Not all remakes of horror movies suck. What do you think of The Thing, The Fly, The Blob, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, King Kong, Dawn of the Dead, Night of the Living Dead, Last House on The Left, Hills Have Eyes, Cat People, 2001 Maniacs, Toolbox Murders, Halloween, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Friday The 13th, The Ring, Amityville Horror, My Bloody Valentine 3D, House on Haunted Hill, and Cape Fear remakes?
Which Invasion Of The Body Snatchers movie are we talking about because all of the remakes of that film SUCKED. Last House On The Left was ok, Dawn Of The Dead was a good remake but missed out on the entire point Romero was making in his version. The Night Of The Living Dead remake by Savini is my favorite. I prefer it to the original, The Halloween remake sucked, House on Haunted Hill sucked, Texas Chainsaw Sucked, My Bloody Valentine Sucked, Amityville Horror sucked.
Not all horror remakes Suck. Like Toolbox Murders, (King Kong isn't a horror remake), The Blob, Last House On The Left was campy to begin with so the remake was better than the original and Cape Fear was good besides that, all those movies u listed suck. The Firday The 13th remake was shit because it was more a sequel than a remake. If Jason didn't find the mask it could have been like a sequel or prequel to Jason Goes To hell.
great video and the part about Freddy being wrongly accused is not true he molested and killed children in the new movie if you go to joblo or whatever the website is called they have pictures of Jackie before Freddy gets burned and hes outside of a preschool and they have a little description of what hes doing its pretty disturbing which is good for the film
Personally, I don't think that remakes should stay 100% true to the original. Yeah, keep the basic idea. But I don't wanna see the same movie again. Why call it a remake?
I like Freddy's look. But I also liked the Halloween remake (For being differant, but having the same idea). So I guess I'm weird.
Not weird, just open minded...there is nothing wrong with feeling that way, it's exactly how I feel. People should just step back and soak the films up for what they are. As long as they are good, and have a fresh take on the story/characters, then that is perfect, and what a reboot/remake should be. I wanna be surprised by a film, especially those based on comics and books, I've already read the story, now give me a new one...ya know? I may be rambling but I just can't stand elitists/purists!
What is CW horror ? Are you referring to the TV station ? If so, I do not think Scream spawned that type of horror. Scream is more like a slasher horror. And the original Halloween spawned that type of horror.
The only good reasons to make remakes are... 1. Take a good idea from a old movie and update it. For example, The Thing. A perfect update of a50's horror movie. 2. To reboot a dying Francaise. Example, Batman Begins. The Batman Francaise was dead and enough time has passed to try to forget Batman & Robin and introduce Batman to a new generation.
We will have to see about A Nightmare on Elm St. I hope Freddy was lying about being Innocent. Its wrong to have him be an Innocent man.
You know that the script for the Nightmare on Elm street remake was released a while ago. If your looking to see how the story is going to be, you can read that?

What about Cat People, The Hills Have Eyes, 2001 Maniacs, or The Fly? all good remakes of horror.
Johnlindsey289 2 years ago
from what i read some were that they will put some more make up on there with cgi but if you ever seen a real burn victim it changes you.

I agree. The Scream franchise was done. There is no need for 4. I guess they thought everybody else is making a remake we must as well.
toekneebeeears 2 years ago
Do you think Saw is already the Scream franchise of the new millenium?
Johnlindsey289 2 years ago
I would never compare Saw to Scream. Saw should have ended at 3.
DrZhivag0x 2 years ago
No, besides being horror they have nothing in common. In what way do you think Saw is like Scream ?
toekneebeeears 2 years ago
Both are trendsetters you know, one spawned CW horror and other spawned mainstream torture horror.
