The U.S. hardly a century of hegemony. It wasn't a world power until WW1, then wasn't a super-power until WW2. Then it competed face-to-face until the 90s with the USSR. So the only time America was on top was the 90s?
It's ridiculous. People were saying Japan was gonna take over the world in the 80s, then their bubble popped. China is a big bubble waiting to pop now, and while I think they are increasingly a force to be reckoned with, they're not replacing us.
