  • God damn, people were trolling even back in those times. Crazy

  • A 65 year old Youtube poop.

  • that bit at 1:22 was so perfect i ran out of the screening room laughing at chairs and screaming profanities.

  • Comment removed

  • Remixes before remixes were cool...

  • Oh those NAZIs and their shenanigans...

  • The 4chan army marches on.

  • 1:24-my

    favourite part

  • @staporinac I don't know how I guessed that, but I knew exactly what you were talking about before i looked it up lol

  • @swezpez Really? How nice!

  • 1:09 is my favourite part of this famous British wartime movie reel. Love it.

  • @maxiboy666 Looks VERY much like a scene from Chaplin's The Great Dictator...!

  • And thus the youtube poop was invented.

  • I see it as compliment to the german army because only our walk is that disciplinied and orderly to fit to this song.

  • I bet Hitler laughed his ass off after watching this shit.

  • FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!

  • @cuntylishus ur retarded its called editing

  • @cuntylishus No. REEEEAAALL. Look it up. It's got its own page on Wikipedia.

  • Anything to make Nazis cross.

  • Comment removed

  • See, this was made before you have all the fancy editing software... just scissors and film cement / glue or tape...

    love this, cleverly made!!

  • in 1984 the propaganda of choice was anger. wuth this video, i believe it is otherwise. humor seems to be more potent

  • Look! Remixed videos are nothing new! This is like the gregory brothers of Allied propaganda.

  • Absolute classic!! We need a taliban version!

  • @besty8769

    Yes, indeed ;-)

How about using "Go West" in the Pet Shop version? ;-)

( since they hate us and our free "infidel" societies, but deep down inside they all want to live here all the same )

( I have this vision of seeing them on flying carpets instead of surf boards - and then crashing ... )

  • @besty8769

Yes, but with the Crank Dat!

  • From some of the comments on here, Basil Fawlty was right.

"You Germans have absolutely no sense of humour".

  • @chapsnaps1 We have a great sense of humour indeed.

  • Hitler konnte der populärste Mann auf Erden gewesen sein, weil jeder weiß, wer er ist

  • @ShortlistTV ....ja!...eine stücke scheiße....

  • I read somewhere that Goeebels had a shit fit when he viewed this.

  • Hitler looks a bit camp here

  • British media trolling the nazi's... beautiful!

  • in denmark we fight for freedom under ww2 . the freedom fighters loved that video

  • @StalkerPoul So true my friend. According to my wife's MA text book (A history of non-fiction film, pp148-151), the Danish Underground made commando raids on occupied cinemas to force it (amongst other things) to be shown, putting armed guards on the cinema doors. They also provided lots of footage for our (UK) newsreels too, via Sweden. They drove around in a van with their driver in Nazi uniform, filming Nazi activities and their own sabotage. RESPECT.

  • That's the mother of trolling.

  • Nazi's got Trolled.

  • absolutely brill, why doesnt someone make a similar thing to 'hitler has only got one ball' truly the most earliest version of a you tube video

  • In 1980 I went with a friend to Denmark to stay with his Danish relatives. Some of them were in the Danish resistance during the war. They told us about watching this clip during their occupation and how it gave them a much needed boost to morale. There is nothing like humour and mockery.

  • The story is even better. The resistance would actually take over movie houses and show this very film for the viewing pleasure of the audience. It served a double purpose:

    1) Take the mickey out of the Germans and

    2) Show the audience that "we are here. We are armed and we - the secret army - are waiting".

How do I know: Some of my relatives were involved in these propaganda actions.

  • @victor190779 Sorry, I replied about 5 posts above so tell the same story (though only from a text book, not family experience). READ THIS EVERYONE IT'S TRUE (REFERENCE ABOVE)

  • Mini - my uncle, who participated in one of these showings, nearly soiled himself, when he found out, that a group of German marine soldiers were in the cinema. However, his group leader firmly suggested to the Germans, that any donations to the freedom struggle would be much appreciated. They all parted with their sidearms without much ado and - my uncle said - he had the feeling that some of them were actually more than happy to help. In another geography they might have joined the partisans.

  • LOL

  • Wow the birth of the Remix!

  • it looks like, someone thinks about in youtube video style in the 40's

  • @uliari True. But you couldn't do a thing like this in your bedroom in those days.

  • ROTFL

  • I'd really like to have seen a similar film making fun of the goose stepping Soviet Socialsts.

  • lol!

"The film so enraged Joseph Goebbels that reportedly he ran out of the screening room kicking chairs and screaming profanities." -wikipedia!

  • Goebbels was notorious for NOT having a sense of humor. He insisted on watching any propaganda film from the Allies to see how Hitler was presented. I would have loved to have seen him throwing a fit over this film!

  • lol! =D

  • @RICKROLLBLENDER

Somebody should follow this up with a mockup of the Inglorious Basterds "nein, nein, nein" meme, but subtitled "Joseph Goebbels reacts to the original rick-roll"!

  • this is hilarious

  • jajajajaaj marchiert marchiert to the walhalla!!!!! where all,the shit is waiting jajajaj, marchiert marchiert fucking gooses

  • hahaha possibly the first great parody of hitler .... apparently, goebbels went nuts when he saw this, trashed the chairs, wept in the bathroom before vomitting on the floor ... its true.

  • @NathanBForrest1776

Actually, Charlie Chaplin did the first great parody of Hitler, and Mussolini. Google: The Great Dictator (1940)

Remember, Chaplin was putting together the film in 1938, before the war. Ol' Charlie was a little ahead of the curve, when it came to spotting a dangerous buffoon.

Still, Lambeth Walk is still funny, even after all these years. The Nazis hated it so much, they tried to copy it. Failed. Nazis aren't known for their jolly sense of humor. Another weakness.

    .

  • lol of course. gotta love chaplin , though the british were not without serious moral flaws either ... after british imperialism ravaged countries around the world for a far longer time compared to the local damage caused by the nazis during their short reign

  • @NathanBForrest1776

Yes, but then again, the British weren't the most evil scum to ever bubble up out of the very bowels of the cesspool of Humanity, either.

    So, there you go.

  • I think their victims would have told a different story. The only difference here is that the crimes of the nazis were overt and better documented with film and photos. Moreover, the media has a jewish bias. Finally, history is written by the victors. If the nazis had won, our children would be learning anglophobic lessons instead of anti-nazi lessons.

  • Omega573: As I say in my commentary: It is now illegal in Venezuela to make fun of the president or any of his sidemen. You can say and make in radio or TV or newspapers, indirect remarks about the government, but any direct reference to a real person can be punished by law. Of course I know a lot of cartoons are made daily in the world about the madmen that now guide our national destiny, but I was talking of humour and caricatures in Venezuela itself, where I live.

  • Hahaha this is like a very early YouTube video, in that it's a video spoof. This pissed Goebbels off big time.

  • On reflecting on this remarkable film clip, I think about my country, Venezuela, which had a tradition of humour toward presidents, dictators and politicians, making fun of them, sometimes in a fine way, sometimes coarse jokes. That tradition dates at least from 1840, with cartoons in newspapers and magazines. Now Venezuela´s actual government makes it illegal to make fun of the president or any of his sidemen. But people should be able to laugh of those who play with their destinies.

  • @altontas. The private media ridicules Chavez on a daily basis. In fact the private media attacks the government far more than in any other democracy and even participated in a coup against the democratically elected government.

  • @alontas I think your president...Chavez is a Nazi with a tan...

  • @alontas Come to Germany where its completely legal to make fun of members of the government.I only recommend to arrange for your funeral before telling any joke.

Open murders by the German BND,the renamed GESTAPO:

    Barschel+Möllemann(politicians),H.Gehring(author),M.Pflock(political activist),Tron(internet activist),K.Koch(political/internet activist),B.Seiffert(human rights activist),K.Heisig(author/judge),F.Bauer(persecutor,Frankfurt Auschwitz processes),M.Bott(human rights activist)

  • I wish we had the same spirit today, we miust make fun of moslem terrrorists, show how dumb they are, it seems as tho today we are so scared of a fatwa that we just nurse and cuddle moslem killers.

Past time for a moslem lambeth walk. We can fear the enemy or we can laugh in the face of death.

  • Hey, before you start spewing your shit all over YouTube, can you at least check how to spell the word "Muslim?"

    Thanks, bud!

  • There is no official way to anglicize arabic words, Moslem and Muslim are both acceptable forms of the same word. That being said, hilarious movie!

  • Its Moslem.

  • Nothing to do with a fatwah. Phihellenes made a video mocking a piece of wahabist propaganda. The idiot that posted it filed a false copyrite claim, and youtube took it down like an obliging lapdog.

  • Three cheers for Mr. Charles Ridley! Brilliant man! :)

  • go allied troops down with axis powers!!!

  • hey CineGraphic, it would be nice if you changed the title into "The Lambeth Walk (Dancing Nazis & German Soldiers)" Because obviously most Soldiers just wanted to fight for their country and not for the policies of their country. A smal,l but important difference... most Wehrmacht soldiers were NOT Nazis.

    Thanks.

  • Comment removed

  • But some of them, and problably quite many of them, where nazis or at least sympathetic to the cause....so what are we gonna compromise on here?

"Dancing Nazis & German Soldiers Who May Or May Not Be Nazis"?

    i mean come on..

  • Well, we're no better than them if we just push everybody into one slot, that's all. Of course some were Nazis but my granpa for example helped people during the war,al though beeing a soldier, and never thought best about the nazis...I just stated that comment to preserve an ince of justice, and do not actually think that the title will be changed ;) hope you got my point...

  • Who's to say that your Grandpa helped people? Your Grandpa says so, but did you hear this from anyone else? Have you ever met anyone he helped? I'm sure that some soldiers DID help people, but many other soldiers are in total denial of what they participated in and will say anything to remove themselves from the death and madness that we call war.

  • I don't know what to think of your comment but 'Dancing Nazis' is totally correct.

The Footage was mostly taken of Leni Riefenstahl's 'Triumph of Will' and in the original film all soldiers should appear as 'faithful' Nazis because it was a Propaganda movie.

Just like this one...just that Britain had more humour ;)

  • And Goebbels didn't laugh?

  • Goebbels was notorious for NOT having a sense of humor.

  • No, he didn't look like the warm and fuzzy type. He looked like he had an ice cube up his butthole.

  • yeah you may have better guns and training but we have video editing software. take that Nazis!

  • Comment removed

  • 1:19 "Oh, I forgot to mention..."

  • I laughed at this. Adolf and the gang are such an entertaining bunch, no? 8D

  • Charles Ridley, credited at the film's end, was an editor for the British Ministry of Information. He was a very brave man to put his name on the film, since at that time, the war could have gone either way!

  • heh nice...damn goosewalking fascists

  • what were those 3 guys saying near the end?

  • Sounds like 'mind the gap' and 'rise and shine'

'mind the gap' was a recorded warning for riders of the London underground(subway) telling them not to step in the gap between the train and the platform. They still do it, btw.

  • mind the gap, and stand clear of the doors..:)

  • Hahaha very good!

Despite their funny marches though, the German army was one of the best in the world, and almost definitely the best equipped.

  • Thugugbob has right. The German army was the best army in the world. It took the whole world to defeat Nazi-Germany!

  • They were prepepared for war you numpty, we weren't. After Dunkirk a German Officer congratulated the British army on the way they managed to retreat, not surrender, & how they were rescued so succesfully. We did o.k.

  • The British could escape, because Hitler let them do that. Learn your history, you stupid!

  • So Hitler just let them! Where do you get your ideas from?! The troops were BOMBED on the beaches. Doesn't look like letting them get away to me. The 2 mistakes Hitler made were trying to bomb the R.A.F. into defeat, & the civilian population, & then giving us a breather by doing 'a Napolean' & attacking Russia. I do know my history, I was born just after the war. We were a people with backbone then!

  • Hitler could defeat the British @Dunkirk, but hasn't given the command. Because he wanted the British to join Germany. Second, bombing the RAF wasn't his mistake. Bombing London was. If he kept bombing the RAF, it would be destroyed at the ground and his armies could invade England. I'm not born after WW2, but it is clear I know a lot more about it then you. (No offence)

  • You obviously haven't heard of RADAR. As Churchill said "we are an island again". My father was on airfields that the Luftwaffe bombed. The fighters were able to 'scramble' because of RADAR. As bombers needed protection from the R.A.F. the planes on the ground were targeted, but they weren't on the ground, they were in the air waiting. Goebbels promised to wipe out the RAF so that a sea invasion could take place. Didn't happen so had to swap to cities. Have a nice day.

  • Hitler let them? Hehe, that is a pretty outrageous statement. But nevertheless interesting. Could you point to some sources that can back up this claim?

  • HAHAHA! I would have given anything to see Goebbel's throw a fit like the little bitch that he was after seeing this movie!

  • According to a witness, Goebbels left his screening room kicking chairs and "screaming the vilest of profanities" after watching this.

  • Nazis. Can't take a joke can they? Miserable sods.

  • Hinhörendes Amerikahaus Bö Stäben Historien Port serien Tods. the fuher

  • translation:

Hindenburg, in an american house stabs history, because serious port gives him the fantods.

    (post in Eniglish, please)

  • always makes me laugh !

Most of the from the famous(or infamous) film "The Triumph of the will" which is worth looking at btw

  • heh thats funny poor nazi's delusional

  • brilliant, you clever, clever people.

  • LOL wow talk about old school remix!

  • Almost as good as "Springtime for Hitler"!

  • I always found it a bit heavy-handed (right-hands a bit lighter, to salute) BUT I love the song and the neatly-Movieola-edited send-up. I can just imagine English audiences in particular roaring with laughter in the cinemas.

  • Shame they never got any footage of Goebbels onto this - would've have been funny what with his clubbed foot.

  • HAHAHA.

that is quite possibly one of the funniest things i have ever seen.

  • Oi!

  • Marvellous, happy happy times, soon we will be dancing in the streets of London once again, clear out all the piccaninnies and muslim scum and have a real drink and a dance! Heil me!

  • Ho ho! Pearly Kings and Queens have all been ethnically cleansed anyway. Bring on the Caliphate!

  • Frigging Nazis!

  • LOL hahahaahah

  • there's a video on youtube of hitler in full-flow at nuremberg or somewhere, which fits very nicely if you play "Emperor of Lancashite" by George Formby behind it!

  • Finally! 70 years later, something to laugh about regarding NAZIs!

  • lol, watching this high while listening to Der Mussolini made this video awesome.

  • Quoting Wikipedia: "In 1942 Charles A. Ridley made a short propaganda film, Lambeth Walk - Nazi Style, which edited existing footage of Hitler and Nazi soldiers (taken from Leni Riefenstahl's Triumph of the Will) to make it appear as if they were marching and dancing to "The Lambeth Walk". The film so enraged Josef Goebbels that he ran out of the screening room kicking chairs and screaming profanities."

  • Saw an interview with Fritz Hippler, one of Leni Refenstahl's associates. He told it a but differently. Said he began laughing, Goebbles wasn't pleased, but then Frau Goebbles began laughind and "For me the moment was saved"

  • Either way, the Nazi brass were infamous for not having a sense of humor, especially when they were the butt of the jokes.

  • No Kidding! Good thing they made some of the boneheaded decisions regarding military strategy during(and actually even before) the war

Had they not it could have gone the other way, or lasted a lot longer and been even bloodier than it was.

  • Bravo, CineGraphic!!!!
