  • OMG that takes me back!!

  • Anyway had planned for the next session of Swingtime already had some more of Neil's music lined up so will post shortly..to make things go with a swing Good to hear from you and thanks for your comments.

  • I totally agree with you. Neil was a fantastic musician, and in the style of all fantastic musicians, his music was adored much later in life, like the great opera makers. All I will say is he is very much one of the key players in the popularity of trade music and why there is so much of it on You Tube. Of course back in it's time trade played until 7.30pm right into prime time and the music had to be good enough for that. Scotch Broth, one of his key works remains extremely popular to this day

  • Neil was one of life's true gentleman. I was very saddened y his passing

  • A nice tribute to Neil. he wrote some superb music and his orchestral arrangements were absolutely first rate. I knew Neil back in the mid 70's when he conducted the Northern radio orchestra and went to a session there and latterly at maida vale. I lost touch with him for some years but found out he was kiving in Spain and we emailed each other on regular ocassions, He sent me some of his recordings and believe it or not I sent him a recording of Firebird as he didn't have a copy!
