In my opinion this is actually very good for the United States. There is obviously growing tensions between China and the US, especially with China's growing military influence. If India can counter China's military presence, or even contain it, that would give peace of mind to some of us. If India has a stronger presence in the South China Sea then they may even be able to take on some responsibility as a protector of the weaker nations in that area. Although I doubt this is likely.
