  • Always thought the score was good --- never realized the songs could be found!

  • Great vid. Thanks :)

  • The Poets were from Scotland and deserved to be so much more successful than they were. This song is BRILLIANT!

  • I love coupling the groovy garage song with what I imagine is stock footage, one of those moments of incidental genius that I look for in b-movies. Even how as the floodlights come on as the song begins is really cool. FMTSM is one of the finest.

  • just saw the movie Frankenstein Meets the Space Monster and liked the tunes...thanks for posting this song.

  • the shots actually look good in their gritty state.....

  • Andrew Loog Oldham produced them...

  • Only the last couple of singles. Lovely tale of the singer and his Dad being visited by Oldham when George G was sleeping off the previous night's excess. Apparently George was the only artist to tell Oldham to Fuck Off before being signed up!

  • Can't wait for that live film George

  • sorry minijimi ---the hit was 'now we're thru' ---g gallacher ex lead singer --- (i have the only live film of the poets at airdrie town hall 1965 and will post it soon).

  • The poets were from Scotland, their big hit was 'Wooden Spoon'.

  • please!!! i want so much this song... who have it??? please!!

  • great stuff! I just came back from watching the movie and was extremely surprised when this scene came up since I well knew the tune. a part of the song can also be heard at the pool party, before the aliens wreck the place! I loved the film!!

  • this is from frankenstein meets the space monster

  • Yes...I kinda sorta mention that in the video's description to the right.

  • This song was also on the soundtrack last year of the film "Factory Girl" starring Sienna Miller.

  • You can find this and other Poets songs in the compilations The Great British Psychedelic Trip Volumes 1 & 2 (See For Miles), in the Rubble series (Past & Present) and also in the Nuggets II vol. 2 cd(Rhino).
