone type 10 is delayed door and 13 is instant, glass breaks are programmed as 13 so they will chime when tampered) if you program a motion sensor to zone type 10 or 13 and walk in front of it, it will chime as well.
oh man.. you need to update that...

@sighomg You mean the keypad? I have since then. I still kind of miss the old one though, strangely enough.

I'll have to try this. I have a glass break detector but have never been able to test it unlike all the other zones. Thanks.
