it doesnt make you crazy like meth but takes away your motivation at first we will get more money than eventually we'll lose a lot because they are going to be so baked they can barely do their jobs
@ColdBloodedSleeper What? ahah. No. We have alcohol legal. Why aren't so many people too drunk to work? Because if you have to work don't get drunk or stoned. Besides there's no reason why people would just shrug away all of society to suddenly smoke pot endlessly into the night. We'll gain money not lose it. Both in the private sector and the public sector from the taxes on it.

Alcohol is way more dangerous on every level. You can't OD on pot, but you can die from drinking too much in one sitting. Some people become genuinely violent when drunk, never once in my life have I met a violent stoner. Alcohol itself has NO medicinal benefits whatsoever. It's also significantly more addictive than pot.
The reason pot is illegal is because it doesn't have rich powerful lobbyists advocating it.
Pot smoking is dangerous. This guy came to our school to talk about drugs, and he was an addict to pot, alcohol, and coke for 20 years. He said he was driving with his friends while he was high, but something about him was off (I forget what it was) and he thought he was driving at a normal speed, but he was driving REALLY fast. He crashed into somone's fence. Imagine if he had run someone over or all the people in the car were injured. However, I still have mixed feelings on if it should be...
@HaruhiIzumi so because a guy comes to your school claiming to have been "addicted" to pot and tells some stupid story, you think pot is dangerous? come on boy. your school isn't going to have someone objective come to talk to you. they're gonna get some clown to come make shit up to scare you. i don't know anything about who the guy was, but i know a enough about pot to know there's a 99.9% chance that story is completely fabricated.
That's bullshit! Pot smokers (only) don't drive too fast. They drive the speed limit or they drive too slow. Everyone I have ever known who has driven stoned has driven at least 10mph under the speed limit. It's because they know they are high and are paranoid about getting caught. In fact, research in the UK concluded that people driving high are relatively safe drivers because they are aware of their condition and compensate for it by driving even more cautiously.
No one has the right to regulate me or my mind, and if you think you or anyone else has that right, you are part of my sworn enemy. Psychedelics should be legal. Heroin should be legal. There should be no drug laws, period, other that they may not be sold to minors. Controlling one's brain is the most intimate, invasive, authoritarian, totalitarian, fascist, evil type of control.
With alcohol people can tend to become violent. With marijuana people theorize how to solve the world's problems (this can be dangerous only if we take the theories seriously).
The criminalization of the world's most useful and versatile plant, Cannabis/Hemp/Marijuana/Ganja, was Unconstitutional ... a crime against humanity and nature.
@Anomki Yes but look at three little meaningless elements on the Periodic table. Elements 29, 47, and 79 are Copper, Silver, and Gold. Three little elements right? Look what we've done to the world with them.
@Anomki IT IS! You know what else hemp is? The CURE for CANCER! Hemp oil, look it up. This one fellow was growing pot in Nova Scotia so he could make oil out of it. Not to get high, but to give away to people who had cancer. He could sell it for hundreds per ounce, but wants to help people. It was actually discovered back in the 70s but instead of giving cancer patience this free cure, they give them other expensive treatments to line the wallets of people in the pharmecutical industry.
Ok old people...the people who are in their 60s are the ones that were around when the whole hippie free love thing was going on...I know a lot of them would still want it legalized and would agree with the youth of today. and the poll the used is ridiculous because its not every single person under 30 that wants it legalized and its not ever person over 65 that wants it to remain illegal. and this dude in the vid is just like all other reporters twisting the words of others to prove a point...
@archangel8323 .....that fits his agenda. this is why media is BAD for us. the man was saying that pot should be legalized for medicinal purposes and not for recreational use. That old man wasn't saying "oh yea give it to me if i am in pain, but don't give it to everyone else." I am not impressed with this place it looks like what is discrbed as "new media" is just the same as old media..just stick with the facts and leave out the exaggerations for entertainment purposes.
Debating on pot is stupid, even when it was illegal it was still readily available. also it raises a lot of money in tax dollars. The government is so damn full of itself it thinks it owns and controls the people. Lol i'm from la it's legal here.
once all the babyboomers die it will probably be legal. america is filled with old bastards right now becuase of the after effects of ww2. hence in a few decades all of them will be gone and most likely we'll see a change. unless ofcourse if they influence everyone else into being idiots like them.
fuck that shit....SAVE THE ECONOMY....LEGALIZE MARIJUANA.....if the gov't taxes pot......AMERICA WOULD BE LIVIN GREAT....because so many people buy pot....its the perfect solution..............AGAINST POT PROHIBITION
@34601k, God your an idiot, that's what you used in your argument, taking man made drugs as opposed to using something that grows naturally from the earth, how dumb
I believe that pot should be legalized for LEGITIMATE medical reasons. I don't support just any person who wants to smoke to smoke it but I do support anyone who has a serious disease to smoke it.
@therush1892 If you don't have pain you don't need it. I support fully legalizing it on a federal level for MEDICAL purposes ONLY. If you don't have a serious disease(like muscle distrophy, AIDS, or glaucoma) you do not need it. Cannabis is a medication and if you are healthy you do not need medication its pure logic.
@34601k Not true. People who do not have a "serious disease" can still greatly benefit from marijuana usage. People who have a hard time relaxing after work, people who have trouble sleeping, people who are prone to nauseousness...these are not serious illnesses but these people can still benefit from smoking marijuana.
@PrincessRoxi07 Oh please a hard time relaxing after work? There are many BETTER treatments for that than to resort to using cannabis. Ever heard of massage, Nyquil, and Tylenol?
@34601k yes but if someone can smoke weed in their house without hurting you or anyone else not only do you not have a right to force them not to you're such an idiot that you would pay to have someone go track them down and arrest them house them in a building you payed for and feed them all with your money?
@Mooseboy240 I never said I'm interested in going after anyone for pot. I just find it a pitiful excuse. So don't go around making retarded assumptions like that.
@34601k Nyquil and Tylenol are drugs, which are far more dangerous seeing as how they contain acetaminophen- a drug that can lead to death through overdose, and damages the liver. Pot to this day, has never killed anyone. Tylenol? Hell yes lots. Nyquil? You Bet! Pot is illegal because it would interfere with the alcohol and tobacco industries. Who actually lobbied and ran ads to get it banned. I hope this broadened your understanding. Have a good one.
@34601k Your right about a massage. That would be great. But I've yet to find someone who will give me a massage for $10. And my boyfriend is too tired from work to give me one either.
@PrincessRoxi07 Lol I'd give you one if you wanted one. But theres a massage parlor right down my street and its legitimately run by some Chinese immigrants. Best 20 buck massage I ever got and its an hour too lol.
@LesediLoFi Too true! No deaths, no side affects, and there has actually been a study where they found that THC actually has a "anti- tumoral effect".
@PrincessRoxi07 I wish growers would stop constantly trying to up the THC level while ignoring the other active components. CBD is a natural anti-psychotic and provides a nice (and necessary) balance to the psychotropic effects of the THC. It's good to know that proper research is being done (albeit piece-meal), it's a sign of change to a more open minded society.
We didn't have a marijuana problem until marijuana prohibition!
0 deaths as a result of marijuana use in its entirety across the globe!
23,199 deaths related to alcohol in 09 in America alone!
It is impossible to overdose on marijuana! Caffeine can kill you. 214.86 cans of soda ingested by a 170 lbs adult, will kill them! 1972Commission on Marihuana and Drug Abuse concluded that while marijuana was not entirely safe, its dangers had been grossly overstated
Technically you can overdose on pot if you inject like one pound straight into your bloodstream. But I think injecting one pound of anything into your body is bad.
I hate you lefty douchebags (DungTurks) at the best of times. And you're way off again. Try the poll again with people under 50, not 30 for fuck sakes. Most of us would support legalization. You're trying to skew the numbers and play the "old farts are dumb old farts" card. When you aren't doing that, you're playing the "liberals are cool, conservatives are dorks" card. DOUBLE FAIL.
@CousinSkinny just like to make the point TYT did not do the poll, it was the associated press and CNBC so you really can't hate on TYT for just saying what the survey says. The reason the mentioned under 30 group was the fact more people wanted to legalize it then not to(54% for). Yes a large percentage of the under 50 group wanted to legalize as well but not a majority that is the reason it was not brought up.
re: the old guy from Mason, MI. Medical marijuana has been legalized by public vote here. And that guy's opinion isn't inconsistent at all. Compare it to Vicodin. Both drugs are legal for medical purposes and illegal for "recreational" purposes. It's *medicine*. Making medicine illegal because someone might get high off it is like making plaster casts for broken arms illegal because someone might use it to punch a window out and break into someone's house.
I dont buy any of that i'am 64 and i have fighting for decriminalized for over 25 years i have a lot of people that are my age that feel the same way i do.
@Squipplekillzbitches Drug prohibition will come to be seen has one of the largest injustices of the 20th & 21st centuries.
The fact that we have begun to treat perpetrators of injustice with such benign tolerance instead of the vicious intolerance they deserve is absolutely detestable. Equally shameful is the fact that the people and organisations responsible for the horrors of prohibition will get to walk away from the mess without being held accountable.
@oatbuck After the last 70 years ,You want to give these( kind of people) money for lieing to us ,GET REAL ! I will never will go for a tax on a plant. what was you thinking ?
@ryan651 heroin and cocaine also have high addiction rates, and are very damaging to ones body, and mind. Don't compare pot to cocaine and heroin becausee they are very different drugs. However, do your fuckin homework because cenk has said on the show that he is in favor of legalizing all drugs for adults because the government should not have control of what one puts into their own body and all that outlawing these substances does is increase gang violence in places like mexico and afghanistan
@guitarfishy529 I live in a country with universal healthcare and I don't want to have to pay more to help some prick who got addicted to any drug, we pay enough here for the alcholics and smokers alone
@ryan651 but thats the thing, is that dug addicts exist whether drugs are legal or not. so you are paying for them anyway. In fact, if illicit drugs were made legal and were taxed, those tax dollars could be put to health care. So not only would you be paying less in taxes because you wouldnt be paying to keep drug addicts locked up and to fight violent drug dealers. But you'd be paying less to take care of drug addicts because they would be the ones paying more in tax
@guitarfishy529 You made some wonderful points, and I am very glad to see someone defending their position without the use of cussing or other errors in their writing. This is very hard to find on youtube.
"Refusing" to grow help was illegal in America during the 17th and 18th Centuries. WAS AGAINST THE LAW! You could be jailed in Virginia for refusing to grow hemp from 1763 to 1769; Hemp in Colonial Virginia, G. M. Herdon." In a thank you note to a German(I think it was German anyways) harmonica company Abe Lincoln said "Two of my favorite things are sitting on my front porch smoking a pipe of sweet hemp, and playing my Hohner harmonica." Just about every Founding Father got toasted.
people dont die from marijuana. there has never been an incident where marijuana was bad enough to actually kill someone. caffeine kills like 2000 people anually and thats legal. but marijuana kills no one and we make such a big deal to keep it illegal?
toked since 1973, never once did I see or hear anyone say "damn! smoked that dooby, beat my wife and or kids. But don't remember hitting anyone. Seen and heard plenty of drunks do it and say it though.
@kimkongaroo - Yeah, pot doesn't turn people into thieves either, but an aweful lot of people get arrested for burglary, stating they were breaking into houses so they could get money to buy pot.
If you're going to pretend to be journalists, you should probably pretend to be responsible while doing it. Pot can be legal with a prescription, but you choose this 'all or nothing' approach to reporting, then claim people are contradicting themselves. Remember these two words: medicinal purposes.
@vidiot32224 I doubt they were after money for pot. That may even be what they said. But pot has no risk for physical dependency. Period. People can become psychological dependent on pot. PS- Pot is illegal in my state. A doctor in Texas cannot prescribe marijuana to a patient, even if they would benefit greatly from it.
But that's beside the point. It's my body, as long as I'm not driving or commiting a crime, who cares what chemicals I put in it? A victimless crime shouldn't be a crime.
awesom3 and great to smoke a bowl too! which i am doing! BHANG!!! All u fjellow stoners, come sub and friend me, yeah! FIRE IN THE HOLE!!!#^2^%$V F2&d(*
@scourgefe1nd Yeah, thats the answer. Legalize pot and meth and while your at it, tax it. That's so fucking stupid. If Obama thought he could control the growing of pot and profit from it, don't you think he would have already???
@greshamweed well, no he can't. because he would have to change state and federal regulations about pot let alone drugs. if you know that ppl are gunna do it anyway, then why not make it legal? pot, yes has med benefits. but the rest, not so much. cigarettes kill the most in the US and everyone is cool with that. why not make that illegal? it kills more ppl than all the drugs put together.
@greshamweed they'll never do that though. thats why i said let them tax it. anything that the govt makes legal they tax. that seems to be the priice we pay for having something legalized.
@scourgefe1nd I have a garden-nothing I eat from that garden is taxed. I planted it. I did all the work. The "government" did nothing. Why should I give them anything? You just want it legalized so that you can walk down the street smoggin. I say you grow whatever you want in your garden and injest it and the government can go fuck themselves!
@greshamweed I'm glad that you make the time to do that, to make your own produce. But unfortunately, most americans do not. either because they are too busy, or just don't care. you should not give the gov't anything, but they seem to take it all anyhow. i dont smoke weed, or do any other drugs. i dont even touch OTC if i cant help it. Problem is, ppl that are scared of "illegal" things will always turn you do-gooders in. its just a fact of life.
@greshamweed We need those taxes. Badly. I'm from California, and if we had passed Prop 21...like we should have...this huge financial hole we are in would have decreased immensely. Why not tax it? If people compare it to alcohol and cigarettes(which many people do), and those get taxed, shouldn't weed? It is a great source of money for any state, and since most of the U.S. is in the same financial situation California is in, we could all greatly benefit from it's taxation.
@PrincessRoxi07 You are wrong! None of it should be taxed. Tobacco and weed grow naturally and alcohol is just fermented fruit for God's sake. You know it's funny that weed started the counter-culture and now the counter-culture's offspring are all about government control and taxing every thing! Think about that!
Oh and by the way-the GOV caused the financial hole we are in!!!!!
@fatmoleman - What does being high feel like? I'm your same age and have never tried it - not because I've never wanted to, but because the only time I was offered it was when I was in front of my parents. I hear it's incredibly overrated.
@PlannedObsolescence Take what you see in a Cheech and Chong movie and tone it down a thousand notches. It's very relaxing, very mellow and just makes things better. You don't go crazy, you don't do stupid things, and it doesn't make you stupid. Don't be afraid to try it.
@iamsosquid Thanks for the insight. I guess every person who indulges can have a different reaction from the next person. My dad said it made him incredibly paranoid, like everyone was watching him as though he'd done something wrong. He was in high school at the time. I'm pushing 30 and have been to college, and the only thing I've ever smoked is pole.
@PlannedObsolescence Your right, every person is different. Also, every strain of weed is different. Some will make you focus, some will make you sleep, and some can help your creative juices flow.
I mean things can have medical significance but may not be good for you. Like the huge debate is embryonic stem cell research. NO QUESTION that it has medical benefits.... is ita good thing, is it ethical... thats the new question!
I think (hope) in this case it's not an issue of "you" versus "me", but an issue of "marihuana for medication" versus "marihuana for recreation". Still, I know pot is less addictive than alcohol and tobaco and that NO ONE has EVER died of a pot OD, so I'm for legalization of pot.
@hughster41 Ha - I certainly know a lot of people for whom I would make it mandatory! And then a few I would just like to see stoned...Pat Bucchanan for instance would be hilariously "unedited"
That's good news though, because eventually the "under 30" crowd will grow up and be part of the crowd serving in congress and government and having/raising kids who will grow up and have kids... So hopefully within the next few generations the stigma behind marijuana will be erased.
Some context: Doing (recreational) drugs was the NORM in the 60s & 70s, certainly for young people - perhaps even mainstream by today's standards.
Nixon used the term "War on Drugs", but it wasn't until Reagan in the 80s ("Just say no.", mandatory prison sentences for NON-violent drug offenders) that the war on drugs/prison industry became BIG business. Once again, the disconnect between modern "conservatism" & personal freedom ("less" govt.) was glaring. Hypocrisy.
I can almost guarentee that all the resistance against legalizing pot is from people who have never tried it, and have no idea what it does. They probably saw those crazy commercials that we saw at our high school with the teenage girl that clawed her face up... after smoking a joint. Right. Okay.
So that your neighbor can smoke his weed while you and your toddler have to smell that shit. So that your 9 year old can see fucktards high in the park.
@Joxman2k One thing I've noticed about people 'baked' on pot when presented with a forced promotional choice between two brand products at the grocery store. They always seem to ignore the promotion and go to the stock shelves to mull over more brands to chose from before they buy.
I say, lets get rid of the party system, and acknowledge that America is a true Democracy, and vote for PEOPLE who run for office, who in sense would all be Democrats. Let the Republicans move to Russia if they don't like it. This country will never be a republic. And why Socialism? This is a Democracy. Socialism doesn't belong in the great U.S.A. "Life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness". Freedom. That's Democracy.
@AmericanOriginals You contradicted yourself. First you say to get rid of the parties (which I do agree with) and to have people run for office, but then they all have to be democrats. and all of the republicans have to go to russia if we don't agree with it. And our system is a republic, not a democracy, already. Then you go and say life liberty and the pursuit of happiness, but sounds like thats only if I agree with you. BTW show me where a democracy has worked for many years. They don't work.
Pot was only made illegal because of its hemp purposes. Scared the cotton and paper industry. And so the campaign to make pot look like a dangerous drug began.
Sure a person is health wise better off if they don't smoke, but burgers, energy drinks, cigarettes, and alcohol are legal right? Each of those have more recorded deaths than pot (In that there has yet to be a proven case of pot-caused death).
the older folks are from a time when trust was higher in the gov't's motives than today. they believe the lies. young people...under 50...are from a different era with less trust and experience. who went thru DARE & trusts the gov't's propaganda today? my opinion is God made it,it dies,it dries. man has no part in it like plant based heroin & coke. God says"it's not what goes in a man's mouth that defiles him but, what comes out of a man's mouth that defiles him". a free nation doesn't care .
Anyway, regardless of what you call it, the older generation hasn't gotten the brainwashing of canibas demonization out their heads. And young children are being taught in DARE classes that cannabis is bad for you. Fuck that.
@MasterAdam100 It's not all bad. I'm a product of DARE. The bullshit they spew is so full of over the top bullshit that any kid with half a brain is going to know they were lied to by the time they turn 16. And the old fucks responsible for prohibition are dying off, though not nearly fast enough.
@bamboo4tameshigiri -I'm also a product of DARE. The only reason Prohibition of Alcohol got turned is that the men in Congress drank alcohol. If it was the crime that ended it, Prohibition of Cannabis would have been overturned long ago. Every member of Congress should be given a hash brownie with them thinking it's just a normal brownie.
Making a naturally growing plant illegal...sounds like the insane act of an alchoholic.
Of course pot should be legal, hell it was criminal making it illegal! It has long since reached a point of being undebatable. Overwhelmingly the data accumulated sides with having legal pot. Those who call for it to be illegal are behaving irrational, irresposible, and if they are a politician than also corrupt. Legalize it now!!
All drugs should be legal. This whole argument of more than half think it should be illegal is naive and demonstrates the danger of democracy.
Marijuana doesn't have medical benefits, it has therapeutical benefits. That was norml's way of reintroducing the legalization debate after it failed in the 70's on the grounds of personal liberty.
Again all drugs should be legal and sold in speciality stores. Since they are not, they are sold in the inner city by children.
Making drugs illegal is like pascal's wager. Would you prefer drugs regulated and taxed by the government? Or by Criminals who are mafiosas, and probably killers who dont give a shit about what happens to you. Those are the people that sell drugs today.
Don't lump all older people into the same ball of wax. I am 61 and I am all for legalization. I also think heroin should be available for the terminally ill who are in so much pain. Marijuana is illegal because hemp presents such a financial threat to so many different industries: paper(timber), oil, plastics, cotton, etc. It always comes down to money.
the people who want weed illegal are nazis and they should mind their own business. Take a class in personal responsibility and minding your own damn business. If you dont wanna smoke it then dont smoke it but stay out of my life.

I believe that pot should be legalized for LEGITIMATE medical reasons. I don't support just any person who wants to smoke to smoke it but I do support anyone who has a serious disease to smoke it.
34601k 1 year ago
@34601k
So you believe a plant should be illegal for people without medical issues? A plant?
therush1892 1 year ago
@therush1892 If you don't have pain you don't need it. I support fully legalizing it on a federal level for MEDICAL purposes ONLY. If you don't have a serious disease(like muscle distrophy, AIDS, or glaucoma) you do not need it. Cannabis is a medication and if you are healthy you do not need medication its pure logic.
34601k 1 year ago
@34601k
So you think a plant should be illegal?
therush1892 1 year ago
@therush1892 Only if you don't need the medicine then no just as I believe that tobacco should be illegal.
34601k 1 year ago
@34601k Not true. People who do not have a "serious disease" can still greatly benefit from marijuana usage. People who have a hard time relaxing after work, people who have trouble sleeping, people who are prone to nauseousness...these are not serious illnesses but these people can still benefit from smoking marijuana.
PrincessRoxi07 1 year ago
@PrincessRoxi07 Oh please a hard time relaxing after work? There are many BETTER treatments for that than to resort to using cannabis. Ever heard of massage, Nyquil, and Tylenol?
34601k 1 year ago
@34601k yes but if someone can smoke weed in their house without hurting you or anyone else not only do you not have a right to force them not to you're such an idiot that you would pay to have someone go track them down and arrest them house them in a building you payed for and feed them all with your money?
Mooseboy240 1 year ago
@Mooseboy240 I never said I'm interested in going after anyone for pot. I just find it a pitiful excuse. So don't go around making retarded assumptions like that.
34601k 1 year ago
@34601k Nyquil and Tylenol are drugs, which are far more dangerous seeing as how they contain acetaminophen- a drug that can lead to death through overdose, and damages the liver. Pot to this day, has never killed anyone. Tylenol? Hell yes lots. Nyquil? You Bet! Pot is illegal because it would interfere with the alcohol and tobacco industries. Who actually lobbied and ran ads to get it banned. I hope this broadened your understanding. Have a good one.

LesediLoFi 1 year ago
@LesediLoFi Too true! No deaths, no side affects, and there has actually been a study where they found that THC actually has a "anti- tumoral effect".
PrincessRoxi07 1 year ago
@PrincessRoxi07 I wish growers would stop constantly trying to up the THC level while ignoring the other active components. CBD is a natural anti-psychotic and provides a nice (and necessary) balance to the psychotropic effects of the THC. It's good to know that proper research is being done (albeit piece-meal), it's a sign of change to a more open minded society.

CousinSkinny 1 year ago
@CousinSkinny just like to make the point TYT did not do the poll, it was the associated press and CNBC so you really can't hate on TYT for just saying what the survey says. The reason the mentioned under 30 group was the fact more people wanted to legalize it then not to(54% for). Yes a large percentage of the under 50 group wanted to legalize as well but not a majority that is the reason it was not brought up.

The fact that we have begun to treat perpetrators of injustice with such benign tolerance instead of the vicious intolerance they deserve is absolutely detestable. ryan651 1 year ago
@ryan651 heroin and cocaine also have high addiction rates, and are very damaging to ones body, and mind. Don't compare pot to cocaine and heroin becausee they are very different drugs. However, do your fuckin homework because cenk has said on the show that he is in favor of legalizing all drugs for adults because the government should not have control of what one puts into their own body and all that outlawing these substances does is increase gang violence in places like mexico and afghanistan
guitarfishy529 1 year ago
@guitarfishy529 I live in a country with universal healthcare and I don't want to have to pay more to help some prick who got addicted to any drug, we pay enough here for the alcholics and smokers alone
ryan651 1 year ago
@ryan651 but thats the thing, is that dug addicts exist whether drugs are legal or not. so you are paying for them anyway. In fact, if illicit drugs were made legal and were taxed, those tax dollars could be put to health care. So not only would you be paying less in taxes because you wouldnt be paying to keep drug addicts locked up and to fight violent drug dealers. But you'd be paying less to take care of drug addicts because they would be the ones paying more in tax

Remember these two words: medicinal purposes.
vidiot32224 1 year ago
@vidiot32224 I doubt they were after money for pot. That may even be what they said. But pot has no risk for physical dependency. Period. People can become psychological dependent on pot. PS- Pot is illegal in my state. A doctor in Texas cannot prescribe marijuana to a patient, even if they would benefit greatly from it.
But that's beside the point. It's my body, as long as I'm not driving or commiting a crime, who cares what chemicals I put in it? A victimless crime shouldn't be a crime.

Problem is, ppl that are scared of "illegal" things will always turn you do-gooders in. its just a fact of life.
scourgefe1nd 1 year ago
@greshamweed We need those taxes. Badly. I'm from California, and if we had passed Prop 21...like we should have...this huge financial hole we are in would have decreased immensely. Why not tax it? If people compare it to alcohol and cigarettes(which many people do), and those get taxed, shouldn't weed? It is a great source of money for any state, and since most of the U.S. is in the same financial situation California is in, we could all greatly benefit from it's taxation.
PrincessRoxi07 1 year ago
@PrincessRoxi07 You are wrong! None of it should be taxed. Tobacco and weed grow naturally and alcohol is just fermented fruit for God's sake.
Hypocrisy.

Let the Republicans move to Russia if they don't like it. This country will never be a republic. And why Socialism? This is a Democracy. Socialism doesn't belong in the great U.S.A. "Life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness". Freedom. That's Democracy.

Sure a person is health wise better off if they don't smoke, but burgers, energy drinks, cigarettes, and alcohol are legal right? Each of those have more recorded deaths than pot (In that there has yet to be a proven case of pot-caused death).

I totally agree.
Making drugs illegal is like pascal's wager. Would you prefer drugs regulated and taxed by the government? Or by Criminals who are mafiosas, and probably killers who dont give a shit about what happens to you. Those are the people that sell drugs today.
Now...
Which do you prefer? It's a no-friggin-brainer.
Or let's say, the lesser of the two evils.
