  • whats the song at 2;05 anyone?

  • large sound for the size!

  • this guitar is horrible and has this weird shape. washburn rover it's much better.

  • really like my backpacker but this video is just retarted. whats up with the guitar just posing in random places. i feel worse about owning one now

  • put a capo on 5 and you have a mandolin.... put one on 8 and you have a ukulele

  • sounds good...

  • Kinda appropriate that you took pictures of this in front of an out-house......cause it sounds like CRAP Yikes.....does IT not stay in tune, or can you just not tune?

  • Kinda appropriate that you took pictures of this in front of an out-house......cause it sounds like SHIT! Yikes.....does IT not stay in tune, or can you just not tune?

  • Mick, IMO it's just out of tune. I've had mine for 3 years. If you change the strings every 3 months it holds its tune nicely. It can definitely take a beating. I smack mine all over the house and it is always strapped to my Jeep or motorcycle, the dogs crawl all over it and it really doesn't faulter. I've played other small guitars that are marketed as "backpackers" but a lot of them a just cheap versions of the full-size guitars. This thing is defintiely cool.

  • is 10 the maximum gauge of the strings? or how is it?

  • @Paradisecity1992 They say not to go over nines... But I would say if you tuned down a half step it would not put as much stress on the instrument and should be fine.

  • I always used ultra light nines, but I would say you could go up to tens and stay down a half step with no issues.

  • I know that you should use light strings on this guitar for standard tuning, but what if you use regular or medium but tuned down a few steps or so. Would that work?

  • Don't know if you tried the Washburn Rover travel guitar, but if so. Which one will you recommend?

  • well, that's what I call a untuned guitar...

  • The needle and the damage done!

  • I have a BACKPACKER and I love it. Still it'd be nice if it had more frets. It's sometimes a bit frustrating specially when playing rock'n'roll. I've put a few videos on You-Tube under the name of BLACKIEWOODPECKER in which I play my Backpacker just for the heck of it ! ! ! Love to you all. If ever you can give me names of similar travel-guitars having more frets please let me know My E-mail address is : gillesbastiani@live.fr THANKS A LOT

  • seems like a good deal for 200$

  • can't help it... all small body guitars sound shitty, no offense...

  • The Martin BP guitar sounds like a very thin small body guitar. I dont have any better way of explaining it. This recording was done with a high quality four directional microphone, so that's what it sounds like. Gain was set to mid, and the soud hole of the guitar was about 12" away.

  • How does the sound compare to an unplugged electric? I mean, I've played a couple similar things (not a Martin I don't think) and it wasn't any better than an unplugged electric.

  • You're a little out of tune there buddy

  • @macintologist04 That's okay. This was a demo audio/video for the Ebay ad when I was selling it.. Got more for the guitar than expected so evidently the buyer didnt care..

  • i have a backpacker, its not martin but i know for a fact it has 19 frets.

  • These are nice sounding guitars but I don't like that they're only 15 fret, there are others like these with a full neck.

  • @asherasator its still an amazing guitar...

  • I love this guitar!!

  • Looks great with the outhouse as a backdrop.

  • Thanks, but that's actually my outdoor shower..Either way it's still pretty red.

  • i wouldn't call this a real guitar, but it's close enough. it would be kinda useful if i wanted to strum cords loudly at three o'clock after midnight without my neighbours starting screeming abuse !

  • wheres this guitar made?

  • I like mine. It sounds like a cross between a uke and a dulcimer. Does anyone find them slightly hard to keep in tune though? Specially if you play it rather hard.

  • Cool peghead! Looks like one long stick. Mine looks different, has a more pronounced 'Martin-brand' headstock, with the logo embossed up top instead of on the body. You're sporting an earlier model, I reckon.

I love the case, too. Looks like you're walking in carrying a rifle, heh heh.

  • Chad your playing is fantastic!
