I adore this song. My mom had it on a CD when I was kid and I listened to it over and over. I copied it but never knew who sang it or its real name. I love it! Truly adore.
i love her voice.so she was the first one 2 have that hairstyle which was a fashion trend in the 80's especially in the hood by females with the gold door knocker earrings!!!!!
@blacksultan85 My mom used to do this style all the time when I was a little kid in her salon back in the 50s.she would marcel iron you so good with that Dixie peach hair dressing it would last at least a full two weeks if not more.
shes one of my favorites she had a great career she had to stop for a whille us in the mid being of her career cus she had a baby with clyed micfater of the drifeters on of alntic,s bigest sellers. and ray chreals could not go on with the tour cus she was in it with him but she coudn,t go on with the tuor cus she was having a baby and that compromised the tour Jerry and Amet didn,t know why she cancelled until latter.
Wasn't Clyde McPhatter a member of the Platters not the drifters, or was that earlier? I was alive then, but my memory could be faulty :) (and often is)
Ok, I know many of you will probably take this out of proportion. This wouldn't be Youtube, if you didn't but who cares? Shameless self-promotion here. Don't NOBODY have sass like us Black women!!!!!!! :-)

The Paul Williams band did a great job accompanying Ruth Brown.

My favorite song of hers. I'm fortunate to have seen her perform several times in Las Vegas. She autographed a book for me, too!
