The more accurate ? is, "Are Roman Christians" Christians - Every Christian denomination and non-denominational Christian Church is Catholic cause they keep the Catholic Pagan mixed Doctrine that did not come from the Bible like Christmas- Sunday Sabbath- Easter- Lent-Communion-Good Friday-ect.. THERE are NO scriptures to support these days in fact there are scriptures that forbid these & warn us from them.
I'm working an ANOTHER video by almost the same title. Since I can't call it Are Roman Catholic Christians, I'm calling it, What it takes to be a Christian, or What it takes to be Christian. Probably the latter. He mentions the tracts in that series, too, but this series focuses less on the tracts and more upon what criterion are necessary to be called Christian.
I've been a Protestant my whole life. But now I'm seriously considering becoming Catholic. I can see that I've had misconceptions my whole life and after research, I can definitely see that the early church did not practice "Protestantism". My parents do not understand why I'm considering this but I hope I can explain myself to them. I'm still researching and deciding between Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy, but I'm definitely finished with Protestantism. Thanks for these videos!
@mikeellerbeck A lot of the Eastern Orthodox Churches are already in union with Rome, that is, they are a Catholic Church. They're just not a Roman Rite. An example would be the Byzantine Rite. There's also almost unanimous agreement amongst the Orthodox Patriarchs (with the exception of Russia) that the schism that occurred in the year 1000 (approximately) should end and the Catholic and Orthodox churches should reunite. May as well be Catholic, IMHO. God bless! Any ?'s email me.
@mikeellerbeck I have a big article on the Orthodoxy/Catholic reunification movement on my website. Go to Catholic Digital Studio, click on Videos, select The Miracle of Damascus. The article attached to that video series discusses that ecumenical movement and I've tried to keep it updated. The video deals with a mystic whose messages dealt heavily with ending the schism between the Orthodox and Catholic Churches.
@Button36 Basically, Mike, whatever you do, just search for the Truth. This should be the NUMBER ONE reason you join any church. That would be a good explanation for your parents, and if they're reasonable people, which I'm sure they are, they'd respect that.
With all due to the beautiful liturgy of Orthodox churches and to a theology nearly identical to that of Catholicism, one has to acknowledge that Great Schism occurred largely for political reasons. Constantinople was called the "Second Rome" and the Byzantines considered it superior to the old Rome of the Pope. Accordingly, the Byzantine emperor wanted to be supreme, not accepting the authority of the Pope, thus the motivation for the seemingly silly "filioque" controversy
Their motivation was very similar to Henry VIII's in breaking away from the Church. So you see, like the Reformation and the Anglican schism, the Great Schism was also motivated in large part by a thirst for even greater power on the part of the secular rulers. By virtue of her foundation by Jesus Christ Himself, there is only one true Church of Jesus Christ, the Catholic Church. Whether motivated by honest error or secular considerations, all others are pretenders.
@mikeellerbeck Please my brother, do not be deceived. Join the roman catholic before it is too late.It is only the catholic church that has the Eucharist which is the heart of the church. Jesus founded the holy catholic church and made peter the first pope 2000 years ago. Jesus also celebrated the holy Eucharist in the last supper before good friday. martin luther was the founder of protestanism 500yrs agodue to lack of understanding. Some good pastors recommend it for christeand.
@mikeellerbeck This is wonderful news!!! I´m so glad that your leaving those "make believe churches" I suggest you be part of Roman Catholicism. If you need help or want to know WHY you should be catholic you can tell me. I´ll be happy to guide you to the path of truth: The Catholic Church!!!!
Hi Button36, I really like this video. Its informative and really helps me out because I try to listen to classes like this one while I'm at work. I have a question that relates to some of the stuff you went over in this video. My father is an avid Jehovah Witness and every time I bring up the fact that his Bible is a remake and missing books he states that they are books of the Biblical Apocrypha and were added at a later point. Any thoughts or suggestions that may help me handle this?
Roman Catholicism is "christian" in a similar way that mormonism is. Both are preaching a different Jesus and a different gospel. However I do admire anyone who will stand up for what they believe.
Again, just in case you misunderstand me, I'll debate ONE SUBJECT at a time. If you pull a shotgun approach with me, I'll block you, or I'll shut this puppy down altogether so that all of you can fume over this in silence.
I'm seriously thinking about shutting down comments to this video series. I've been babysitting this conversation for 2 years and am growing tired of it. So if you have anything to say, any references to quote, do so clearly and honestly. Also, if you want to debate me, I will debate ONE SUBJECT, ONE ONE ONE at a time. Yes, I'm yelling! ONE SUBJECT, not five different subjects at once. Otherwise, this ship is going down! I mean it.
I find it very funny, quite hilarious how Protestants live just to attack the Catholic Church. They know their little churches came from it. It's so much rage in Protestantism. It's hysterical how they want to "bring down" the Church...
I seriously laugh very comfortably. In a way, I think God made Luther to create little robots called "Protestants", eating Bibles, trying to be all smart and stuff. All for my amusement =)
Now for the rebuttal. Mt 19:19 - Jesus confirms the commandment, honor father and mother. Mt 3:9 - Jesus calls Abraham "father." Mt. 5:29-30 - an example of Jesus using a hyperbole 'pluck out eye; cut off hand,' means not each verse is to be taken literally. Same applies to Mt 23:9. Acts 7:2 - St. Stephen calls Jewish leaders "fathers." Acts 21:40, 22:1 - St. Paul calls Jerusalem Jews "fathers." Rom 4:16-17 - Abraham called "father of us all."
1 Cor 4:14-15 - I became your father in Christ thru the gospel. 1 Tim 1:2 - my true child in the faith. Tit 1:4 - my true child in our common faith. (Children have father and mother). Heb 12:7-9 - we have earthly fathers to discipline us. Lk 14:26 - if anyone comes to me without hating his father ... 1 Thess 2:11 - we treated you as a father treats his children. Philem 10 - whose father I became in my imprisonment. 1 Jn 2:13,14 - I write to you, fathers, because you know him.
How am i not being like an adult? I am asking question with scripture. I share the scripture and say it says not to do this, and yet YOU then act like a child and threaten to block me, well then go ahead,
None of your comments reference any passage or verse. I see you printing stuff in all caps, which is the equivalent of screaming, and accusing me of blasphemy and other sins with absolutely nothing to support your position. Also, children always hit back whenever the opportunity presents itself, per your latest outburst. Just keep it up. I'd love to block you.
What you are describing is called VENERATION, or a show of respect towards someone, or a something representing such a one, who is either in a position of authority, such as the Holy Father, or a position of a higher degree of holiness, such as the Virgin Mary. Ultimately, veneration is derived from respecting their greater likeness to Christ. We venerate with various bodily postures. WORSHIP, on the other hand, is offering sacrifice. Mass and offering the Eucharist is an example of worship.
nawktor, you have WORSHIP and VENERATION confused. Worship always, always, always involves a sacrifice of some kind, be it an animal or plant or a human. In the case of Christianity, it is a God/human sacrifice done once at Calvary, re-presented outside space and time at every Mass throughout all time. We are present mystically in Calvary in 33 AD at every Mass. We enter ourselves into Christ's sacrifice via the Eucharist. Read John 6.
The Popish church has redefined the word venerate so you don't feel like you are doing something wrong. But what does it mean to worship something? why don't we use the Bible definition: shachah in hebrew or proskuneo in greek. Both have the same meaning: to kiss his master's hand, to crouch or bow to, to prostrate oneself in homage. So based on the Bible, Catholics Worship Mary, the Pope dead people. You can use whatever term you like, but the Bible definition is always right. Amen.
The Magisterium has defined the terms to distinguish between pagan worship practices, which often involved human sacrifice on an altar, and veneration, paying homage. The former is true worship. The latter is an external sign of respect. There is a difference. I actually find it offensive that you'd equate the two. If you don't believe me, watch a video on Human Sacrifice by A&E. Netflix has it online. The OT times were full of blood sacrifices, often children. Educate yourself, please.
An example of true idolatry (worship) in modern times would be the blood of unborn babies being sacrificed on the altar of worldly pleasures. A more metaphoric form of idolatry occurs anytime a person places anything above God, Example: you stay home and watch football instead of attending Mass. In that case, you're sacrificing your own salvation on the altar of gluttony.
I'm glad the Magisterium has redefined the Bible definition of the word. And of course you believe what the Magesterium says because the Papcy through the ages has continually told the laity that the Bible is too difficult to understand so they need to interpret it for you. The Bible defines itself plainly as it says in 2 Peter 1:20 - "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation."
Though we disagree on some things, tonyb408, I do appreciate your polite tone. Thank you. In fact, I'm going to send you a friend invite so I don't need to pre-approve your comments. You've proved yourself trustworthy. Thank you.
nawktor, Your vitriolic comments are becoming tiresome and irritating. Read some of tonyb408's comments and maybe you could learn, from him, how to properly conduct yourself as an internet apologist. I removed your comment about the Holy Father because of the tone. You want to debate with grown ups, then please act like one. If you can't or won't, I can and will block you.
On this particular topic: In Exodus 25:18-19 - God commands Moses to make two cherubim of beaten gold for the arc AND the people prostrated themselves before the arc. Num 21:8-9 Moses made a bronze serpent and put it on a pole and ? I think they knelt before it if memory serves. 1 Kgs 6:23-29 - the temple had engraved cherubim (angels), trees, flowers. 1 Kngs 7:25-45 - the temple had bronze oxen, lions pomegranates.
everything in the universe is energy. God is simply positive energy or love! evil, Satan, killing another human being, hate etc = negative energy, wat elite believe. Jesus, even if just a story, lived love - put forth positive energy - which is why he was God in the flesh! The story should b remembered 4 all of us 2 put forth positive energy the way Jesus taught us. Constantine & the roman empire -the elite -all infiltrated / created religions, the bible & Quran. PAGAN.
You need to talk to Vic Scaravilli himself. He's totally cool and he LOVES this subject (apologetics) above all others. Contact me through You Tube and I'll give you his e-mail. This would totally make his day. He lives for this stuff, seriously.
Catholic "I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth And in Jesus Christ His only Son, Our Lord Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit Born of the Virgin Mary Suffered under Pontius Pilate Was crucified, died and was buried. On the third day, he rose again He ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty. "
It's history. Um ... Council of Hippo and one other council?, plus a canonization by a Pope shortly thereafter. Sometime around 350-400 AD. Someone help me out with specifics!
I did not say that Catholics are not Christians, I specifically said that they are defiantly Christians and did a video about it because fundamentalist Protestants who say Catholics are not Christians lack Theological sense.
Catholics are not christians..they're catholics..Christians are not catholics ..they're christians..Christians are born again and receive Forgiveness thru Christ alone, not priests or help from Mary..Catholics receive forgiveness thru Confession thru a priest..they(catholics) think that priests are more closer to Gog than themselves which christians do not..but sadly most catholics don't even care to investigate their own false religion 'cause it's to much work
Here is an interesting portion of scipture for all Roman catholics to read. Johns first letter, chapter 5: verses 11-13.Some of the key words there are, has,and know.
From the begining every false sect has called itself "Christian" so the true church has made itself distinct from the crowd by calling itself "Catholic"; "Catholic" is a despription OF Christianity.
continued from my last post: when study GOD's true word (KJV) your goal in this life is to have a personal relationship with GOD and his son Jesus. You can't put your trust in man, man made religions, man made traditions, or institutions.
yes man made religion, every christian religion that seperated them selves from the first church that jesus left st. peter, the catholic. every other christian religion was made by a man
Ask yourself one question, am i in Christ. ?Remember it is God who places you in Christ ,1 cor:1:30.Also have a look at romans,8:1. The word church in the greek is ekklesia which means called out one,s, people who are called by God to repentance, and through faith in Christ are reconciled to God and who are placed into Christ ,and become members of the ekklesia( the church) .
We are not saved by what we do or do not do, but by what Christ HAS done.He has paid my dept And for that i love Him.
Why is the King James Bible "GOD's true word"? Who is King James to authorize a specific English translation of the Bible? Is it somehow superior to other Protestant translations? to Catholic translations? to other languages?
So "GOD's true word" wasn't available until King James I commissioned an English Bible translation which would conform to his Anglican views in 1611? What did people do for the first 1500 years of the Church? Hmm...
to onmyway 09: the reason protestants, in the past anyway, don't like roman catholics is because protestants were persecuted and killed by the church for not bowing to the pope. protestant comes from the word protest and they protested the mother church's ungodly doctrines, man made traditions, and how the pope and his crew felt they could change GOD's never changing word. early protistants knew that the roman catholic church was not and is not the true church of GOD.
edurne1: i did do my history homework and asnwer me this, how did the roman catholic church give us the bible and the bible was completed at least 300 years before the roman church came onto the scene?
I was raised Catholic but was poorly catechized. It took me years of self-deprogramming to get a clear, fair picture of the Church. Now, after nearly 25 years in non-Catholic "churches", I've rediscovered the only Church Jesus actually founded. The ever-changing, multi-hued and "flavor of the month" teachings coming out of the myriad of protestant churches I have attended became maddening. The Catholic Church, on the other hand, has stood firm for millenia. Upon this Rock indeed!
I was a catholic for 23 years and never ever was encouraged to read the bible. I'm surprised your students have one. I am offended by your church because it never taught me to have a personal relationship with Jesus. I have plenty of catholic friends who I can only partially fellowship with because if I start quoting the bible they get very uncomfortable. I find they have a relationship with the church but God is someone way out there and unapproachable.
Thats exactly how i feel. I was born into catholicism. I have been baptized and confirmed..i went to catholic primary, high schools and college. And all these years i didnt know the Lord. All i ever knew was the rosary off by heart..the hail mary, our father & glory be. I never knew if i was going to heaven or hell. I didnt understand anything..but i always wanted to know about god n Jesus. But i could never find any answers for some reason.
I wanted to respond to your comments. Not all protestants hate catholics.. please don't believe that. My family has 4 pastors and we have a mixed group of denominations in my family, my mother is brethern, father protestant, 2 aunties who are catholic , and episcopal uncles.
God loves You! whither catholic or otherwise. There is a family of God and I wanted to post this to encourage you all not to be suspicious of each other but folllow Jesus teaching . God is love
"In the beginning was the Word: and the Word was with God: and the Word was God".( john 1:1 ) .And verse ,14 same chapter, " and the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us."
simply put, there are only two ways of looking at christianity, the trinitarian catholic approach which is really a pagan believe system implemented by the roman establishment to suit their own means, and then there is the ORIGINAL divine revelation of UNITARIANISM which is strict adherence to the oneness of GOD that means being strictly anti-trinitarianism(anti-establishment)! and that means letting go of the notion that the Holy Messenger Jesus is the Lord himself.
In the beginning was the Word: and the Word was with God:and the Word was God.( john:1:1.) . And verse 14, "and the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us"
Ecclesia, the greek word for church means called out ones. These are people who are called by God to repentence and through faith in jesus are reconciled to God.They enjoy fellowship with God Through the indwelling Holy Spirit. Paul said "i live, yet not i, but Christ liveth in me.(Eph: 2: 20).Jesus is my Lord and Saviour and He changed my life bringing me into a real fellowship with God".By their fruits you shall know them". I AM NOT A ROMAN CATHOLIC,
Who the hell told you the Catholics took out commandments? Are you illierate? We have ALL the ten commandments, and we dont worship idols. Mary and the saints we pray to ... for assistance bec we believe the prayers of the righteous are beneficial. How do you define worship by the way? Our worship is solely for God. The Catholic Mass does not contain prayers to Mary or the saints., which anyway is justified by the Book of Macabees, which your idol Luther threw out, with Revelations!
They actually did take out one "Do not make any images on earth and heaven' GONE and what they did is bridge the last two "covet thy neighbor's wife" then " covet thy neighboors goods" their is only one do not covet commandment ..it's true
The New Advent Bible (a Catholic Bible) says: " You shall not make to your self a graven thing, nor the likeness of any things, that are in heaven above, or that are in the earth beneath, or that abide in the waters under the earth. 9 You shall not adore them, and you shall not serve them ..." (to be continued)
" For I am the Lord your God, a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon their children unto the third and fourth generation, to them that hate me, 10 and showing mercy unto many thousands, to them that love me, and keep my commandments." This is the whole text of the Second Commandment, from Deuteronomy. NAB version.
It is interesting that Catholics think they don't worship Mary. But what do the Popsih church say? John Paul II said "IT IS POSSIBLE TO UNDERSTAND THE AUTHENTIC MEANING OF MARIAN WORSHIP in the ecclesial community ... which furthermore is based on the will of Christ" Wow, Marian worship is based on the will of Christ? I can't find that in my Bible, can you? The quote is from the Vatican Information Service, May 7, 1997.
Privileges can always be revoked, tonyb408. Don't start trolling around on this board just because you got a friend invite. Even if this is true, understand that the papal infallibility doctrine does not apply to everything the pope says. You don't know that this wasn't a product of a poor translation. Cite the source more clearly if you're going to do this in the future.
Unless this was said in English originally, I wouldn't put any credit to this quote. JP2 rarely spoke English. The translator probably made an error because this is heresy. You don't need to try and dig up dirt on Pope so and so from 1235 and read everything he's said and done to know what we teach. We teach openly in the Catechism. Worship of the Virgin Mary is a mortal sin and it's forbidden. End of story. It's in the book. That's what we teach. There's no conspiracy veil here.
It states in the Ten Commandments that we are not to worship idols. Regarding the crucifix (Jesus nailed to a cross). Catholicism took a commandment and split them in two, regarding coveting. The Catholic church took out the commandment regarding idols. The Romans combined Christianity with their pagan rituals. . It's a false Christ. You can be Christian if you're Catholic, but works will not save you. As Christians we should rejoice in Jesus Christ's resurrection and not his death.
IN REALITY, you cant be christian without being catholic. Christ was VERY clear, Peter is the rock, upon him is Christ's church. Singular and possessive. All of these protestants who have "invented" their 9own churches are disobeying a direct order, if you will, of Christ's and have the gull to say they are right. How dare you? Christ was clear and direct, the Catholic (Universal) Church is the one true "christian" church. Nuff said.
Please give me a break. Christ never told us " in orde to be saved, you need to attend a catholic church". Faith in Jesus Christ and being born again(Joh 3:3) are the only requirements to enherit the Kingdom of Heaven. The Church of Jesus Christ is every christian that ever walked the earth. Either as protestant, Baptist, Catholic, etc. Notice Jesus never said"go to a catholic church or you'll go to hell"
Romans 10:13" For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
Complex and other protestants, it would do all of us well to watch all of these videos before casting judgment. The topic is Catholics defending themselves against misguided and ill-written anti-Catholic propaganda known as Chick Tracts. One viewer told me that Canada has banned them because they're considered hate literature. Though I'm generally opposed to censorship, Canada did right in that case.
Though I don't agree with Muslim or Mormon theology, Mr. Jack Chick has been incredibly unfair to those groups, too, by exaggeration and twisting of their theology to mean something it does not. He did the same with the Catholic Church. We are dissecting this hate literature to educate Joe Public that Jack Chick is not a model Christian and is, in fact, a liar. Please stick to the video topic in your comments, which is about exposing someone who has made millions of dollars off lies. Thanks.
PSALM:18. VERSE 31, WHO IS A ROCK EXCEPT ARE GOD?.ALSO,EPH:2,VERSE 20,CHRIST JESUS HIHSELF IS THE CHIEF CORNERSTONE. Scripture should compliment scripture ,and any interpretation laid upon a verse that does not do this is false. Scipture says "there is ONE mediator between God and man the man Christ Jesus" 1Tim:verse 5. And finally scipture says,"we have an advocate with the Father -Jesus Christ the Righteous one,He speaks to the Father for us." Johns 1st letter chapter 2 v 1.
In order for Protestants to be "Saved", they must come to grips with their continual disobedience of Christ's clear mandate. The Church is a divine institution, established by the one true god, not a man. This cannot be said of ANY protestant denomination. None of them. They are all created by men and thus are by definition heresy. Look at the root of that word. I comes from the Greek verb "to choose". That is exactly what Protestant do.
You can't really say that mainly because the Roman Catholic Church was the original church, and is a lot older than any other christian church out there. And isn't ND Christian just a reforming church from a branch of protestantism?
Not to mention a lot of elements from all christian denominations (including ND Christian) are from the Catholic Church.
You can't see me ... I'm the videographer ... I was 36 when I taped this, and that's kinda young. LOL! And except when a couple teenagers come with their parents, and at other rare times, I am the youngest there. You are right though. We're trying the best we can to promote our faith to those of all ages. God bless.
The young people now adays need to come back to the church and Jesus, I mean it must offend the lord so much for his youngest children to pay no heed to him. God bless you!!
Of course Roman Catholics are Christians...We worship the God of Abraham, follow the teachings of Jesus Christ whom we believe is the son of God, and in his advocate the Holy Spirit we receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit - which help us lead a good life... May I ask Buffon who Protestants worship?
Martin Luther obviously ... not Jesus Christ... Where does it say in the Bible "justification by faith ALONE" ... The original Hebrew/Greek says 'justification by faith.' Love for God is most vital
Eph:2:8-9."For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the GIFT of God,not by works, so that no one can boast. Luther was a man like any other man to say protestants worship him is offensive and childish.Have a look at Romans 8:1 All the best.
I was baptized a Catholic. I went to Catholic school for 13 years and was even an altar boy. Last August I was saved on my knees crying out to the Lord. I felt the Holy Spirit enter into me and I was given a new heart. I was delivered from porn and masturbation without even trying. Nothing can ever take away my testimony for Jesus Christ.
I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
I assume you were an infant baptism? It is Catholic teaching - though not all Catholics are aware of this - that in order to receive the full graces of the Holy Spirit you must CONVERT, that is, accept Jesus Christ as your personal saviour, once you've attained the age of reason. If you are an unbaptized adult going thru RCIA, you must accept Christ FIRST - convert - and then be Baptized. The reverse order. I'm happy for you, but nothing you've written is against Catholic teaching. God Bless!
If you have the time, watch my series called "God Loves You." It's in my Video Log. It explains my first comment more completely and discusses accepting Christ and true conversion. Really, true conversion is conversion of heart. Baptism alone without conversion will not save you. So you are correct. You just had your conversion experience as an adult and received the full graces of the Holy Spirit at that time. Me? I had my conversion at the age of 30, but was Baptized as an infant.
One qualification needs be made: Baptism alone without conversion will not save you once you've attained the age of reason. Before the age of reason, if you've not had a conversion experience, Baptism will save you. The age of reason is approximately six years of age.
Expanding that statement even further, Baptism confers upon the soul Sanctifying Grace. One can sin after the age of reason because reason is required in order to commit a mortal sin, the sin of spiritual death. So if you have been Baptized, attained the age of reason, and have not lost the Sanctifying Grace of Baptism, then the sacrament alone without conversion saves. But the risk is that after the age of reason, those graces can be lost. The true judge of one's soul, of course, is Jesus.
We know that God aren´t going to select those who say "Me" "I". We shall not play trumpet in front of ourselves. Why to destruct instead to construct? Faith and doctrine is not the same, faith and congregation isn´t either. Faith is Love. Beyond words, our lifes talk more than our words, not to be loved, but because of we are God's beloved and we must response to that.
I did a google search on Vic Scaravilli. It appears his sole claim to fame, from an educational standpoint, is that he's " actively pursuing a Master's degree in theology from Franciscan University in Steubanville[Ohio]". For the uninitiated, a blue collar, third tier institution that admits almost 90% of those who apply.
So, even among Catholic theologians, this guy would never fit in with the Georgetown/Notre Dame/Fordham crowd. A bush leaguer, at best.
This year, his evangelization team was selected to represent the entire West Coast. This is quite an honor. His mission is to preach the Basic Gospel Message.
He is based out of Klamath Falls, Oregon, under the supervision of Bishop Robert Vasa.
Vic is just beginning in his ministry. He's only been doing this for about seven years. This is only the tip of the iceberg. Be assured you will hear much more from him in the years-to-come.
Also, just for your information ... the original apostles didn't have an Ivy League education. Every member of the Body of Christ, from the youngest to the oldest, is called (even required) to proclaim Christ's message. No fancy bells and whistles are needed.
"... the original apostles didn't have an Ivy League education. "
Now you are sounding like the same type of anti-intellectual fundie that are the nutriant auger for Jack Chick's Petri dish. They employ this same argument in defending their preachers who lack education.
I removed the comment you posted today. It was just too much. If you can't conduct yourself in a Christian manner on my video comments, I'll block you. This is your first and last warning!
Button36:I accept Jesus as my personal Saviour. I am a Catholic. As a Catholic I believe the teachings of the Catholic Church. The Church teaches that Catholic Faith and the Baptism of water are needed for all people in general, barring the exceptions, for salvation.Catholic Faith includes faith in Jesus and the Baptism of water obviously.
This has been the teaching in the Catholic Church for over 1500 years before Bible only churches emerged. The Holy Spirit still guides the Catholic Church.
Attention all CATHOLICS and CHRISTIANS, Islam has oficially surpassed Roman Catholicism according to a yahoo article I read 2 months ago.. Islam is Offically the 2nd largest religion of the world next to CHRISTIANITY.
Islam is taking over.. Our future is in great danger.. How long before ISLAM becomes the # 1 religion of the world??
Steubenville is a pretty good school - especially for Christian stuidies, the Bible most particularly. Steubenville has the single largest master's program in the USA. Not bad for a "third tier" institution. I've met a number of grads from Steubenville, and they're top notch.
Im Protestant. I dont beleive in indulgences, praying to mary, and that when you take communion you are drinking and eating the actual blood and flesh of christ.
ok how can he say the chick tratcs are mostly against catholics all of them are against sin and its a warning about 4 or a couple are against the catholic church
Why so concerned with labels ie catholic, protestant etc...?If Christ died for you was it to turn you into a catholic? protestant?I'll be willing to bet that the first century church was nothing like it is today "catholic" or "protestant" Christ said simply "you will know them by their fruit"
How was the Bible canonized? Could you please give me facts - who did it, when, what was their guide? You mentioned that there is NO continuity between the Catholic Church and the apostles. Could you please give me historical facts to justify your claim? Where has the Catholic Church left the gospel? What is the gospel in your definition? What does the Catholic Church teach that is contradictory to the Bible?
I really don't think, that we have to argue about facts here. As a matter of fact I agree with common roman-catholic church history when it comes to the dates and facts of canonisation. But: No book of the bible receives its authority from the fact of canonisation. The other way round: Because a book already has divine authority (through inspiration) it so to say stands the test -- and therefore it is accepted to the canon.
For example in 2 Peter 3, 14 f the letters of Paul are already recommended as scripture -- long before the end of canonisation in the 4th century (Athanasius of Alexandria). By the way,the Synod of Carthage (397) acknowledged the same canon as Luther -- no deuterocanonical
books here (= no reference for purgatory and requiem masses!).
Catholic teachings and practices that are not christian: purgatory, primacy of the pope, veneration of Mary and Saints, sacramentalism etc.
Let's do math. The Protestant Bible, compiled in the year 1500 by Luther has 66 books. The Orthodox Church, created at the schism of 1066, has 76 books and an extra Psalm (1 Esdras, 3 & 4 Maccabees and Psalm 151). The Catholic Church, first mentioned by NAME in the year 110 AD by St. Ignatius of Antioch (a Catholic Bishop) has 73 books. I don't know how the Orthodox Bible got more books but I do know how the Protestant Bible got less!
1. First I have to correct myself: The Canon of Carthage included the so called deuterocanonical books. But it doesn't matter anyway, for we don't know that the scriptures are inspired BECAUSE the church tells us so, but because they ARE inspired and therefore they prove as so!
2. The roman catholic canon finally wasn't established until the Council of Trent (16th).
Luther, "establishing" the 66 book bible, followed St. Jerome and the tradition of Israel (39 OT books!).
For enlightning inforamtions on this topic I recommend Chapter 7 of the first book of John Calvin's "Institutes of the Christian religion", called "The testimony of the spirit necesary to give full authority to scripture. The impiety of pretending that the credibility of scripture depends on the judgment of the church".
First I have to correct myself: The synod of Carthage acknowledged the so called deuterocanonical books (dcb) - together with 1 Esdras!
The final roman catholic "canon" was established on the Council of Trent (after Luther's death!) by "deleting" 1 Esdras from the canon! And actually there were a lot of (roman) catholics throughout history, who rejected the dcb (just like Israel a. the Protestants!), among them: Origen, Athanasius, Jerome, "Pope" Gregory I., Cardinal Cajetan ...
The word of God comes in two ways, though: the written word and the unwritten word. Nowhere does it ever state in the bible that word of God "must be written down" in order for it to be legitimate. Peter & Paul preached the unwritten gospel of Jesus Christ. The unwritten word is known as "Sacred Tradition". Read 2Thess2:15; 3:6. They were guided by the Holy Spirit with all authority.
Peter had the Keys. In the OT, Keys were a symbol of authority. They constantly urged people to remain (contd)

The power to bind and loose belongs to all of Jesus' disciples, not just Peter. All off Jesus' disciples have the keys of the kingdom of heaven.
Speaking to his disciples Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, whatsoever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatsoever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." (Matt 18:18)
All christians have the keys to the kingdom of heaven.
Here's how I believe we got the Bible. A few centuries after Christ, the Church realized that there was the need for a universally accepted library of texts which express the faith. Church leaders (bishops) started sending letters around to each other discussing the issue. Every so often, they would get together and discuss it in person.
Eventually, they got it down to what is now the Catholic Bible. At this point a Council was called to finalize the list and declare it settled.
From a linguistic standpoint Catholics are obviously Christian in the English meaning of the word, they were the only English-speaking Christians when the word was translated by English Christians to describe themselves. Also, when the word started in Greek, there was no one with Chicks viewpoints.
I don't know what Hillsong is, but I do like Declan Galbraith. Whatever it is ... moderation is the key. I mean, you can turn food into an idol if you're not careful. Don't be too scrupulous. It'll give you an ulcer!
How did the Bible come into existence? Did it drop out of heaven one day, or did a source determine what writings were really inspired by God? If so,what was that source?
There are two major errors in roman-catholic thinking here:
1.) You don't recognize, that there is a difference between the way the bible came into existence and the compilation of the book. The bible came into existence because God wanted it to -- therefore He inspired men like the apostles.
What about the old testament canon? Didn't it exist in Judaism long before the churchly institutions came into existence?Again: The bible exists, because the allmighty sovereign God ordained it to be. Therefore he used the church (see point 2).
2.) Of course I have to admit, that the bible is a book of the curch. But that's in no way a concession to your position, because there is no continuity between the roman-catholic institution and the church founded by Christ (upon Peter's confession, not upon Peter himself!). If the roman-catholic church was the church of the first century, if it was the church of the bible, why then does it teach things not to be found in or even contrary to scripture?
Because there is no real continuity between the church of Rome and the church of the apostles, even though roman-catholics always claim it. The so called apostolic succesion is a hoax and the roman church has left the path of the gospel long ago.
But the worst of all seems to me, that the roman church preaches a false gospel when it comes to justification and God's grace.
So don't be content with confuting Chick tracts - better grab your bibles and compare the things Saint Paul teaches in his letters to the Romans and the Ephesians with what your church teaches for example in the decree about justification by the council of Trent.
My eye opener is Luther's adding "alone" to the phrase "justified by faith". "Faith, hope & love, & the greatest of these is LOVE"--NOT faith. RE: Purgatory, Jesus refers to an opportunity for forgiveness "in an age to come." Mt 12:32 "but whoever speaks against the holy Spirit will not be forgiven, EITHER in THIS age OR IN THE AGE TO COME. In THE Bible 2 Mc 12:42-46 "...for if he were not expecting the fallen to rise again, it would have been useless & foolish to pray for them in death."Peace
Consider this: The first eight chapters of St. Paul's letter to the Romans (so to say St. Paul's dogmatic credo) deal with justification by faith. Also there are plenty of scripture verses, which make it plain. For example John 3,18: "He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."
If justification is not by faith alone, how does it work then? By works? By works and faith?I think Paul made it very plain, that this is not the case: "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." (Eph 2, 8 a. 9).You might think of love as a reason for justification, but don't forget: man doesn't love God until he has come to faith - for love follows faith and regeneration! It's a fruit, not a premise.
That's a ridiculous statement based on pure ignorance. Go check out a Catholic Mass. I'd bet that we read more from the Bible on any given Sunday, more ... any given weekday, than your church does. Half the Mass is devoted to the Bible, while the other half is excerpted from it.
I dont think so my friend..in your church are a lots of idols like that one who claims to be mary and people bow to her...even the pope does it...that is a fact that they dont preach and teach the bible..:)
Don't get me wrong, but confuting Jack Chick tracts isn't a proper way to prove the correctitude of your church's teachings - every human being with an IQ above 30 should be able to notice how ridiculous and tendentious these tracts are.
But nevertheless that doesn't mean, that the roman teachings are correct. In fact the roman church taught and teaches serious heresies like for example purgatory and the veneration of saints.
The Catholic Church is the original Christian Church. All other "churches", Baptist, Methodist, Lutheran, etc, have her as their Mother, they would not exist otherwise.
The Roman church, not yet called catholic, was merging with the Pagan worshipers and instituted infant baptism. The "people" that didnt go along were called ana-baptists and were never part of the Popish regime.
Cardinal Hosius (Catholic, 1524), President of the Council of Trent:
"Were it not that the baptists have been grievously tormented and cut off with the knife during the past twelve hundred years, they would swarm in greater number than all the Reformers."
"The Baptists are the only body of known Christians that have never symbolized with Rome."
Mosheim (Lutheran):
"Before the rise of Luther and Calvin, there lay secreted in almost all the countries of Europe persons who adhered tenaciously to the principles of modern Dutch Baptists."
Some people are very ignorant to believe that Catholicism is a different religion than Christianity. Roman Catholisism is Christianity. Its the first Christianity Church. Now when Prostestants came about, they removed many books from the Holy Bible. Such as topics doing with Purgatory, Confession, and etc....One of the stupidist things i have heard...is that some people say Catholicism is a cult...People are fucking dumb to say that.
You mean Catholic inserted books into the Bible. the Apocryphal books aren't even considered scripture by the Jews that wrote them. But they do give the Church some backing to say where purgatory comes from. It is also interesting to note that every OT book is quoted in the NT. The apocryphal books were already in existence by then, why weren't they quoted?
Actually, they were quoted, about 30 times. The list is cited on a site called Scripture Catholic. You'll find the list under deuterocanon, I believe. The Catholics also never inserted books into the bible. That's plain wrong. It was Martin Luther who removed seven. In fact, originally, he removed James, Jude, Hebrews and Revelation from his new protestant bible, but later put them back in. This is a historical fact.
Some Deutero quotes in the NT: Matt. 2:16 - Herod's decree of slaying innocent children prophesied in Wis. 11:7 - slaying the holy innocents. Matt. 6:19-20 - Jesus' statement about laying up for yourselves treasure in heaven follows Sirach 29:11 - lay up your treasure. Matt.. 7:12 - Jesus' "do unto others" is the converse of Tobit 4:15 - what you hate, do not do to others. Matt. 7:16,20 - Jesus', "you will know them by their fruits" follows Sirach 27:6 - the fruit discloses the cultivation ...
Matt. 9:36 - the people were "like sheep without a shepherd" is same as Judith 11:19 - sheep without a shepherd. Matt. 11:25 - Jesus' description "Lord of heaven and earth" is the same as Tobit 7:18 - Lord of heaven and earth. Matt. 12:42 - Jesus refers to the wisdom of Solomon which was recorded and made part of the deuterocanonical books. Matt. 16:18 - Jesus' reference to the "power of death" and "gates of Hades" references Wisdom 16:13.

Thanks for these videos!
mikeellerbeck 1 year ago 9
@mikeellerbeck A lot of the Eastern Orthodox Churches are already in union with Rome, that is, they are a Catholic Church. They're just not a Roman Rite. An example would be the Byzantine Rite. There's also almost unanimous agreement amongst the Orthodox Patriarchs (with the exception of Russia) that the schism that occurred in the year 1000 (approximately) should end and the Catholic and Orthodox churches should reunite. May as well be Catholic, IMHO. God bless! Any ?'s email me.
Button36 1 year ago 2
@Button36 Do you have any good reading material on the Orthodox (Russia)?
catchzz 1 year ago
@mikeellerbeck I have a big article on the Orthodoxy/Catholic reunification movement on my website. Go to Catholic Digital Studio, click on Videos, select The Miracle of Damascus. The article attached to that video series discusses that ecumenical movement and I've tried to keep it updated. The video deals with a mystic whose messages dealt heavily with ending the schism between the Orthodox and Catholic Churches.
Button36 1 year ago
@Button36 Basically, Mike, whatever you do, just search for the Truth. This should be the NUMBER ONE reason you join any church. That would be a good explanation for your parents, and if they're reasonable people, which I'm sure they are, they'd respect that.
Button36 1 year ago
@mikeellerbeck Part1
Jakareh75 1 year ago
@mikeellerbeck Part 2
Jakareh75 1 year ago
@mikeellerbeck Please my brother, do not be deceived. Join the roman catholic before it is too late.It is only the catholic church that has the Eucharist which is the heart of the church. Jesus founded the holy catholic church and made peter the first pope 2000 years ago. Jesus also celebrated the holy Eucharist in the last supper before good friday. martin luther was the founder of protestanism 500yrs agodue to lack of understanding. Some good pastors recommend it for christeand.

Any thoughts or suggestions that may help me handle this?

Matthew 23:9
And do not call anyone on earth 'father,' for you have one Father, and he is in heaven.

Button36 2 years ago
Button36 2 years ago
1 Cor 4:14-15 - I became your father in Christ thru the gospel. 1 Tim 1:2 - my true child in the faith. Tit 1:4 - my true child in our common faith. (Children have father and mother). Heb 12:7-9 - we have earthly fathers to discipline us. Lk 14:26 - if anyone comes to me without hating his father ... 1 Thess 2:11 - we treated you as a father treats his children. Philem 10 - whose father I became in my imprisonment. 1 Jn 2:13,14 - I write to you, fathers, because you know him.

yu bow down to graven images, the cross, you bow down the pics of POPE! You bow down toVirgin Mary! ALL NO NO's IN BIBLE!
YOU SIR ARE NOT A CHRISTIAN!
nawktor 2 years ago
What you are describing is called VENERATION, or a show of respect towards someone, or a something representing such a one, who is either in a position of authority, such as the Holy Father, or a position of a higher degree of holiness, such as the Virgin Mary. Ultimately, veneration is derived from respecting their greater likeness to Christ. We venerate with various bodily postures. WORSHIP, on the other hand, is offering sacrifice. Mass and offering the Eucharist is an example of worship.
Button36 2 years ago
nawktor, you have WORSHIP and VENERATION confused.
Button36 2 years ago
The Popish church has redefined the word venerate so you don't feel like you are doing something wrong. But what does it mean to worship something? why don't we use the Bible definition: shachah in hebrew or proskuneo in greek. Both have the same meaning: to kiss his master's hand, to crouch or bow to, to prostrate oneself in homage. So based on the Bible, Catholics Worship Mary, the Pope dead people. You can use whatever term you like, but the Bible definition is always right. Amen.
tonyb408 2 years ago
The Magisterium has defined the terms to distinguish between pagan worship practices, which often involved human sacrifice on an altar, and veneration, paying homage. The former is true worship. The latter is an external sign of respect. There is a difference. I actually find it offensive that you'd equate the two. If you don't believe me, watch a video on Human Sacrifice by A&E. Netflix has it online. The OT times were full of blood sacrifices, often children. Educate yourself, please.
Button36 2 years ago
An example of true idolatry (worship) in modern times would be the blood of unborn babies being sacrificed on the altar of worldly pleasures. A more metaphoric form of idolatry occurs anytime a person places anything above God, Example: you stay home and watch football instead of attending Mass. In that case, you're sacrificing your own salvation on the altar of gluttony.
Button36 2 years ago
I'm glad the Magisterium has redefined the Bible definition of the word. And of course you believe what the Magesterium says because the Papcy through the ages has continually told the laity that the Bible is too difficult to understand so they need to interpret it for you. The Bible defines itself plainly as it says in 2 Peter 1:20 - "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation."

I think they knelt before it if memory serves. 1 Kgs 6:23-29 - the temple had engraved cherubim (angels), trees, flowers. 1 Kngs 7:25-45 - the temple had bronze oxen, lions pomegranates.

Hmm...
PilgrimToChrist 2 years ago 2
to onmyway 09: the reason protestants, in the past anyway, don't like roman catholics is because protestants were persecuted and killed by the church for not bowing to the pope. protestant comes from the word protest and they protested the mother church's ungodly doctrines, man made traditions, and how the pope and his crew felt they could change GOD's never changing word. early protistants knew that the roman catholic church was not and is not the true church of GOD.

We're the apostolic church, and we preach peace throughout the world. Why do protestants hate us?

simply put, there are only two ways of looking at christianity, the trinitarian catholic approach which is really a pagan believe system implemented by the roman establishment to suit their own means, and then there is the ORIGINAL divine revelation of UNITARIANISM which is strict adherence to the oneness of GOD that means being strictly anti-trinitarianism(anti-establishment)! and that means letting go of the notion that the Holy Messenger Jesus is the Lord himself.

These are people who are called by God to repentence and through faith in jesus are reconciled to God.They enjoy fellowship with God Through the indwelling Holy Spirit.

Button36 2 years ago
Unless this was said in English originally, I wouldn't put any credit to this quote. JP2 rarely spoke English. The translator probably made an error because this is heresy. You don't need to try and dig up dirt on Pope so and so from 1235 and read everything he's said and done to know what we teach. We teach openly in the Catechism. Worship of the Virgin Mary is a mortal sin and it's forbidden. End of story. It's in the book. That's what we teach. There's no conspiracy veil here.
Button36 2 years ago

Nuff said.
gilbygil11 2 years ago

Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
hier0phant 3 years ago 3
I assume you were an infant baptism? It is Catholic teaching - though not all Catholics are aware of this - that in order to receive the full graces of the Holy Spirit you must CONVERT, that is, accept Jesus Christ as your personal saviour, once you've attained the age of reason. If you are an unbaptized adult going thru RCIA, you must accept Christ FIRST - convert - and then be Baptized. The reverse order. I'm happy for you, but nothing you've written is against Catholic teaching. God Bless!
Button36 3 years ago
If you have the time, watch my series called "God Loves You." It's in my Video Log. It explains my first comment more completely and discusses accepting Christ and true conversion. Really, true conversion is conversion of heart. Baptism alone without conversion will not save you. So you are correct. You just had your conversion experience as an adult and received the full graces of the Holy Spirit at that time. Me? I had my conversion at the age of 30, but was Baptized as an infant.
Button36 3 years ago
One qualification needs be made: Baptism alone without conversion will not save you once you've attained the age of reason. Before the age of reason, if you've not had a conversion experience, Baptism will save you. The age of reason is approximately six years of age.
Button36 3 years ago
Expanding that statement even further, Baptism confers upon the soul Sanctifying Grace. One can sin after the age of reason because reason is required in order to commit a mortal sin, the sin of spiritual death. So if you have been Baptized, attained the age of reason, and have not lost the Sanctifying Grace of Baptism, then the sacrament alone without conversion saves. But the risk is that after the age of reason, those graces can be lost. The true judge of one's soul, of course, is Jesus.

Present Profession(s): taxidermist, Catholic teacher, student.
This year, his evangelization team was selected to represent the entire West Coast. This is quite an honor. His mission is to preach the Basic Gospel Message.
He is based out of Klamath Falls, Oregon, under the supervision of Bishop Robert Vasa.

VicScaravilli 3 years ago
I really don't think, that we have to argue about facts here. As a matter of fact I agree with common roman-catholic church history when it comes to the dates and facts of canonisation. But: No book of the bible receives its authority from the fact of canonisation. The other way round: Because a book already has divine authority (through inspiration) it so to say stands the test -- and therefore it is accepted to the canon.
TimotheosCauvin 3 years ago
For example in 2 Peter 3, 14 f the letters of Paul are already recommended as scripture -- long before the end of canonisation in the 4th century (Athanasius of Alexandria). By the way,the Synod of Carthage (397) acknowledged the same canon as Luther -- no deuterocanonical
books here (= no reference for purgatory and requiem masses!).
Catholic teachings and practices that are not christian: purgatory, primacy of the pope, veneration of Mary and Saints, sacramentalism etc.
TimotheosCauvin 3 years ago
Let's do math. The Protestant Bible, compiled in the year 1500 by Luther has 66 books. The Orthodox Church, created at the schism of 1066, has 76 books and an extra Psalm (1 Esdras, 3 & 4 Maccabees and Psalm 151). The Catholic Church, first mentioned by NAME in the year 110 AD by St. Ignatius of Antioch (a Catholic Bishop) has 73 books. I don't know how the Orthodox Bible got more books but I do know how the Protestant Bible got less!
Button36 3 years ago
TimotheosCauvin 3 years ago
For enlightning inforamtions on this topic I recommend Chapter 7 of the first book of John Calvin's "Institutes of the Christian religion", called "The testimony of the spirit necesary to give full authority to scripture. The impiety of pretending that the credibility of scripture depends on the judgment of the church".
TimotheosCauvin 3 years ago

How did the Bible come into existence? Did it drop out of heaven one day, or did a source determine what writings were really inspired by God? If so,what was that source?
VicScaravilli 3 years ago
Thank you, thank you, Vic!
Button36 3 years ago
There are two major errors in roman-catholic thinking here:
1.) You don't recognize, that there is a difference between the way the bible came into existence and the compilation of the book. The bible came into existence because God wanted it to -- therefore He inspired men like the apostles.
TimotheosCauvin 3 years ago
What about the old testament canon? Didn't it exist in Judaism long before the churchly institutions came into existence?Again: The bible exists, because the allmighty sovereign God ordained it to be. Therefore he used the church (see point 2).
TimotheosCauvin 3 years ago
2.) Of course I have to admit, that the bible is a book of the curch. But that's in no way a concession to your position, because there is no continuity between the roman-catholic institution and the church founded by Christ (upon Peter's confession, not upon Peter himself!). If the roman-catholic church was the church of the first century, if it was the church of the bible, why then does it teach things not to be found in or even contrary to scripture?
TimotheosCauvin 3 years ago
Because there is no real continuity between the church of Rome and the church of the apostles, even though roman-catholics always claim it. The so called apostolic succesion is a hoax and the roman church has left the path of the gospel long ago.
TimotheosCauvin 3 years ago
But the worst of all seems to me, that the roman church preaches a false gospel when it comes to justification and God's grace.
So don't be content with confuting Chick tracts - better grab your bibles and compare the things Saint Paul teaches in his letters to the Romans and the Ephesians with what your church teaches for example in the decree about justification by the council of Trent.
May God open your eyes and bless you.
TimotheosCauvin 3 years ago
My eye opener is Luther's adding "alone" to the phrase "justified by faith". "Faith, hope & love, & the greatest of these is LOVE"--NOT faith. RE: Purgatory, Jesus refers to an opportunity for forgiveness "in an age to come." Mt 12:32 "but whoever speaks against the holy Spirit will not be forgiven, EITHER in THIS age OR IN THE AGE TO COME. In THE Bible 2 Mc 12:42-46 "...for if he were not expecting the fallen to rise again, it would have been useless & foolish to pray for them in death."Peace
michiganois 3 years ago
The bible teaches justification by faith alone.
TimotheosCauvin 3 years ago
If justification is not by faith alone, how does it work then? By works? By works and faith?I think Paul made it very plain, that this is not the case: "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." (Eph 2, 8 a. 9).You might think of love as a reason for justification, but don't forget: man doesn't love God until he has come to faith - for love follows faith and regeneration! It's a fruit, not a premise.

But nevertheless that doesn't mean, that the roman teachings are correct. In fact the roman church taught and teaches serious heresies like for example purgatory and the veneration of saints.

A few more quotes for you:
Sir Isaac Newton:

"Before the rise of Luther and Calvin, there lay secreted in almost all the countries of Europe persons who adhered tenaciously to the principles of modern Dutch Baptists."

You mean Catholic inserted books into the Bible. the Apocryphal books aren't even considered scripture by the Jews that wrote them. But they do give the Church some backing to say where purgatory comes from. It is also interesting to note that every OT book is quoted in the NT. The apocryphal books were already in existence by then, why weren't they quoted?
tonyb408 2 years ago
Actually, they were quoted, about 30 times. The list is cited on a site called Scripture Catholic. You'll find the list under deuterocanon, I believe. The Catholics also never inserted books into the bible. That's plain wrong. It was Martin Luther who removed seven. In fact, originally, he removed James, Jude, Hebrews and Revelation from his new protestant bible, but later put them back in. This is a historical fact.
