@2hatelibs1 seriously? By "black" I'm assuming you're talking about rap? But that can't be being that there are a bunch of Caucasian rappers out there making this so called "black garbage"
It didn't work out ;( The dough was too wet and it didn't rise at all. In the end I made them into doughnuts and my boyfriend and his family liked them. I covered them in sugar and they had some strawberry jam with them.
I am just making this now :) I have a question though as I've never made bread before, in your video you say to leave the dough to rise for 40 minutes, do you kneed the dough beforehand? This recipe look so yummy I just hope I can make it as good as you!
i made these and they are wonderful, i fried half of them and as im trying to cut down on the fat i baked the other half, they all turned out very nice.
I've tried making it twice already...but everytime my dough is too wet and it breaks easily. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I followed the recipe.
Depending where you live and the weather can mean the difference as to how much flour a recipe will need. It can varying up to a cup if it is humid. Are you kneading the dough by hand or Kitchen Aid stand mixer? Use the amount in the recipe and add 2 tablespoons of flour at a time until it becomes a mass and stays in a ball. It should be pliable but not wet, if still wet and gloppy add 2 more tablespoons flour and work into dough. This has to be kneaded after for 10 mins
I made this bread last week and my whole family loved it so much that I had to make two batched. It's very delicious and not too sugary. Everyone should try it!

Just saw the Ingredients for 2 Tablespoons of Vegetable Oil, but she uses Olive Oil? What is the difference? You need to change the error!
Should sprinkle Castor Sugar over it like Doughnuts! Serve with Jam Mmmmm Yummy!

Can you bake this instead of deep frying it? If yes, at what temp and for how long? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
