I remember in beginner's snowboarding class they had us ride down the bunny slope with one foot out of the bindings and I could never make it 2 ft cuz my foot would slip off the board. Lol. Skiers don't have much trouble cuz they have poles for balance, and boarders have nothing to hold onto but hope and pray they don't fall down the lift slope. xD

This is a pretty steep dismount. This happened to me when I was a beginner at Whistler, and the lifty stood there laughing. Not nice!

Boarders should jam their back foot against the bindings, and it would be good to have a stomp pad right there too. Watch my video for a hint that can help in this situation.

lifts werent designed with snowboarders in thought..... they were made for skiiers hence how skiiers just sit there and get pushed off.... snowboarders have to put their foot in the right place lean the right way and get in the right position to get off.....

Ive been working lifts for 4 years. There is no sign in the world that can tell these idiots what to do. all they have to do is say "I'm new" and any lifty can give them a 2 step instruction on how to get off and they still get that wrong.

I just started snowboarding, so I don't mean to sound elitist, but i think people fall because they over complicate it. just put your other foot down as if it were strapped in, stand like normal, and go straight down the ramp. haha and then stop somewhat graceful-ish and crawl to where you need to strap it. i dunno, is it just me that thinks this?

I laugh every time i pass other boarders with their asses on their ground re-strapping their feet in, while i just slip my foot in and keep up with my friends on ski's. They're durable too, i've had my pair for 7 years now.

@Mu5ik4Life depends which model, they are not for park use by a long shot, but for glades and normal riding i've felt they are just as responsive as a standard binding, the newest models address this issue and if you're willing to spend the money they are very low profile.

I snowboard and I personally find it like 10 times easier to just keep both feet strapped in on my board. I can get on and off the lift way easier this way. Every time I do this I get yelled at, though. I'm not sure why the operators yell at me. So many people are terrible at using the lift that it seems like they'd be fine with the rider doing whatever makes it easier for them (within reason).

lol, me and my friend were skiing, he came off the lift, fell and it caught on his coat and at this place the lift went another 40 feet till the turaround, and he got all the way to the turnaround hanging on his coat before they had to stop the lift lol
