Terminal 2 and the second runway makes me wonder why there's a new international airport planned near Tubber, Co. Offaly between the M6 motorway and the Dubin/Galway rail line. It's location is insane as it would only be an hour from Dublin. It would make more sense to expand the existing regional airports such as Waterford or Galway as they're a long distance from Dublin.

Did they have the brains to build a runway to accomadate extra planes for this terminal ?? Or is it going to be an after thought once again ,and maybe 3-5 years later they put one in !!

i love dublin and cant wait for the new termanal to be compleated ..... also, i heard that they are making a new longer runway and more parking for 747's is this true?????? (i hope so:P)

Permission for a runway to a length of over 12000 feet parallel to 10/28 has been granted, the new runway and taxiway improvements will be able to handle aircraft as big as the Airbus A380

This may be out of date now, but as far a I know a 2012 opening is planned, and with far east routes possible, 388's are certainly a possibility.
