Set this up in my basement probably about 1997 and it's still there. Used TYCO Quick-Click slotcar track, and at the time the TYCO Quick-Click H.O. Train Crossing piece was available, and ATLAS H.O. Train Track. Think they can still be found and purchased on the internet. TOMY brand track is more popular now and has a wider selection of track pieces available, but no train crossing offered, but there are Adapter Track pieces available to fit a TYCO Crossing to the TOMY Track.
