Someone needs to tell that old fart Phelps that two wrongs don't make a right. I cannot believe someone claiming to be a man of God could be so definitively EVIL. He is the EPITOME of what is WRONG about religion; stop imposing on others, stop trying to shove your beliefs (or BLINDNESS as I call it) down the throats of others. Many people that call themselves Christians are some of the most evil people that have walked the earth. Hitler is a good example.

I think you have characterized Carlin pretty well, and his humor does come from anger.

But to compare what he did to what Fred Phelps does is ludicrous. People can avoid Carlin if they want, but Phelps imposes himself on others. He protests at military funerals, GLOATING over the death. He CELEBRATES suffering and catastrophes like 9-11 and Katrina. He condemns to HELL, just about everybody who isn't in his cult.

There is no comparison here.

George Carlin is the greatest comedian to have been on stage, he was a comical genius. He didn't judge other people simply because of the colour of thier skin or sexuality. He was a very good, moral man. On the other hand we have Mr Phelps, a raging homophobic, rasict, and will hurt people by picketing funerals of dead soldiers. Two completely different people who should not be compared, Carlin's 'rage' was for comedy, it was pure genius. Phelps' rage is idiotic and mindless. Like this video.

Great assessment of the situation at hand. I'm not sure why the Ol' Testtube Preacher cursed the dead (RIP) other than perhaps to draw attention to himself.
