  • Torque break that with the VSC button held for 3 second. It could turn out like you see in my videos.

  • 5.7's have sooo much low end torque, plus really short 1st gear = lot of g's and skid marks! other tundra owners know what i mean lol

  • i hear the 5.7 in this is the same aluminum block in the old 90s 5.7s....

  • @st3v3n98 Toyota did not have a 5.7 in the 90s. THe only v8s they had were the 1uz-fe (4.0) and the 2uz-fe (4.7 iron block). The 5.7 here is the 3ur-fe. Two complete different engine series, the old UZ and the new UR.

  • @Motorfordtoyota yeah i knew that but the yotas 5.7s are from gm but im not sure

  • @st3v3n98 No, they were Iron block apart from the LS1.

  • Tundras Rule!

  • Does it have the TRD supercharger?

  • haha, none of the "big three" or nissan has yet to beat my tundra. but for all you haters, lets hang on to the "stuck pedal" excuse so that it makes you feel better.

  • @obigoplaya the big three? for the price you paid for your tundra a diesel from anyone of the big three would tow your forein piece of shit all around a parking lot till the transmission fell out the bottom. also check youtube for the bed shake video, and the frame strenght video. the tundra is an overpriced antiquated piece of crap. Be american, buy american... or look like a tool in your tundra. the new f-150 will out tow and out haul it for half the price mate... eat it. or deny it.. IDK.

  • That thing should be quick with a stuck gas pedal.

  • Hey hows your gas pedal?

  • Ha It was still there last time i checked. Just hope you're not stopped in a line in front of me any time soon.

  • @MikeCheat04 ha ...you should take on my hemi

  • @nathan12111 only if I don't have to go out of my way to race you otherwise blah

  • guys ALL current pickups chev dodge ford toyota are all awesome.Stop bitchin

  • @hankmiestro Once again, someone els who also knows something! There all great trucks.

  • @hankmiestro Its thoughts like that, that are causing the big three here in america. despite the fact that toyota has them built here, more than 70% of the window sticker price ends up in japan... god your such a tool.

  • @exile907 exile, think about what your saying, you make no sense. You think toyota's Japanese division makes more than 70%profit (PER VEHICLE) in one of the most competitive markets in north america?! Im not even gonna talk about the investment expenditure and dealership costs toyota has to pay and has invested (IN NORTH AMERICA) to operate here.Your out of your mind.Think before you speak, dont make random numbers up.

  • @hankmiestro what ever the number, im against sending thousands per vehicle to JAPAN. its a waste.

  • @exile907 Tundras are made in USA, therefore you dont like keeping money to in the USA as well?

Just because your not so well of dosent mean you have to bad mouth jap cars.

  • @MooseBaker made here or not, the PROFIT, goes to japan. id say if you bought american, youd have a better truck. AND easily 70% of the money would stay here. instead of the what? 1200 bucks a truck they had to pay to keep the workers paid the the factory running? its a crap shoot. Being well off? I own a 13 second explorer, and a 12 second trans am. Im bad mouthing jap cars, cus they are crap. a tundra costs as much as a Diesel pick up dude, its crap. buy american, keep your money in the USA.

  • @exile907 Your looking at this very one sided. I have 3 GM American trucks, not saying they are bad, because they are defently good trucks, but I also have three jap rigs. So I can honestly say the japs hold out better then the Americans. Trust me I wish this was not true, I know each case is different but I probably wont be buying any new American rigs any time soon.

  • I'd hate to break it to you but Ford, GM, and Chrylser outsource half their vehicles in Canada and Mexico. Guess where most of those profits go? Most American-sold Toyotas are built in the United States. The only exceptions are imports. Regardless of where the most of the profits go, at least Toyota gives jobs to American people. Keep buying your American cars. When they break down, Toyota owners will be happy to tow you out. Oh, and Toyota gas engines usually outlast American diesels.

  • @exile907 Just to let you know I have a uncle who works for the corporate side of toyota, and a lot of the profit stays in America, and yeah not all of it stays but a lot of it does. And Im not trying to start something Im just clarifying. So toyota is giving back to Americans. And most "American" made cars are built in Canada and Mexico any ways.

  • it was kind of a joke.. no need to get all serious here, but now it has 5032 miles and is still going strong...

  • Can your grandfather's 93 Sierra do 0-100 km/H in 6 seconds?????

  • My 09 tundra has 1346 miles on it and is still going strong!

  • Holy shit that's impressive!! My grandfathers 1993 Sierra 350 has 380,000 and is still going strong!!

    XD Wow....

  • this truck has 8 balls

  • @dummyjum along side 8 powerful cylinders!

  • FINALLY!!! a tundra video that isnt fake lol. there is a video on here that says 0-100 but the odometer never adds any mileage and its way to quick. im not a fan of tundra but gotta respect a truck that has 4 balls. most of my vehicles were one-nut-wonders.

  • i have my own rating system lol 78 f150 351W(1 nut) ,86 chevy c-10 305(1 nut), 89 firebird 2.8L V6(1 nut), 97 ranger 2.3L I4(.5 nuts), 90 chrysler 5th ave 3.3L(1.5 nuts) , 04 f150 heritage 4.2L (2 nuts) 96 trans am(5 nuts) and the one i have now..08 f150 4.2L (2.5 nuts)-gearing makes it quicker than my 04 so that is reason for the half nut difference. if anybody wants some possible laughs, tell me what you have and i'll rate it in NUTS lol. no extra points awarded for bumper ballsacks lol

  • very nice truck. Love it

  • this is one ugly friken truck, but i have to admit this thing has some balls, you can't go wrong with a 6 speed truck. but in either case, CHEVY NATION!!!!!

  • the outside of the truck is bad ass man!

but yes Toyota could have done alot better on the interrior. i own a 08 Tundra and i was a little dissapointed with the interrior but the performance makes up for it =)

  • ya its all people personal opinion what it comes down too, i mean its a different look, its not totally ugly but its just different. i wouldnt mind at all having one of those tho haha. ya im sure they made it a little cheaper on the interior to spend more time on the engine performance. i wish i had power like that, its insane for a truck

  • yea that would make sense. yea i love driving it everyday with the awesome engine it has. i just hope gas doesnt go back up!

  • do u have any aftermarket products on it? i have a 97 chevy with a 350ci vortech, dual flowmasters, k&n cold air intake, hypertech chip, and hedman headers, chek out my vid

  • I love GM too, but I simply cannot trust GM to survive. I want a Silverado SOOOOOOOOOOOO bad, but like I said, I just cant trust GM right now. So I think I'll be getting a Tundra : /

  • ya i hear ya, they have done nothing to pull themselves out of the rut, they kind of just let themselves go. but hey, i wouldn't mind buying one of the fastest stock trucks in the nation ahh

  • I just REALLY hate the interiors of SUV's and Trucks (exceptions is the GM products, and maybe Mercedes, but their a whole other sector of the industry). And Toyota is no exception. The build quality is good, but the design itself is revolting. I guess I just cant get myself away from the LTZ and SLT interiors :P. Looks like I'll have to suck it up, or keep my 2005 Silverado for a while longer.

  • ya they aren't that nice compared to some of the other cars. like especially the decks in the dashboards are hideous.ya man decisions decisions haha

  • lol im just saying.. i haven't seen a lot of older toyota's. haha.

    mostly domestics

    :/

  • not bad -- but i still prefer domestic. they simply last longer than these will.

  • Only 20 tundras had camshaft failures.

  • wow he would of died at 40 mph that thing is a death trap

  • my company only has ford's and i assure you there junk they dont last 270k on one motor and if they do basically everything had to be replaced, i mean the rangers and super-dutys aint too bad, but the f150's are super junk

  • They might be fast but theyre ugly

  • exactly!!!

  • yeah the Tundra pick-ups are hideous looking, but the Sequioa SUVs which are based off the Tundra are somewhat nice looking. and r also just as fast

  • I'm the supervisor for a law enforcement agency. In 1998, we purchased 16 new vehicles. Several Chevy's, several Dodges, 1 Ford, and 1 Toyota T-100. The only vehicle still in service is the T-100, the rest are dead and retired. In 2005, our agency purchased another slough of vehicles, this time mostly Dodge, and a few Chevy's. Because of our contract, they were unable to purchase Toyota. They asked me what vehicle I would like, and I opted to stick with my 98 Toyota.

  • i love inter car manufacturer battles. i have a ram, and love the ram...but i respect the tundra a lot...but not a fan of hwo it rides. and that's wasn't a diss, so don't be like OMG WTF DODGE IS GTEH GHEY AS HELL OMG TITAN TUNDRA DENALI IS TEH BETTERZ!!

  • Fords arent junky when you can get 263000 miles out of one motor that is still running perfectly, try that with a chevy, its not gonna happen

  • my company only has ford's and i assure you there junk they dont last 270k on one motor and if they do basically everything had to be replaced, i mean the rangers and super-dutys aint too bad, but the f150's are super junk

  • i have 300,000 mile silverado that is still running

  • Enjoy your truck before your tailgate falls off, your camshafts fail, and your whole motor needs to be replaced, this truck is plagued with recalls, and coming from a company with a reputation for quality and reliabilty its quite embarassing

  • LMFAO only 20 Tundra (5.7 L ENGINE ONLY, 4.7 and 4.0 ENGINES DO NOT HAVE THIS ISSUE) were recalled. You're an idiot.

  • yea, tundras are pretty straight. i just don't like them for "not american" reasons, not cause they're not reliable or anything. the only tundras that really had issues, were the first ones, cause they had powerful engines tied to a tacoma's driveline. but, i'm sure after a few years, they've tweaked it. Happy truckin' man.

  • Plagued with recalls??? (show me one) HUH??? Ive have an 07 5.7 and havent had one recall notice or problem with this truck. I heard there were issues with a small number of 07 tundra's just like there are with any mass produced vehicles. Go play in the sand with your weak little Ford Ranger that could prob fit in the bed of my truck =)

  • Looks good man. Tundra Iforce would be my choice if I wanted a different vehicle. Eitherway nice work.

  • I have an 07 Crewmax with the big engine. It'll cruise at 100+ and not know the difference. I have zero complaints. I used to drive Fords, but Toyota's got them beat in reliability and resale value.

  • how are we poor if the cost twice as much as pos chevys

  • ohh and how long will that piece of shit last before it breaks down, all u redknecks who say ford and dodge is better dont know shit besides who's gunna take advice from hicks like you who fuk their own sisters

  • Ultimate 0 trucks were recalled for camshaft failures. You just made yourself look like an idiot.

  • You mean all 20?

  • ooooooooooooooooooooo soming everybody`s azzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....................

  • I really can tow 10,000 pounds with my Tundra, I tried it, and that 5.7 gets a better gas mileage than one might think.

  • Tundra is a very good Truck, please people don't start saying that it's crap cause someone smoked your azz.

  • this truck must be on jack stands

  • maybe towing but not payload...dont want to bend the frame!

  • hahaahah all the commericals. but srsly how much can it pull tell me

  • peice of shit

  • ooohhh really now oo i see youre retarded. how well does that thing hold up off road??? how much can it pull behind it??? go ahead tell me

  • Look it up and don't be a pussy. It handles BETTER than the Ford F150 PLUS gets better gas vs the Ford's V8's. AND it can tow 10,000 lbs.

  • is that the 5.7?

  • Anyone who believes Toyota made this truck to compete with a lightning is a 'tard.

    Very nice Tundra.

  • Anyone know how much of a loss of aceleration on the crew max 5.7?

  • I have an 05 Tundra (Before the redesign) And it's top speed as a mind blowing (93mph)

    I WAS CRYING!!!

well other than that it is a marvalous machine!

  • yeah, aparently it can go 100mph in 4th gear, i find that hard to believe, unles you snuk a shift in, you is a cheater

  • 1st gear shifts at 35mph, 2nd shifts at 65mph, 3rd gears shift at 95mph to 4th, not sure what 4th tops out at because I hit the limiter at 115mph. No sneaky stuff here.

  • and its a 6 speed...is the top speed 180 mph?!

  • maybe 200mph....if your on the moon. I imagine 140 to 150 mph is the most you'll get out of a truck this size with stock hp. A supercharger might jump it a little.

  • I've witnessed my friends corvette get burnt in the turnpike by a chevy turbo diesel dually(most have been modded out of it's ass). let's just put it this way, I was in a 05 accord v6 doing 128 mph with the vette about 5 cars ahead of me and the truck 3 cars ahead of the vette. I must add the corvette is a 01 regular model, not the z06, but none the less very impressive considering the vette weighs almost 3 times less than the huge turbo diesel chevy truck.

  • @MikeCheat04 its limited to 110. could get to 150 easy.

  • @myroguepwns hardly its not geared in anyway to pass 130.

  • @exile907 well gears can be changed but 381 hp can definatly get u to 150.

  • @myroguepwns i agree compleatly, but stock it wont go anywhere near 150, i can see 130ish redlined in last gear.

  • based on the OE tire size of 255/70R18, 4.10 gears and a 5600 rpm redline / shift point these are the speeds per gear at redline

    1st 3.333:1 37.7

    2nd 1.960:1 64.1

    3rd 1.353:1 92.9

    4th 1.000:1 125.7

    5th 0.728:1 172.7

    6th 0.558:1 225.3

ungoverned i'd say it would top out at 135ish due to drag overcoming the available engine power

  • this was suppose to be in responce to

qwertymac93's comment below that is on page 5

yeah, aparently it can go 100mph in 4th gear, i find that hard to believe, unles you snuk a shift in, you is a cheater

  • i have a titan and i must say, that tundra is definitely faster. that 6 speed is one of the best innovations

  • Denalis are gay.

  • wats a "Denalis"?

  • Hmm, haven't really messed with the manumatic thing that much. This run was done with the truck in drive. I'll have to try it the other way next time.

  • I just bought an 08 GMC Sierra Denali. I test drove just about every full size truck on the market, the tundra has really nice acceleration but the Denali with those extra horses really would give the tundra a hard time. Take a look at the Denali before you even think about a tundra

  • The Tundra is faster locooso, and considerably cheaper, and gets better gas mileage, and can tow more, and can haul more, and has bigger brakes...

  • Sierra Denali 0-60 in 6.2 secs; it's geared to be a luxurious truck, not a hauler. also 22 more horses, 16 more lbs torque

    it is heavier though...

  • Check out inside line dot com's review, the Tundra is anywhere from .4 to .1 seconds faster than the Denali depending on the review. Unless you have on that states otherwise I'm sticking with what I read. Also, what does that extra HP do for you if it gets worse gas mileage, tows less, hauls less and is slower??

  • I never said the Denail was faster. I simply said that it has more torque and hp than the Tundra. I also said that it is a heavier truck, and it's not even in the same class as the Tundra. As I said, it's a luxury truck, not a regular half-ton pickup.

Reviews and tests can be biased

  • Reviews can be biased I agree cnocher. I understand this truck is certainly not marketed at me, but it seems to me that 3 of the 4 main reasons people would buy this truck (the Denali that is) the Tundra does as well if not better in. Those four things as I see it (compared to the GMC and Silverado 1500's) are the 6 speed transmission (which Tundra has), speed (which Tundra does better), luxury (which Denali clearly does bettter) and actual truck usage (which Tundra does better).

  • agreed.

i drove a Tundra 5.7l last week and, yes, it definitely is fast

  • f150 lightning is waaay faster(but is realy old, like they stoped making them in 05)

  • Qwerty a Lightning goes 0-60 in 5.8 seconds, the Tundra Double Cab was tested at 0-60 in 6 seconds. A Tundra Regular Cab is nearly identical time wise to a Lighting in the 0-60.

  • i ment top speed. it goes about 150mph stock, idk what the tundra does but id still rather have a 05 lightning. also, the car is 3 years old, you think tundra has had a bit of time to catch up?

  • The Tundra's limiter cuts it off at 115 I believe. Also qwerty the nice thing about the Tundra is that it is a truck that you can use. Not only is it faster than the Lightning (acceleration) but it can also tow 10,800lbs more and haul 1,000 lbs more.

  • and thats why the lightning was cancelled.have you seen its succecor?(the "adreniline") its bad ass.

  • My most recent run I did 0-60mph in 5.6 seconds, check my other videos to see it. Also took it to the track in 90 degree weather, ran a 14.181 at 97.2mph. Not as fast as a Lightning but will be faster when the TRD supercharger comes out.

  • 5.6 0-60 still does not equate to a 14.1. What was your 60 foot time?

  • the lightning will beat that tundra sorry to say. And qwerty u cant have an 05 lightning, they stopped making them in 04. But the tundra wasnt made to compete with the lightning, actually nothing really has been made to compete with it since 04

  • The SRT-10 was faster in all aspects than the Lightning.

I will agree the Tundra was not designed to compete with the Lightning... however compete is a broad word, and I believe the 0-60 times of 6 seconds in stock Reg. Cab would be competing.

  • actually your worng. Do some research and read the numbers SRT10 is big and heavy and slower that the lightning on the start, top end is a different story. Ive seen a lightning vs a srt10, both my friends, lightning won

  • Did some research for you NeXtras. This is what I have. Truck Trend did a test of a 2004 SRT10 and a 2004 Ford Lightning.

    0-60

    SRT 10 = 4.9 seconds

    Lightning = 5.2 seconds

    1/4 Mile

    SRT 10 = 13.3 @ 106.9 MPH

    Lightning = 13.6 @ 102.0 MPH

I'm right, you're wrong, thanks for playing.

  • Ask anyone, the lightning is quicker. It all comes down to power to weight ratio. The Lightning is considerably lighter than the SRT10, regardless of the fact that the SRT has 2 more cylinders, the Lightning is also Supercharged and lighter.

  • Your also talking about 3 tenths of a second, depending on weather and launch can make or break the race. The Lightning is equiped with a performance automatic tranmision which on the line makes a considerable difference over the SRT10 which has a 6 speed manual. Although numbers dont lie, your only coming from one source. Ive seen multiple races with the SRT10 vs. the lightning, each time the lightning won, search on here and you'll see the lightning winning

  • The weight difference is 500 lbs, every site I've seen with 0-60 times has had the Ram at 4.8 or 4.9 seconds. The Lightning MAY equal the SRT10 but with the same drivers in the same weather the SRT10 will not lose to the Lightning.

  • You dont go to the drag strip much do you? Ive seen it first hand, the L gets off the line much faster. Search here on youtube Lightning vs. SRT10 99.9% of the time the lightning won!

  • That Was FAST!!

  • only the first batch of trucks had a cam problem...i work at toyota .

  • Any news on the TRD supercharger? :)

  • cant wait.when they come out im gettin one.ill let u know exact date

  • Hmmm, shdfd, did anyone ever say that Toyota had more US factories than GM?

  • I hope you Die Toyota!

  • i was wondering this guy keeps posting this like the bad of the tundra is like really bad is that true like its moves alots on a rouhgt road

  • yea, there was no recall, the engines were fixed before they got to the consumers.

  • xmiltsx: You are correct there hasn't been a recall yet, but they did hit the market. People who got them have waited up to 14 days to get their trucks back.

  • No recalls yet chuck, what are you talking about?

  • Show me a first year redesigned truck that hasn't had any problems out the gate. Like they say, that's what the warranty is for. =)

  • Hmm chuck, sounds like you are slightly jealous of the powertrain the Tundra offers.

  • If I ever see you on the road I'll burn your rice! lol

  • Yes, Toyotas are built in the USA. Most domestic automakers (if not all) manufacture their products in other countries like Mexico. I'm not racist, but I'd rather have someone that could speak english to build my truck than someone that lives in a 3rd world country. I am happy with my '07 Tacoma and have been a proud owner of Toyotas for a few years.

  • Viet, Mexico most certainly is not a 3rd world country. Also the number of plants in Mexico that produce automobiles used in American is quite small.

  • Hey guys! Keep defending the Toyota. Gotta love that 5.7 liter being recalled.

Toyota, moving forward in recall numbers.

    Gundamorion: I don't care.

  • lol nice one. I'm not surprised they are having a few problems with a brand new engine. At least their taking care of it, every case I've heard so far, if they even think you have a faulty engine they are replacing it right away. So far only about 20 trucks have been recalled, was a fault early in the production of the engine that was corrected very quickly.

  • You gotta love the spin toyota puts on things. This engine has been in development for 6 years and they only recalled 20 huh? I guess I had 15 of those 20. My entire fleet has new engines and it only took them 2 months to figure it out. I am pissed.

For Sale: $19,000 each. Will consider offers.

    15 2007 Toyota Tundras.

5.7 V8 each with less than 600 miles.

    e-mail apr_vX_@_yahoo . com

  • Wow, really sorry to hear about you problems. Well if all this is true Toyota has a lot of work to do. Doesn't surprise me that they would try to down play it by saying only 20 or so were effected. Hopefully they will take care of everyone with problems quickly.

  • would you like a truck built by a Japanese company inside the united states or would you like a truck built by an American company imported from outside the united states? which one is truly foreign. You tell me.

  • I just don't get why people always try to hate...I'm sure they are just mad because they bought their truck before the Tundra came out, and now they are jealous cuz they are stuck with what they have (not everyone here, just the haters). I drive a Dodge truck, but these new Tundras are awesome.

  • And don't forget Mario and Luigi, the plumbing duo!

  • uh does the new tundra have a govaner(spelled wrong i know) on it like the chevys and gmc's?

  • Yes, different models have different limits but mine is set at 115mph. Still has a lot of pull left at that speed, it's like hitting a wall when it cuts off. I think the TRD off road ones are set at 105mph.

  • that sucks o well it would be pretty fast with out it though

  • dumb shit their built in the u.s buy us under toyotas name

  • Yea havent you seen the sticker on the back window "Born in Texas Built by mexicans"

  • true built in san antonio tx .....

  • thats right 210 town haha!

  • Stop comparing american cars to foreigns. Foreigns are better built, longer lasting and more reliable. Period!

  • So... the Tundra is a joke compared to the Silverado. Even with the "crappy" 4 speed the Silverado has it still gets better MPG and pulls more.

  • Better MPG? Not according to most reviews.

  • Better MPG hands down and with a 4 speed. Toyotas best with a 6 speed is 17/20. The Silverados best is 16/22.

  • That's the EPA rating hooked up to a machine. Under real world driving the Tundra actually gets better mileage. Sorry, find something else to complain about.

  • Don't care. I see better numbers in my Silverado then I do in any of my fleet Tundras. I have 8 07 Tundras in my fleet. I see real world every day as part of my job. Don't bull shit me kid. I have been driving trucks longer than you have known how to operate one. If the huge incentives were not on the tundra to buy them as my fleet trucks then I would have bought the Silverado as my w/t.

  • If you have real world numbers then why are you quoting EPA numbers? Give us some examples of your real world gas mileage. What engines are you running? I'm sure your employees drive the shit out of the fleet trucks so that could be a major factor. Regardless I'm still happy with my truck and wish you the best of luck with yours. Peace

  • 5.7 v8 with the six speed in ALL of them and I see about 14 combined out of them. My Silverado with the 5.3 Aluminum v8 averages 18 My drivers don't "drive the shit" out of anything. My company constantly monitors for crap like that.

  • Fleet trucks? Incentives on 07 Tundras? What are you smoking? 07 Tundra reg cabs are 4-5 grand more than a F150 or silverado. You probably bought remaining 06 Tundras that the dealer was desperately trying to get rid of. Ford, chevy and Dodge are practically giving away their trucks just to clear out the storage lots. The only incentive now is 1000 xtra trade-in, and 2.9 apr.

  • I got $3k in incentives plus the Toyota fleet discount. In total I got $6K taken off each truck. This is in Metro Detroit. Incentives vary state to state. Yes, Toyota does sell Fleet and they have seen those numbers increase.

  • Well that does seem to be rather bad mileage. I'm hovering around 17mpg with a little hard driving, but about 70% of my driving is hwy so that helps. Besides the mileage, how are the trucks holding up/performing?

  • blah blah blah. Any monkey can drive a pickup truck. drive an 18 wheeler or a fire engine, if you drive anything like that, then your a true truck driver. I can drive my ambulance better than you in your chevy.

  • hey bob9ered. The gm 4 speed is a POS. The toyota 6 speed keeps the rpm lower so the engine doesn't have to work hard. The gm has better mpg acording to the epa because of active fuel management, but AFM doesn't help city mileage. If toyota had AFM it would kick the silverado in the rear for mpg. The silverado may do the same if it had the 6 speed or a cvt.

  • It's a pickup. I have a 335i that does 0-60 is less than 5 seconds, do I go and post a video about it? No.

  • Do you come on youtube and leave comments on videos you apparently care nothing about? Yes.

  • Because theres 50 other videos of the 335i.

  • Very nice man! Keep them coming.

  • nice
