  • Must be a new train called the Ghanerland now.

  • The Loco Roster Clerk needs to liase more with the Public Relations people at Great Southern Railway. This type of thing is B Grade as usual and why we put up with it shows nobody actually cares. The NAME TRAINS in other parts of the world take pride in presentation...not so in Australia...close enough is good enough!! When you fly with Virgin or Qantas you do not get an aircraft with a non-descript logo....maybe rarely!!!

  • There are about 24 special liveried NR's, not just in Ghan livery. They get rostered on different pass and freight trains. Sometimes you get a Ghan or IP NR on the Overland, and sometimes you get a normal NR on the Ghan or IP.

  • It doesn't usually.

I'd say they needed a loco to run it and thats all they had. It went back on a freight train the next day back to Adelaide.

  • The ghan does the overland now, why?
