The left ball raises, indeed. You're missing the point of his trick and there inlay the clue to it all - It's a trick. Just like David Copperfield made the Statue of Liberty disappear. It didn't really disappear, he just made it look like it had. In this case, Derren has successfully fooled a nation in to thinking how it was all possible. The only thing you've really proven is that one of the lottery balls was raised due to the heat from the lights causing a slight expansion and squeezing effect
@digitalwarfares FINALLY, someone else see this supposed "Proof" for what it really is. The ball might not have even risen at all. the shots pictured here were taken from 2 different zoom levels, so the ball might have always been slightly up, its just that the top of the ball fell on a pixel division, so this couldn't be seen. I cant really see that ball rising more than the height of a pixel between the two shots, which further substantiates my theory.
i think it is very relevant as the only reason it moved i looked it up on wikidedia and they said that a temporary minor black hole cause the refraction of the light to seem as if the ball moved and that the screen was not actually split in half more that they green screened a man to pretend to be the lottery ball and then quickly flipped round the refractions of light to show that the lottery was in fact truely predicted :S so i dont know what your on about by the way i am spanish

so basically wot u r saying is dat js afta the lottery numbers wer shown they quick split to a pre recorded image of him showing the lottery numbers so that no matter wot the numbers wer they alredy had it recorded WITH derren brown in the video so he must of recorded over 4 million takes with all the diff numbers then played the rite tape last secnd hmmmmm okay very unlikly! his mind is jus on another level he jus tinks deeply about things and figures thm out he spents over a year predictin!
No. What I'm saying is that there was a split screen covering the live feed of the balls so someone could come in and place the correct balls in the stand just after they were announced, then the split screen was removed and Derren turned the balls around.
If only they'd gone for one more second, if only that stage hand had pushed 38 into place that fraction of an inch more, then the nation would still be clueless. And yet...

So in the fraction of the time from the draw on the BBC to when he showed the numbers he had someone stoped recording to switch the balls around??? Nice theory even though totally impossible theory.
love how this trick has raised so much debate and question... most people realise it's a trick, yet none of us know exactly how he's done it. That's down to what he does best; mind games... there are loads of ways he could use camera trickery etc to do this, but he's still put that LITTLE seed of "what if he actually did this for real?" in everyone's mind, whether you think it's there or not :) can't wait 'til the next show.
So who cares if he used a split screen, all that matters is when he revealed the numbers for the first time, a majority of people were taken back by it and thats the whole point of magic and illusion wheres the fun of taking it apart and seeing how its done? I personally think hes really good at what he does. Unless you're really picky, or even envious for the trick just let him do what he does
people like derren are losers so they come up with big stunts the lottery can not be predicted ever ever ever ever only by luck and him getting it right first time well wot a coincidence he got it right wot a pile of shit now he is fucking famous its wots called a publicity stunt and by the way if u did it u would crap your self if it went wrong u would look such a fucking retard so its been cleared up he used somthing like splitscreen even if the balls were riged there a chance of going wrong
hahaha. yes it was a publicity stunt. and you have fallen for it just like everyone else. so stop talking like he didnt get you too becasue your one here debating it!!!!!
com on he has no chance of geting it right no1 should belive it in the first place the matter of the fact he cant predict the lottery and the chance of 1 slight error would be 1 in 1look derren brown you have people talking about you so come clean of FUCING COURSE HE USED SPLIT SCREEN WOT THE FUC ELSE WOULD HE DO EVEN IF THE BALL WERE RIGED HE WOULD STILL GET IT RONG now he fucing famous cos people like uare trying to guess it well wot a bunch of dumbasses
There is another guy that shows you exactly how this was done. It was done with a split screen with cameras that were perfectly still and aligned. The shake is done with a computer to give the impression it would be hard to do a split screen with such shaky camera work. Unfortunately for Derren the shake was too obvious and even when I originally believed how he did this, I thought it was odd the camera shook so much. So check out the guy on youtube who shows exactly how this was done
Why the low rating? Nothing wrong with this hypothesis. Anything is more rational than magic/psychic and THAT is the entire point. I LOVE IT!.. sadly, I wonder how many people realize it...I do stupid tricks like this, they work on some people, and when I explain how I did it THEY DONT FUCKING BELIEVE ME! They think I actually do have some mind reading ability! AGH!
If you allow for the time lag the BBC use in case anyone swears, plus the time lag of analog vs digital (although he may have had a plant in the BBC audience with a mobile), plus his bluster about the bonus ball - plenty of time to do this in.
Camera shake is probably real, no need for hi tech, they are filming a live projection on a screen at key stages, not live events in the studio. The screen is split but when then film the screen and wobble camera it wobbles as one, cos its one screen. You can just see the flicker as the feed is switched between cams from one in studio to one filming a screen.
I think if it was splitscreen it would have been difficult to pull off as the camera wobbles throughout the whole program, to have a splitscreen you would need to to have another camera wobbling in unison, which is almost impossible.
The camera shake is not real camera shake, its probably just camera shake effect to make people think just what you said. Look closely and notice how rhythmic the ``shake`` is. Its certainly split screen. How would that shake happen?? If was in hand it would be random shaking. Why would camera not just be on a mount and perfectly steady. Its to make it look like split screen could`t be the answer.
there's a third camera zoomed in slightly so in the editing studio they can add a shake to it (it's on a tripod so they zoom in and it creates the effect)
This isn't proof, as the distortion around the balls increases as it would with a different angle, therefore the ball could ,possibly, only appear to raise . I'm not saying that your wrong, but that this isn't 'hard proof'.
Yeah his explanation was not true. It didn't make sense. He is most likely building up to some giant stunt over the course of this series. I hope so anyway.
AHAHAAHHAAHAHAHA you fucking make me puke, so because youre too retarded to understand something it means that its not true? i bet you dont know wtf an atom is but they exist..
Just because the man on the telly said something was true doesn't mean it is. It would appear that it is you who doesn't understand because if you did you would realise that his "system" is effectively just a very long method of guessing.
his reavling is a trick in its self to get you to believe what hes saying. he evan shows that hes doing this in the show by making everyone think theres a mouse when there wasent or that the man could step on a knife when there wasnt. also statistically it was nonsense the previous results have no bearing on future eg if a two hasnt come up in the last year it doesnt make it more or less likely to come up next time. also correctly done he should have taken the median, not the mean.u decide
Correct good sir he was lying notice how his revelation was ambiguous and open for interpretation. The so called deduction due to randomness was a lie or rather should I say the illusion. However he did it he did not reveal it he only led people to think he did.
you're right...theres no sensible explanation for why they had to use a handheld camera.why not mount it on a pod. the shaking could easily have been added afterwards
watch one of the adverts where everything this backwards when he cross's the road backwards be goes past a lamppost. the lottery numbers are on the lamppost so he clearly didnt use a camera trick
Great theory although to back it up you may actually want to watch that ad again, I just did and found the numbers n the lamppost are different than the ones he supposedly "predicted"
also if he had put the real prediction on the lamp post, imagine what would have happened if people all went out and brought lottery tickets with those numbers on - chaos!
Regardless of how he did it though, the point is Channel 4 will get their viewers on Friday night at 9 o clock, and that's all they want as a broadcaster.
he wouldt do a camera trick...he earns a fortune... a camera trick would ruin his carrer.... hes obv far from stupid enuf to risk lookin like a twat...
there will be some form of trickery but it will be based on peoples latteral thinking...
look no one here knows how he did and no one will until 9 tonight. and to the guy how put this up on you tube, you must have nothing better to do with your time! pmsl
The guy who posted the video obviously investigated this. I wouldn't say he "must have nothing better to do with your [his] time". If people never investigated things in detail, we would have had far less scientific discoveries etc.
The numbers on the lamp post are different in that advert. Anyway, I am a big fan of Derren. I just enjoy trying to figure out how he does his tricks before he reveals it. It would be unfortunate if it was the camera trick because it would seem like a cop out.
oh good i cant stand the pricks who are like "oh derren brown dosent have magical powers i have proof" derren never said this trick used no camera trick tbh still think your wrong no affiance and the numbers where the same but not the same order"
he got computer hackers to put the numbers on the video in real time. its a green screen trick used by paul daniels. its looks amazing but he didnt predict anything. he sees only blank balls. they can be moved and the computer draws the correct image. derren is doing nothing using special effects that look like mind tricks. he wont be honest about how he does it on friday either. he will tell u he uses some mathematical crap. its horseshit.
you are quite wrong sir. if you watch the video, you actually see one ball slowly rise up over a 10 second period. its not even noticable except that if you look before, all the balls are level, and then 10 seconds later, the left ball is clearly a little higher than the rest.
Get a grip it's camera trickery..end off!!..proofs on this vid and many more..prob sacked ball placer by now..lol..also u can see him look at someone when last two balls are drawn..!!!
I agree, no it's not a 'fake' people - it's an illusion or a trick, exactly what derren brown is, an illusionist! Don't feel cheated, it's brilliant nontheless and has had us all talking!
This is probably the best advertising stunt Channel 4 have done for a long long time! We are all going to watch channel 4 on friday even though chances are it was just a split screen trick. Derren can tell us any method in the universe he just arbitrarily makes up and we will be none the wiser. It is excellent work by channel 4, I say well done.
Why would Derren Brown, a genius in Illusion and sceptism, put his bloody reputation at risk over some cheap camera fiddle, he just would'nt do it. I think we're all looking into it all too much.
How could you describe this as a "cheap camera fiddle"? This would be far from some cheap camera fiddle. Rather, an extraordinarily elaborate and complex special effect which would have taken a lot of time and expertise to perfect.
Why the hell would they spend all that money on camera's, the ten minute slot on C4, the meetings with Camelot if it was not true. It may be the case that it is not true but that will be revealed tomorrow
Does anyone rember the Derren Brown 'A Day At The Races' or not?... that made the seamingly imposible possible... all be it taking ALOT of work and effort.
Derren is an illusionist not a camera man so I doubt this is merely some cheap camera tricks... if it is its rather disappointing :P
You are absolutely right, apart from the idea that any of it was prerecorded.
When Derren enters, the cameraman stands to in front of Derren, but slightly to the right. The perspective makes it look liket the camerman is standing directly in front of him.
The picture then cuts back to a 3rd (fixed) camera which is used for the rest of the show. You don't see the cameraman in this shot because he is slightly to the right of the shot.
I should have said that it was possible to do it all live, rather than dismiss the idea that the first bit was prerecorded. Either way, we know how it was done :-)
yeah :-) what do you want a bet derren wont tells us this on friday though, and he spends an hour on a fake explaination! i can't see derren admitting to camera trickery tbh, even if the evidence is SOOO great, especially with the ball cockup lol
Yup. My theory is that the 3rd camera was at the back of the room, but zoomed in.
And there's no way he'll say 'And I did it using camera trickery'. You're spot on, he'll waffle on for an hour with some 'explanation' which will just be a load of nonsense.
ahh, that could be possible! it would not be noticable either if the camera was on a tripod and was zoomed optically.
Yeah, who knows maybe the whole "split screen" thing is a decoy, maybe it was purposely made to look that way to throw us off the scent, but no, i don't think so, i think we've cracked it.
Derren has a history for lying about his tricks and giving false explainations, but i think since it's pretty obvious that split screen was used, some fans will be a bit let down if he lies.
i bet he doesn't rveal how its done till the end of the show on friday. This will give the opportunity for channel 4 to show about 12 breaks with piles of adverts. its all about helping the economy . to get people buying again. Thats my conspiracyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Ukleeham is correct I work as a special effects and illusion designer for film and tv, it is purely pixel bleed arising from image compression.
Thank goodness someone else realises this.
I realy don't think Derren Brown would risk his entire reputation live on tv with such a method that has more flaws than the Empire State building and is about as reliable 'LIVE' as Amy Winehouse.
Why does the pixel bleed only affect an area the exact size of one ball then? Also, if you watch the video when he turns the stand around to reveal the balls, that ball is very clearly higher than the others.
As jebbers says, in the close-up of the balls that ball is jammed in the end of the stand and clearly higher than the others. Also the jerky camera stops moving at the time of the switch, it all adds up to a camera trick.
It's not pixel bleed. If you watch a video of the full thing, when he stands behind the balls at the very start before his prediction they are all resting flat, when he stands behind them after revealing them the far right ball is clearly higher, definitely been moved.
The camera is on a steady-cam which is strapped to an operator, therefore it shakes thus making it impossible to achieve a split screen scenario, especially live.
Too many things could go wrong. It may have stayed fairly still at one point but not sill enought to acheive a 'perfect' match-up.
Before anyone says the camera shake could be added digitally afterwards that would delay the simultaneous broadcast further because of the rendering, therefore making the entire demonstration pointless.
Nonsense.. Camera shake could be added to a live stream without much of a lag. The camera is not a steadicam, it's a fixed camera. Everything up until after he waves is pre-recorded.
Look at the red light in the middle panel of the amp looking machine on the left, it also "moves"...its just pixel bleed and artifiacting due to image compression.
It isn't. None of the other balls move, and you notice that the pixels underneath the far left ball get darker as well, clearly showing a rise. Since the light would have also been covered by the split screen it may also have changed slightly when they cut back to being live, eg it was slightly brighter.
that there has either been a split screen and the balls have been tampered with or there is pressure being placed on the balls from sum sort of ink jet, im going with the split screen theory! a year of planning Derren to be exposed by a stagehand not doing his job properly!!!
I doubt that it is to do with pixels, it's quite an obvious discrepancy because it is the only ball affected. It's quite visible in other high quality footage of the event.
It is likely that the stand the balls are placed is not actually what it seems & that the numbers are etched or stickers are placed on the balls.
Isn't it suspicious that he can't reveal his personal prediction for the lottery before the event?
He will give an alternate vague reason for his trick.
Yep, it was obviously just a nice trick. I don't think the prediction of the lottery numbers is actually the main point of this though. On Friday he'll say "Yes, it's true, we used camera magic to make it seemed like we predicted the numbers. What you all missed, however, is ...." .......
...... On one of these lottery prediction videos someone made the comment "Did anyone notice the dancing bear?", and although it was just intended as humour, I think it's pretty relevant. The lottery numbers are just a detail, we're all missing the bigger picture somehow. We'll find out what that is on Friday.
You talk like you know him personally, what I can guarantee (not knowing him in the slightest) is that he will do whatever he wants to make the trick work, the entire show was a misdirect to stop you noticing the blinding simplicity of the actual trick - just like all illusionists tricks
i wouldnt be surprised if the bit where he reveals his balls are prerecorded. He's recorded all possible combinations and its played in sync with his live recording. He did something similar in 'the system' to make it seem like he predicted horse racings and also flipped a coin for10 hours until it revealed 10 heads in a row. And he lied about being live 'in the sence' and lied about the the guns being loaded in 'russian roulette' he also lies abou technqiues he uses like 'photoreading and nlp
No this is not possible. There are 49 balls, from which you select 6. Taking into account that he only needed to film them in ascending order gives 13983816 different possible combinations. Assuming it takes him 1 minute to film each combination (a better estimate would be 15 mins, to set everything up in exactly the same place), taking no breaks, working constantly, means it would have taken him 26.6 years to do all the filming.
You may not have noticed, but Derren revealed the secret himself... watch my video and see!

2) Why does he "write" the balls and not show anyone in the "Crowd" when the lottery has closed for the evening?
3) Why is there no studio audience?
4) Why not reveal the balls 5 seconds before or as they are beign drawn?
5) Why does the ball move?

good spot - not sure if it's solid "proof"
love how this trick has raised so much debate and question... most people realise it's a trick, yet none of us know exactly how he's done it. That's down to what he does best; mind games... there are loads of ways he could use camera trickery etc to do this, but he's still put that LITTLE seed of "what if he actually did this for real?" in everyone's mind, whether you think it's there or not :) can't wait 'til the next show.
mattshawuk 2 years ago
So who cares if he used a split screen, all that matters is when he revealed the numbers for the first time, a majority of people were taken back by it and thats the whole point of magic and illusion wheres the fun of taking it apart and seeing how its done? I personally think hes really good at what he does. Unless you're really picky, or even envious for the trick just let him do what he does
francey89 2 years ago
people like derren are losers so they come up with big stunts the lottery can not be predicted ever ever ever ever only by luck and him getting it right first time well wot a coincidence he got it right wot a pile of shit now he is fucking famous its wots called a publicity stunt and by the way if u did it u would crap your self if it went wrong u would look such a fucking retard so its been cleared up he used somthing like splitscreen even if the balls were riged there a chance of going wrong
matbarnes123 2 years ago
hahaha. yes it was a publicity stunt. and you have fallen for it just like everyone else. so stop talking like he didnt get you too becasue your one here debating it!!!!!
mowgli123456789 2 years ago
com on he has no chance of geting it right no1 should belive it in the first place the matter of the fact he cant predict the lottery and the chance of 1 slight error would be 1 in 1look derren brown you have people talking about you so come clean of FUCING COURSE HE USED SPLIT SCREEN WOT THE FUC ELSE WOULD HE DO EVEN IF THE BALL WERE RIGED HE WOULD STILL GET IT RONG now he fucing famous cos people like uare trying to guess it well wot a bunch of dumbasses
matbarnes123 2 years ago
There is another guy that shows you exactly how this was done. It was done with a split screen with cameras that were perfectly still and aligned. The shake is done with a computer to give the impression it would be hard to do a split screen with such shaky camera work. Unfortunately for Derren the shake was too obvious and even when I originally believed how he did this, I thought it was odd the camera shook so much. So check out the guy on youtube who shows exactly how this was done
gazcityboy 2 years ago

A very good illusion though.

I think if it was splitscreen it would have been difficult to pull off as the camera wobbles throughout the whole program, to have a splitscreen you would need to to have another camera wobbling in unison, which is almost impossible.
olliepack 2 years ago
The camera shake is not real camera shake, its probably just camera shake effect to make people think just what you said. Look closely and notice how rhythmic the ``shake`` is. Its certainly split screen. How would that shake happen?? If was in hand it would be random shaking. Why would camera not just be on a mount and perfectly steady. Its to make it look like split screen could`t be the answer.
robbie77300 2 years ago 2
there's a third camera zoomed in slightly so in the editing studio they can add a shake to it (it's on a tripod so they zoom in and it creates the effect)
HeigouZ 2 years ago
This isn't proof, as the distortion around the balls increases as it would with a different angle, therefore the ball could ,possibly, only appear to raise . I'm not saying that your wrong, but that this isn't 'hard proof'.

his reavling is a trick in its self to get you to believe what hes saying. he evan shows that hes doing this in the show by making everyone think theres a mouse when there wasent or that the man could step on a knife when there wasnt. also statistically it was nonsense the previous results have no bearing on future eg if a two hasnt come up in the last year it doesnt make it more or less likely to come up next time. also correctly done he should have taken the median, not the mean.u decide
madmark0 2 years ago 2
Correct good sir he was lying notice how his revelation was ambiguous and open for interpretation. The so called deduction due to randomness was a lie or rather should I say the illusion. However he did it he did not reveal it he only led people to think he did.

Camera shake is easy to put in - imagine the image being cropped to only 90% so the other 10% can be used as 'shake'

he got computer hackers to put the numbers on the video in real time. its a green screen trick used by paul daniels. its looks amazing but he didnt predict anything. he sees only blank balls. they can be moved and the computer draws the correct image. derren is doing nothing using special effects that look like mind tricks. he wont be honest about how he does it on friday either. he will tell u he uses some mathematical crap. its horseshit.

DublinBuoy 2 years ago
No change in ball size, you are comparing a wide shot to a closer shot. The camera zoomed in slightly so obviously balls will change size.
MavisRileyJunior 2 years ago
you are quite wrong sir. if you watch the video, you actually see one ball slowly rise up over a 10 second period. its not even noticable except that if you look before, all the balls are level, and then 10 seconds later, the left ball is clearly a little higher than the rest.

I think we're all looking into it all too much.
spudwondo 2 years ago
It's not his reputation! He is an illusionist - it's part of his work - misdirection.
hatton02 2 years ago 2
How could you describe this as a "cheap camera fiddle"? This would be far from some cheap camera fiddle. Rather, an extraordinarily elaborate and complex special effect which would have taken a lot of time and expertise to perfect.
TheSecondFoundation 2 years ago 2
Why the hell would they spend all that money on camera's, the ten minute slot on C4, the meetings with Camelot if it was not true. It may be the case that it is not true but that will be revealed tomorrow

Derren is an illusionist not a camera man so I doubt this is merely some cheap camera tricks... if it is its rather disappointing :P
fuzzyfox92 2 years ago 2
you're correct,
this is my explaination:
poeljames(dot)googlepages(dot)com/HowDerrenDidIt(dot)html
Type in your browser and replace (dot) with .
JamesPoel 2 years ago 2
You are absolutely right, apart from the idea that any of it was prerecorded.
When Derren enters, the cameraman stands to in front of Derren, but slightly to the right. The perspective makes it look liket the camerman is standing directly in front of him.
The picture then cuts back to a 3rd (fixed) camera which is used for the rest of the show. You don't see the cameraman in this shot because he is slightly to the right of the shot.
specialsk1 2 years ago
I don't quite understand what you mean, where is the 3rd camera? at the back of the room zoomed right in or something?
JamesPoel 2 years ago
I should have said that it was possible to do it all live, rather than dismiss the idea that the first bit was prerecorded. Either way, we know how it was done :-)
specialsk1 2 years ago
yeah :-) what do you want a bet derren wont tells us this on friday though, and he spends an hour on a fake explaination! i can't see derren admitting to camera trickery tbh, even if the evidence is SOOO great, especially with the ball cockup lol
JamesPoel 2 years ago
Yup. My theory is that the 3rd camera was at the back of the room, but zoomed in.
And there's no way he'll say 'And I did it using camera trickery'. You're spot on, he'll waffle on for an hour with some 'explanation' which will just be a load of nonsense.
specialsk1 2 years ago 3
ahh, that could be possible! it would not be noticable either if the camera was on a tripod and was zoomed optically.
JamesPoel 2 years ago
how can it move higher the balls are the same shape and that is the highest they can go its just a mistake
HotDogginJNR 2 years ago
i bet he doesn't rveal how its done till the end of the show on friday. This will give the opportunity for channel 4 to show about 12 breaks with piles of adverts. its all about helping the economy . to get people buying again. Thats my conspiracyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
palang25 2 years ago
As far as Jpruk0's comment goes, I really don't think Derren Brown needs a measly 2m.
And I'm sure Camelot would prevent him from playing repeatedly.
CreativeTruths 2 years ago
Ukleeham is correct I work as a special effects and illusion designer for film and tv, it is purely pixel bleed arising from image compression.
Thank goodness someone else realises this.
I realy don't think Derren Brown would risk his entire reputation live on tv with such a method that has more flaws than the Empire State building and is about as reliable 'LIVE' as Amy Winehouse.
CreativeTruths 2 years ago
Why does the pixel bleed only affect an area the exact size of one ball then? Also, if you watch the video when he turns the stand around to reveal the balls, that ball is very clearly higher than the others.
Jebbers27 2 years ago
As jebbers says, in the close-up of the balls that ball is jammed in the end of the stand and clearly higher than the others. Also the jerky camera stops moving at the time of the switch, it all adds up to a camera trick.
gaza1979 2 years ago
It's not pixel bleed. If you watch a video of the full thing, when he stands behind the balls at the very start before his prediction they are all resting flat, when he stands behind them after revealing them the far right ball is clearly higher, definitely been moved.
Absolution101 2 years ago
so he this whole thing people saying he moved it is just a mistake and he didnt use camera tricks is that wat your saying
HotDogginJNR 2 years ago
The camera is on a steady-cam which is strapped to an operator, therefore it shakes thus making it impossible to achieve a split screen scenario, especially live.
Too many things could go wrong. It may have stayed fairly still at one point but not sill enought to acheive a 'perfect' match-up.
Before anyone says the camera shake could be added digitally afterwards that would delay the simultaneous broadcast further because of the rendering, therefore making the entire demonstration pointless.
CreativeTruths 2 years ago
Nonsense.. Camera shake could be added to a live stream without much of a lag. The camera is not a steadicam, it's a fixed camera. Everything up until after he waves is pre-recorded.

Look at the red light in the middle panel of the amp looking machine on the left, it also "moves"...its just pixel bleed and artifiacting due to image compression.
ukleeham 2 years ago
It isn't. None of the other balls move, and you notice that the pixels underneath the far left ball get darker as well, clearly showing a rise. Since the light would have also been covered by the split screen it may also have changed slightly when they cut back to being live, eg it was slightly brighter.
Jebbers27 2 years ago
Looks like pixel bleed due to video/picture compression.
ukleeham 2 years ago
aaaaaand this proves what?
punkrockrevel 2 years ago
that there has either been a split screen and the balls have been tampered with or there is pressure being placed on the balls from sum sort of ink jet, im going with the split screen theory! a year of planning Derren to be exposed by a stagehand not doing his job properly!!!
ukhouseboy 2 years ago 2
I doubt that it is to do with pixels, it's quite an obvious discrepancy because it is the only ball affected. It's quite visible in other high quality footage of the event.
It is likely that the stand the balls are placed is not actually what it seems & that the numbers are etched or stickers are placed on the balls.
Isn't it suspicious that he can't reveal his personal prediction for the lottery before the event?
He will give an alternate vague reason for his trick.
MashedTV 2 years ago
yea when a camera moves there is a slight change in the pixels depending on fps, this doesn't really prove much...
Ljcrazynfree19 2 years ago 2
No, there really is a jump - just watch any full size high res video of this and you'll see a clear jump.
jpruk0 2 years ago
Yep, it was obviously just a nice trick. I don't think the prediction of the lottery numbers is actually the main point of this though. On Friday he'll say "Yes, it's true, we used camera magic to make it seemed like we predicted the numbers. What you all missed, however, is ...." .......
jpruk0 2 years ago
...... On one of these lottery prediction videos someone made the comment "Did anyone notice the dancing bear?", and although it was just intended as humour, I think it's pretty relevant. The lottery numbers are just a detail, we're all missing the bigger picture somehow. We'll find out what that is on Friday.

m0r1arty 2 years ago
You talk like you know him personally, what I can guarantee (not knowing him in the slightest) is that he will do whatever he wants to make the trick work, the entire show was a misdirect to stop you noticing the blinding simplicity of the actual trick - just like all illusionists tricks
SIRJUSTME 2 years ago
i wouldnt be surprised if the bit where he reveals his balls are prerecorded.
Catlover123445 2 years ago
he recorded all possible combinations!?!? So that's over thirteen thousand million!!!!!!! obviously he didn't do that!
AdmiralBud 2 years ago
No this is not possible. There are 49 balls, from which you select 6. Taking into account that he only needed to film them in ascending order gives 13983816 different possible combinations. Assuming it takes him 1 minute to film each combination (a better estimate would be 15 mins, to set everything up in exactly the same place), taking no breaks, working constantly, means it would have taken him 26.6 years to do all the filming.
