  • yo didn't some lady make a remake of this song in the 90's????

  • @MyViews777

    Monie Love 1990.

  • This is my favorite Spinners song.I love the way it never lets up with a very short guitar solo.Just a great attack of the spinners.

  • GREAT song, but the video is awful! I thought I was having a stroke, til I figured out the entire thing is out of focus!

  • Im 15 and i know 4 a fact this is waaaaaaay better then lil wayne

  • Classic song, classic group - still as fresh now as ever - great music NEVER fades - fuck X Factor etc - get rea, get original and produce you own music - now THATS everything

  • I may be a 90s baby but I know real music when I hear it and I would choose this over J Cole, Drake, or Nicki Minaj anyday! Real Talk

  • I'M A '76 BABY...I WISH I WAS AN ADULT DURING THIS GOLDEN AGE OF MUSIC..ALL THE GROUPS BACK THEN WERE OFF THE CHAIN...CAN YOU IMAGINE THE CONCERTS...AND DA PARTIES....AMAZING!!!

  • @TheVanexel23 Yep - it was an emotionally charged time, all right. I hated the 70s, because life was pretty grim, but for some reason the music keeps coming back to haunt me.

  • i was in the war during this time these boys helped me thru the drama thanks is this phill wynn?

  • You Tube really is a time machine isn't it?

  • Its ashammee How a video like this could have soo many dislikes. smh

This songs lyrics captures the hearts of both young and old alike. How many modern day musicians can do that? Long live the Spinners!!!

  • I can't believe these guys were out guest group out our Prom at Eastside High School Paterson, NJ....We use to have the best Proms...1970...1969 the Delfonics....I had a great time in Highschool and growing up...and this was the kind of music we listened to

  • @shop4sue Wow, wish they performed at my prom (Roosevelt High School, Boyle Heights, East Los Angeles California Class of 2000).

  • Amazingly well crafted and performed song. One of my favorite guitar intros. You know what song it is with the very first chord. The Spinners were phenomenal, with hit after hit, in a short period of time and are among my favorites.

  • Music doesn't get any better than this, especially now a days!

  • 38 people can form in a row, and kiss my tush, too. Fantastic song. I just discovered this song!!

  • What a damn perfect soul group...love them Spinners!

  • J Dilla's father wrote this. ( according to JD's mother).

  • No, Stevie Wonder wrote and produced it. It sounds almost exactly like his other work from the time. What is a J Dilla?

  • The best thing they did was leave "MOTOWN", Berry Gordy didn't know what he had since he could only see the Temptations.

  • G.C. Cameron (the lead singer) was incredible with his 5-octave vocal range.

  • this is a jamming song, even if it's based on playing around with love, it's still a jamming song.

  • One of the greatest. The Detroit Spinners. And then the Spinners. My favourite band.

  • Raffoler means to like very much. I' m pleased to see that you want to improve your french. Years ago, even the black persons I met here were amazed that a white guy was fond of this music they didn't know themselves.

    All the best

    Guy

  • The shame is when you have´nt a clue about the lyrics and you liked the song - until you hear the lyrics - so - the music and the beat is what counts - lyrics? well it sort of comes with the music - or?

  • my favorite part is when he catches himself in his zipper at 3:03

  • @jloch85 LMFAO! I love this song and no disrespect, but that was funny as hell.

  • Its a shame 34 people have no taste

  • It's a shame 34 people dislike this song.

  • Summer 1970......laid off from my ship, and tuition bill in the mail......parked cars in Boston.......made it all up in spades, and BC-cum laude to follow.......WAS a huge shame, but became a waltz.

  • hard to believe this bass line is played with one finger called the hook R.I P. mr Jamerson.

  • The ostinado (the guitar riff loop) needs to be slightly faster, like the Monie Love version, but otherwise this song is kick ass. Motown forever!

  • 34 people can form in a row and kiss my ass.

    This classic is fantastic, awesome!

  • Wasn't this one of the Motown erra hits that "The Spinners " had before tey left and went to Atlantic Records? Whatever the case this is one of the greatest hits they ever had !! Not taking awway from thier other great hits, Listen to the fullness in the arrangemet of the music!! The horns, the drummer, the bass line. the guitar work, you're right ellens/5.. its a shame kids don't listen to great music like this and get ideas more towards this kind of music!!

  • they played this on my bmi british midland flight yesterday!!

  • The opening of this song is awesome...I think. One can't sit down withou all the bones begin to shake!

  • Did Stevie write this song, or is he just playing background? This kind of talent need come again.

  • @sullivancountydays he wrote it and is probably on drums here. but he did write this song and gave the spinners there first but not last number one hit

  • @sullivancountydays Stevis Wonder wrote and produced this song especially for the Spinners. I don't know if he is playing on it, but I'll bet that he is!!

  • aaawwh shit...soon as heard 1st beat it was on....luv this so much...

  • It is really a shame that things have to change, but change is the only permanent thing there is because things will change. Listen to this music...always about feelings and caring and love. Today that has all change on a generational scale. There will always be people that feel this, but for the world as a whole , those days are long gone.

  • You could not be alive in the 70's & fail to recognize the importance of this song/group. Keep posting!!!

  • bobbin my head....snappin my fingas....tappin my toez.......it's a shame how good this song is.

  • I LOVE this!!

  • How could you NOT like this song?! This stuff is the best!

  • it's a shame perhaps pity to meet you

  • The Spinners brought so many outstanding classics and they were so upliftingly dynamic.

The voices of the late Brother Phillippe Wynne, Brother Bobby Smith, the late Brother Pervis Jackson, Brother G.C Cameron etc; the Spinners were so unbelievable with their stunning and electrifying hits.

They made me feel so inspiration and forever more.

  • Imagine having a voice like this lead singer. Holy shit is he good. C.C. Cameron was and always will be the greatest lead singer this group has ever had.

  • 34 People sold their soul to the DEVIL!

  • This is the music that goes to the deepest part of my soul.

  • It's a shame 34 people didn't like this song, lol. Dang shame.

  • just saw unsung,,, found a whole new respect for them..

  • the older i get the better these oldies songs sound

  • love this song when I first heard it I didn't think for once it was the Spinners singing it.

  • it's a shame they were not given more notice and used more /gordy was stupid

  • @zooie100 There was too much talent for Berry to know what to do with, lol. I mean anybody with meaningful brain cells know this guys were incredible.

  • The Spinners have been togther for 60 years now. They have had hits after hits. They are one of the unsung groups. And there untold stories and how there life is has already shown in there songs. I love The Spinners. And they are still a group today.

  • Im young but I know REAL when I see it

  • im 12 and i love this song

  • @MultiArisai i'm 14!

  • For some reason this is one of my favorite songs ever. Sounds like funk before it's time in a way. People can say Motown, but some Motown is FONK. Wish the cats in N.Y. and L.A. would get hip to real stuff. This crap today is old already .

  • Stevie Wonder wrote this song

  • @taurusman26 really! where's his version then, or did he write it for them?

  • @wolmersgirls He wrote it for them.

  • <33333333333333 good music

  • It's a shame that not a single picture in this montage is in focus...

  • @gyroprotagonist Hysterical!

  • GOOD MUSIC.

  • its not a shame that 2,244 people liked this song :) and this song has made their day

  • Is it because this song was done by someone else? I might be wrong, but this song was 1st done by the Stairsteps. Check it out.

  • It's a SHAME they do not make songs like this any more. Thank God for memories!

  • @ellensj5

    AND You Tube.

  • @ellensj5 They still make songs like this. MTV just doesn't play it.

  • @ellensj5 Enter Games People Play. by the Spinners of course. Might be their best song

  • Whoever disliked this song is just...stupid.

  • @Fresh2Def1989 I could be wrong but , it's probably some bigoted white folks...just saying! peace and blessings. don't sweat it enjoy the music and your life...

  • @Fresh2Def1989 unfortunately, the world has an abundance of lost causes in terms of taste in music. It's sad really, most people prefer justin beiber to Michael Jackson (<--example).

  • Awesome tune. Can't put it into words exactly but it's very stirring.

  • Talent is definitely the spinners; any negatives, they are negative themselves; Black People real Black people know real music, this is real.

  • Now THIS folks is music, not the garbage out there today>

  • what kind of momo would give this a thumbs down? sheesh.

  • @campoxford Deaf or stupid people probably.

  • I came here because I used to hear this song on San Francisco Bay Area radio station 98.1 Kiss Fm. I'm only 24 years old and love this song since I was 13. Go Spinners because your CD keeps spinning greats tunes before my time and I love it.

  • I love these old songs! It's a shame the way you mess around with your girl, It's a shame the way you play with my emotions, It's a shame the way you mess around with your girl, You're like a child at play, on a sunny day, You play with love, and then you throw it away! {:(

  • why does beautiful music like this touch my heart the most on a rainy day?

  • How can 34 people dislike this song???

    They don't know real music!!!

  • @grimms34 - and don't KNOW good music! The arrangement, production, the skill of the musicians, the harmonies, (the range!) the composition, and obviously, the timelessness - and jeez, you can dance to it! 34 idiots...

  • classic!!

  • It's a shame that 34 people wouldn't know good music if it bit them in the ass.....

  • What a great song....I watched a guy perform this on just an acoustic guitar and it was so cool. Shows you that a great song can be expressed with just the absolute bare minimum....kudos to the songwriter.

  • 70's Classic Soul, never, ever done better. Impossible to not sing along! Wolfsky9

  • don't get any better than this i luv this song! itz one of mii momz favorites

  • THIS IS REAL MUSIC NOT LIKE THIS NEW SCHOOL PIECE OF CRAP. ITS A SHAME THEY HAD TO RUIN REAL MUSIC R.I.P 1999 AND YEARS BEFORE

  • @Freezer513 I'm 30 and I love it! {:D

  • It's a shame, all the musics now autotuned.

It's a shame, how they try to block old school tunes.

It's a shaame, that's how they sample and they try to pass it off as new.
