  • is the disney world version the classic one that was made in the 60s or is it a different version?

  • @jlong908 not much difference

  • Oh cool

  • @balto1919 - I know what you mean; I'm the only one of my friends who has been to Disney World!!! D': We're planning on going on a whole road trip to Florida (since we live in Texas) and go there once we're done with high school. And we're definitely getting on the Haunted Mansion >:D

  • @MoonlitSunaChick lol! i know only one of my friends been there!

  • @balto1919: In today's shit-ass economy, most cannot afford it. XD

  • Im going in a month :o) yippy

  • I see, so the light shines on the highlights of the model and then having it reflect onto a window makes the lit up parts look like the ghost and the dark parts would become transparent. Good idea.

  • The organ is indeed the actual prop of Captain Nemo's organ in 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea released in 1954. When the movie exhibit was removed, the prop moved to the attraction itself.

  • cant wait to go t disneyland

  • There is only one Disney...

  • Blaine Gibson is the king.

  • I was just there 3 weeks ago and I noticed that the crystal ball with the head inside floats. I don't recall seeing that back in September. When did they make the change?

  • @N2GLOCK1 they made it during thye current refurbishent done to the park that made the attraction a little bit spookier.

  • @sillysquash1: Constance is NOT scary. Emily tragedy was a LOT scarier and more depressing. Constance, by comparison, is a weak cliche.

  • @N2GLOCK1 i saw it floating and it was so bad! i could c the strings even in the dark!!! watever they used should not b used again!!!

  • This really is the happiest place one earth. Absolutely great! You forget all the bad things going on in the world. Absolutely great.

  • I live in England. I've been to the Haunted Mansion in Walt Disney World in Florida once and to Disneyland Paris three times. This ride has always been one of my favourites :)

Hopefully, I will be going again in the summer ^^ Even though I am fifteen, the magic of disney never grows old.

  • i live in SF, pretty far from disney, but at least its better that illinois!

  • Is there a tutorial to make the ballroom scene in your own house???????

  • Wahahaha that would be interesting...

  • to make it in your own house?? with the ghosts?? uhh yah, i guess its possible, but you'd have ot be a mad engineerer/designer of some sort. check out "Pepper's Ghost" on wikipedia if you want the ins and outs of it, i suppose.

  • i just went to Disney land this summer i went on the haunted mansion about 4 times and i guess they changed some things

  • Help me understand the pepper ghost effect!!

So are the 'real' ghosts actually there somewhere in the mansion out of guests view, but somehow they are reflected onto and empty ballroom to make them appear they are there?

  • yea thats bassically it

  • Nailed it. The "ghosts" are actually reflections in the glass.

  • The real animatronic figures are below your Doom Buggy-- painted very light colors. They shine a light onto the figures, which bounces them off of the monstrously huge pane of glass which you look through at the Ballroom scene. You're seeing their reflection as if they're in a window.

You can make your own pepper's ghost rather easily with a glass from a picture frame, a paper cut-out, and a flashlight.

  • i took a tour backstage and what they have is manikins twirling in the ballroom or a room next to it. some type of net screen is between the viewers and the manikins and a special black light shines through the net and makes the manikins appear transparent.

  • I knew how they did the effect for a long time, but what I'm wondering is how you got to tour backstage. Know anyone working at Disney? Or do you work there perhaps? :)

  • i went on a school field trip. so going with the school gave us a deal or sumthing. also, i live in florida, so maybe florida schools get a little sumthin extra that others dont. idk, lol.

  • Of, that's pretty cool! I wish I lived there, LA sucks!

  • lol really? i wanna live in l.a! im sick of south beach and stuff like tht.

  • Hey hey, I love living in Miami :)

  • Louisiana?! xD

  • you both hav it pretty good. try living in illinois

  • Hey, LA gets the original Disneyland.

  • YERE!!!! Im going next year for my 16th Birthday!

  • no matter how old you are you still love it im going tommorrow :)

  • We've been holding back and saving our Haunted Mansion coverage! So far, we've covered Expedition Everest and POTC on PipersPicksTV - but HM certainly is on the books!

  • they took out the ghose accet out side use to be better old times there were partyies out side of the mantsion on halodays

  • you mean party's and holidays?

  • I can't stop thinking what was in the the old verson... There were poeple literaly having hart attacks in that... and a rumor of a snake pit...

  • None of that ever happened. ;)

  • That peppers ghost effect must of been tricky to align all up.

  • Oh This is sooo fantastic!!!! AHHH I remember being so scared of this ride. I really wanna go back now lol. This documentary was great! I <3 YouTube lol
