  • Hello! I have the Bose Companion 2 Series II speakers hooked up to my laptop, and they sound pretty decent for computer speakers, but I'm wondering if the newer MusicMonitors would have a better overall sound and bass than the Compaion 2s?

  • The bass is great and can go low for their size, BUT whenever you turn the volume past medium the bass is reduced dramatically. It is compression as to not induce distortion when volume is increased.

  • I found a pair of Bose Computer Music Monitors selling for $125 in a pawn shop and couldn't justify even paying that price after seeing and hearing them. Ended up buying a Logitech S220 2.1 setup for $24 NIB that I believe sounds every bit just as good.

  • do they have good bass ?

  • @Henrique1993202 For their size the bass is very good. Not loud and boomy, but pretty natural. I see that Bose does have a new Companion 20 2 channel system that costs $249.99. It appears to be larger and doesn't have the wireless remote, but it might be worth a listen.

  • hurry the fuck up and show us the "aaaaction"

  • The truth is that those passive radiators have too much prior art to be patented. They've been used since before Amar Bose was building speakers. Still, for their size, those speakers are surprising for their size.

  • @bgggbb you cant be that good of a musician to not care about buying decent speakers

  • @OakridgeProductions9 My Stereo is Denon with Mission speakears. $400 for tiny computer speakers is a little much. I know good sound when I hear it and the speakers I have sound quite nice for surplus speakers.

Check my channel if you want to hear me play.

  • @bgggbb Yeah, but the point is that these speakers are tiny .They have 2.5 inch cones and deliver a massive sound. Of course if you go and buy a 10" subwoofer you're gonna get more base, but it's gonna be massive, and look crap.

  • your bose sounds good on my bose

  • miniature passive radiators in a sort-of isobaric config. absolutely incredible bass :-)

  • 400$ FOR THOSE SPEAKERS !!!! You can buy way better stuff then that Bose crap. You could have bought high quality satelite speakers and a great subwoofer. Why you buy that Bose crap instead? Those things will never sound to great.

  • @PA5cAl1 its 300 now. so just shut up. No one cares about you or what you think.

  • @MusicWithDABASS Fuck you crazy asshole. Nobody cares about your shit modda fucka. Fuck of with your Bose crap !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @PA5cAl1 lol I barely buy from bose and I have 2 boston acoustics home theatre systems that would blow all of you crap away.

  • @MusicWithDABASS You haven't seen my bandpass subwoofer i guess

  • These speakers may seem like alot to some people...but ppl dont realize how much thought were put into these. YEARS of research. Made to sound REALISTIC, not just all bass, and made to last...well...decades. Bose knows what ther'yre doing and theyre alot like apple. They make things ppl like, small and compact ...good quality..and somewhat affordable. Thats the truth

  • You still using your old iMac? I had a uh, 2006 model? Intel Core 2 Duo. How is it holding up and now long have you had it?

  • That sounds fucking good, but what im using is PROPER shit.

Made in UK with Titanium drivers

    Yup, Mordaunt-Short MS302's

  • better then my logitech z-2300?

  • You get what you pay for. These are high quality speakers, there are no speakers on the market that sound as good as these AT THIS SIZE! Sure you can find speakers that sound as good as these but they will be 3 times the size.

  • Best Speaker

  • hey man, do you think these would be better then the MM-1s from B&W?

  • Someone can tell me which speakers are better than Bose Music Monitor, but smaller or the same size and I don't mind the price.

  • that's the only time I've ever heard bass out of those things. doesn't surprise me, he's three inches from the "woofers". They were underwhelming at the Bose store, but as long as you're happy with yours, then all the power to you.

  • omg... i had so many doubts abougt thiese little speakers but wow i can't believe what i am hearing. The base is really nice. I wanna buy companion 3 and i wonder how the base would compare

  • @chltmdwp If u dont have space limitation problem, then I suggest that u go for Companion 3 cause the base is much stronger. But if u like to move around ur notebook with audio system, then this tiny speaker is better! I use to travel a lot with my netbook and this unit have no burden to me. The hotel staff even think I bring a 5.1 HiFi system when they heard the sound from corridor!!!

  • sounds disgusting i wouldn't pay over $10 for em, you an idiot to pay $400 for that garbage the sales person is probably laughing at you

  • @ash7032 What if he bought them online? I don't think they have online sales reps :p

  • These speakers perform wonderfully for the size, but the price is quite expensive. I have the Bose Companion 2 and 3 Series II. The Companion 3's sound good, and they cost a couple of bucks less than the Music Monitor's. I think you would've ended up better with a Companion 2 Series II. The Companion 2 Series II is 12 W/Channel. My Dad helped me measure it with some numbers on the back... He's a technician, so he knows. Companion 3 would've been much better than this.

  • ..i have a HK Soundstick that ive owned for 3 yrs and love it but im getting this Bose now for my silver 27" IMAC...they would look good together

  • i listened to them in the store today and i was kinda amazed and there was this lady searching the subwoofer but there was non..and its really not too much bass but its really amazing..

even though they cost a LOT of money for speakers this size (you can get a decent 5.1 speaker system for that) but if you just want something small with the best quality (both build and sound quality) thats the way to go!

if ur planning on carrying them around though..they're quite heave for their size

  • @Lukaz1989 it's just over a Kilogram c'mon...

  • How can the guy below say "that sounds absolutely horrible :/" does he realise he listening to them on his own speakers! and not the Bose speakers he's looking at!, I don't slate anyone as we all have are own opinions, but come on, use your head!.

  • I am happy with my purchase. I'm glad you are as well. The speaker boxes on my set are made of wood and sound very compareable to much more expensive speakers. They're very loud a crystal clear. It all boils down to what you decide to invest your money in. It's all personal preference.

  • @songotenz02 then you probably don't know anything about Bose or you just don't have ears...i'm sorry...

  • @SoooOOOoooOOOoooT You're joking right?

  • @songotenz02 hahaha...no...anyways do u hav a bose system...? if u dnt then...keep ur opinions to urself...tq

  • U suck !!!

  • Talk about Big punch in a small package!

  • Thanks for the info....I'll keep shopping....

  • nott 24 rms is aa 200 rms

  • BTW, I have the same iMac! Good choice! I'm all about saving money!! I bought mine for $300!

  • This system is not soooo fantastic, its only 24 watts. this is how you find out. multiply the voltage by the amps and you will find out. my companion 2's are 32 watts.... stronger, and cheaper. not sure if they sound better

  • 98% has'nt got a clue of audio, I call them BOSE customers

  • so what do you use if you don like Bose speakers

  • or you can get equal speakers for half the price....lol

  • damn the bass is powerful, I can even hear it in my subwoofer.

  • Not sure what all the hype is with Bose. For audiophiles, Bose is a marketing machine, and nothing more. Well built speakers starts with the drivers. if you pay attention to the excursion on the woofer, you will see a great deal of flex on the woofer. A well made speaker will not flex. $400 for those speakers is ridiculous. I am now using Logitech's flagship Z5500's. They have plenty of power, use phase plug drivers, and sound great.

  • thats not the speaker. Its 2 passive radiators which are made to reverberate to create deeper bass. The passive radiators are placed one in front of another to cancel out any vibrations which may make the speaker move around the desk.

  • I have the Bose Companion 2 and I think that its the same thing... Only those sound 2000 times better.... But they both work the same way! You should change them and get them in Black!

  • they look not bad,but i think they are too small

  • Listen to some AudioEngine monitors. For 350 bucks, you can't go wrong. But if you're listening to music with your pc. Make sure you use lossless :)

  • i've got the Audioengine 2's for 200, all about quality, they're better than any other active pc speaker like bose companion 5, musicmonitor, Logitech z-5500, Razer Mako etc. (except Audioengine 5 and high performance active studio monitors)

  • Actually, I have Bose speakers hooked to my computer aswell :) I can perfectly hear them reproduce the sound.

  • Those speakers power own my bose companion 5 you guys should see it in person.

  • yo whats up i like the video but what is the name of the song that u were plaing it really got a nice beat to it whats the name

  • Currents by Dashboard Confessional

  • yeah i herd those things there pritty good, but expensive lol

  • @yamajammer76 I have a companion 5, and I swear to god, a friend of mine has a 2000 watt system and he still wonder why my Bose is much louder .-. they aren't made to be loud , but they kick pretty hard anyway LoL Love Bose

  • Nice im glad you like them 5 stars

  • Good to see this review before I go to bed.

    Good job!

I made up my mind to get one sooner or later!!!

  • Thanks! I really like them. Yes they were expensive, however they are a high quality product. I would put these up against any speaker in the world the same size and around the same price for sound quality and for bass without a subwoofer. As long as you are comparing apples to apples these things are amazing.

  • I placed d order for one pair last night!

    Can't wait to get it....^ ^

  • Cool. Can't wait to see what you think. I am listening to them right now. The more I listen the more I love the sound of these little speakers. For their size they sound absolutely amazing.

  • Even compared up against many of the mid-priced, or mid-range brands, of speakers you would get at Circuit-City, their clarity, revealing character, and smooth sound production are superior (especially in a near-field environment, which is - ultimately - the best kind), to many of the products you would find at Circuit-City - or Best Buy - except for their Magnolia Home Theater section which carries higher-quality products.

Amazing engineering and design is apparent in these outstanding units.

  • Thanks for the recommendation. (This is the guy who recommended these to me) This is one of the first blind buys I have ever made in regards to an audio product that I am completely satisfied with. I was worried at $400 there might be some buyers remorse. There isn't.

  • I got my speaker! It is even smaller than I imagine! Bose did a good job!

The sound is absolutely amazing from these tiny staff...especially when playing a better quality music, e.g. an ape file.

It even beats my UE11 (customized earphone)...

Thanks dude! I really love it and enjoy it!

  • nice dude!
