Love this piano concerto. What's up with the weird distortion at the start? It's like someone was playing on one of those electric keyboards with, I'm not sure what's called, the dial that makes the pitch of the notes higher and lower, and some idiot went and fiddled with the dial :P
Electrifying as always Jeffrey but that Yamaha is a stinker. Perhaps you should show a bit of temperament and demand a Bosendorfer or Fazioli, a Bluthner would be nice as well! Cheers
is it krystian zimmerman the conducting? or just A zimmerman...haha, lucky u, to work with such a great man, im sure youll achieve greatness, shoot for hte cliburn. ill watch u when they broadcast it online XD
its funny how you look at the conductor to follow the orchestra when it should be the conductor who follows you. Good performance I think you can take it a little slower though
I think you're confused. The pianist should be in charge. It's his SOLO! The conductor barely looks at him! And anyway..from being taught by conductors of the Boston Symphony Orchestra.. I have been told that the orchestra is really in charge. The conductor is just a means of keeping order. Musicians need to listen and work/feed off each other. It is very possible for an ensemble to start and end without a conductor. I prove my point..
the conductor IS the one in charge of ALL musical forces arrayed on the stage and that includes soloists, chorus and orchestra. it is true that there are a tiny number of conductorless ensembles (the orpheus chamber orchestra comes to mind) but they remain the exception, not the rule.

with all due respect, this is utter nonsense!
the conductor IS the one in charge of ALL musical forces arrayed on the stage and that includes soloists, chorus and orchestra. it is true that there are a tiny number of conductorless ensembles (the orpheus chamber orchestra comes to mind) but they remain the exception, not the rule.

I love how everyone in the orchestra is just staring at him like, "WHOA!" You kick some major ass.
