The first five years of mad tv were great,but then they tried to be too much like s.n.l. and really dumbed down the show and started targeting a younger audience, and that was the beginning of the end

"You see, Vicki, people like you are the first signs of the Apocalypse. Shallow, smug, superficial parasites with your insufferable pop culture references that mask creatures devoid of compassion, intellect, and soul. That's why the Millennium Group has been sent to destroy you and the entire Must See TV Line Up. Cue laugh track."
I love this parody (of Millennium) and there two parodies of the X-Files. These shows were bothed created by Chris Carter and both cross paths with each other. Both shows had actor Terry O'Quinn famouse for playing John Lock in LOST.
That kind of odd because the creator of the show Millennium (which this sketch is a parody of) is also the creator of the X-Files tv series which featured an episode in the 7th season called "fight club" guest staring kathy Griffin were she does get her mouth taped up.
I think she gets her mouth taped up by her boy friend (or twin sister's boy friend) who is a suspect in the episode but I do not recall where. Or I could just be imagining these things.
Oh, I so wish the quality was better on this. I _loved_ Millennium, and when I saw this when it first aired, I laughed for months just thinking about it.
Whodya thunk that RICHARD ALBERT would have started on Suddenly Susan? Yeech!

@drumandbasics Is Mad TV and Millennium still on TV either in production or in re-runs?

@amusedtodeath1
Mad tv got cancelled, and is not currently being rerun. Millenium episodes are being rerun on a cable channel called Chiller.

I was watching the first season of Millenium, and I was listening to the pilot's commentary by Chris Carter, and he mentioned this parody. So good!

An ultra-perky sitcom meets a nihilistically bleak, psychotic show like Milennium. Brilliant.

the 4th wall is nothing but a thin veil of twists corpses resting in a pool of blood drained as the decay of civlization devours the innocent.
