As someone who lived through the 90's, I can't say how much comic book fans wanted this one!  In the early to mid 90's, Venom and Wolverine were easily Marvel's most popular anti-hero characters. Fans were yearning to see them slug it out.

Venom simply overpowered Logan and rendered him unconscious.

Up until this point I assume Logan has never faced something quite like Venom. So he may have just been caught off guard a bit.

Plus this is Ultimate Wolverine who isn't quite as durable as the original 616 Wolverine. That may have played a small part in this fight as well.

They're both viscous. Depending on the circumstances either one could win against the other in a fight in either continuity.

Ironically the title character was the least likable one in the cast and it was a bit unlikely that his immaturity/ incredible "scrawniness" would lead to acts of bravery or sacrifice. Also his voice+his corny jokes+weak sarcasm had a bad effect on me (*falls in water*, "Glug.. Did I say 'glug'!?"). An adult spiderman is a lot less nauseating and I'll always prefer the Amazing one.

But perhaps it's stupid to dwell on it anyway.

@HollowWithin001 No hard feelings. First off Wolverine has Superhuman abilities such as the strength factor. He can lift up to 2 tons. Might not be much in the superhero community but add the factor of unbreakable bones I say it fairs pretty well. Second his abilities such as his agility where he can dodge bullets and etc. I know Wolverine is known for getting shot up but he has the ability to dodge him. His fighting capabilities added on top of this make him a fair contender against Vemon.

Wolverine does not have super speed like Quick Sliver but he has Super Human speed as in going beyond a normal human's abilities. Also with his unbreakable bones and heavy bones make him a pretty fast person. Wolverine is by no means a HUMAN with claws. One of the main things that make Wolverine an extremely dangerous person is his experience and intelligence. Through years of combat and training Wolverine is a master martial artist.

Also since I'm not that big fan of Spider Man and his villains I read up on Venom. How is Wolverine pathetic compared to Venom. Only thing Venom has on abilities is his strength and his immunity to Spider Sense. But unlike Spider Man Wolverine doesn't use Spider Sense (obviously) he has his feral senses. In a one on one that ability will be rendered useless. His camouflage ability will be also useless since Wolverine can just sniff him out or the Venom symbotie.

Wolverine is a better fighter and has his healing factor/adamantium.

Venom has 15 tons of power and a healing factor granted by the symbiote.

Its a close call. They've both kicked each other asses on a few occasions.

Depends on how the fight goes. Wolverine makes Venom fight until he runs out of the energy he gains from feeding on his victims. Wolverine wins.
