They couldn't exactly prevent it. They did, however, report that their set camera saw the crash and reported the direction of the yellow car and where the crash was and sent officers immediately. That is what the officers over the radio are saying.

@tomtresco At first watch I was writing to agree with you, however, after multiple watches, I saw that as the car entered the roadway in front of the bus, the reflection of the bus's lights on the roadway shortened significantly, implying that the bus driver was already on the brakes. However, I do agree that the flashing of the lights was unnecessary, and without may have provided an extra couple of seconds to perform a safe, evasive maneuver into the vacant oncoming lane to avoid this idiot!
@garbageman0789 The coach driver probably assumed the guy that pulled out would accelerate a bit more, too...there's a 65 mph two lane where I used to drive truck regularly, and there was one intersection where cars would pull out (and they have a clear view of the road) in front of me, which is fine, but they would accelerate waaay slowly, and I'd have to slow down to about 40mph to keep from plowing over them...THEN they speed up to 65, while I crawl up the slight incline at 40mph.

Even though if someone cuts you off I still wouldn't say hit them just because it's their fault...it's just gonna give you headaches. If you don't have to hit the car then don't, however if you're on a crowded highway with slippery roads and someone comes off the exit and cuts you off then it's best to go straight on and hit the person instead of veering into other lanes. Not true. The assumption is that blame attaches to the car behind but that can be rebutted. To take one obvious example, if you are stopped at a traffic lights and the car in front reverses into you then it is their fault.
Similarly if a car pulls in front or deliberately causes the accident. Legally they are negligent and you can, at least, allocate some part of the blame - and the cost - to them.
The problem is not the law -- it is proving the facts !!!

The bus driver failed to use progressive braking and should have rammed the car. I had a BMW do this to me about 3 years or so back and I came on to my brakes and sounded my horn then just rammed into him. I was breathalysed at the seen and cleared of any wrong doing after an investigation. The BMW driver got fined and points. He then tried to make a clam for his back injury and had it thrown out of court.

Even though if someone cuts you off I still wouldn't say hit them just because it's their fault...it's just gonna give you headaches. If you don't have to hit the car then don't, however if you're on a crowded highway with slippery roads and someone comes off the exit and cuts you off then it's best to go straight on and hit the person instead of veering into other lanes. I'm just saying don't hit people because you're right and their wrong.

okay heres what you do when someone cuts you off like this and a crash is inevitable. DO NOT SWERVE TO AVOID HITTING THEM. JUST HIT THEM. because when you swerve to avoid hitting them you either hit a car not involved or you wreck yourself, and the dumbass who cut you off drives off scott free. if sum1 cuts you off and you hit them they'll lose control and crash not you. so JUST HIT THEM DONT SWERVE TO AVOID THEM. fuck them its their fault.

@andrademeza the problem with hitting them is now you have rear ended a car. so without a witness or as in this case a camera, what the guy who cuts you off says to the cop is, " I hit the brakes to avoid hitting something and he rear ended me". I am not saying the swerving is safer for you I am just pointing out the legal end of it. in this case he should have hit him his passengers should have been his first concern.

@andrademeza Actually, in any case, if you rear end somebody, it is automatically your fault insurance wise, although it probably was the person who cut you off who is at fault.

Not true. The assumption is that blame attaches to the car behind but that can be rebutted. To take one obvious example, if you are stopped at a traffic lights and the car in front reverses into you then it is their fault.
Similarly if a car pulls in front or deliberately causes the accident. Legally they are negligent and you can, at least, allocate some part of the blame - and the cost - to them.
The problem is not the law -- it is proving the facts !!!

The bus driver failed to use progressive braking and should have rammed the car. I had a BMW do this to me about 3 years or so back and I came on to my brakes and sounded my horn then just rammed into him. I was breathalysed at the seen and cleared of any wrong doing after an investigation. The BMW driver got fined and points. He then tried to make a clam for his back injury and had it thrown out of court.
