Stage 4 puts 1048 to the wheels... Both cars have similar power outputs .. similar motor 6 cyl 3.0 3.2. Both cars are sweet, I own a loaded M, and soon HPF cant wait. Nobody ever expects a slick BMW to smoke tricked out vettes. :-)
I believe this was a great race! It's obvious the Supra has more power but the M3 was shifting better and the TQ was picking up on the low end of every shift. Ask me how I know....

Not taking any sides but you also have to consider the Supra was manufactured in Japan under the Gentleman's Agreement, limiting its Horsepower output to 276hp or 280PS. Toyota intended the Supra to handle large amounts of power hence the bulletproof engine block and its robust transmission. Imagine potential high HP Japanese cars if it weren't for the gentleman's agreement ex. NSX, RX7, Supra, Skyline etc... all were detuned and limited to 276 HP.

well, supras trap a little faster stock for stock on average, however i would not call either car fast. my idea of fast is different than yours. low 13's is quick, but mid 12's is fast.

Some of u guys really need to check ur info, & stop assuming. The fact is both cars r monsters. Supras r capable of up to about 800hp w/ stock internals (idk the #s 4 the M3). Both r capable of 1000hp or more while remaining drivable, reliable, and legal. Y hate on 1 or the other? Personally, I'd prefer the Bimmer because of the 3 series' 50-50 weight distribution, and bcuz it's more of a sleeper, but, if I had it my way, I'd get both.
Actually supras internals are good to 22 psi when tuned correctly, but the rear main seal leaks at anything more than 500hp. The e46 m3 will hold 20psi and will make around 1000hp.

You need to consider weight. A BMW is a luxury car with a large amount of extended luxury features. We're talking about heavier materials. Why else do you think cars like SL, CL and S class from Mercedes-Benz weigh so much? As for your Japanese cars, your typical 2JZ engines require bi-turbo to get to those speeds. This aint a plug-and-play benefit. It required maintenance. More than a NA engine. We all know this. Your EVO EB11T engine requires a turbo as well. Without it, 300km/h is a dream.
If you want very fast to get 300km/h buy turbo's not n/a high ccm,cyls cars. I prefer turbo's much than n/a. I know that cars can't live longer but you pay it much less than stock's.

the only m3 thats faster than a stock supra is the brand new e90/e92...which came out exactly 10 years after the supra left the US and 16 years after the mk4 supra came into production.

M3's are not built for straight line, plus the m3 that was racing was a e36, notice the dash. It's a pretty decent race. I still don't see why every bmw owner wants to go fast in a straight line, you buy ///m's for the chasis

The M3 shares most parts with all 3 series. It has bigger brakes, a better engine and not much else is different. I used to have an e36 325i, all parts were compatable

well, supras trap a little faster stock for stock on average, however i would not call either car fast. my idea of fast is different than yours. low 13's is quick, but mid 12's is fast.

Props to both M3 and Supra. But if I had a choice I'd go with the Mk4, and just my opinion I dont think that was 730hp unless that M3 was packin a HUGE turbo. Just my opinion tho.

BTW, the M3 does require forced induction to make those types of #s, and BMW does use forced induction on some of there cars. (Once again, check ur info.)

Some of u guys really need to check ur info, & stop assuming. The fact is both cars r monsters. Supras r capable of up to about 800hp w/ stock internals (idk the #s 4 the M3). Both r capable of 1000hp or more while remaining drivable, reliable, and legal. Y hate on 1 or the other? Personally, I'd prefer the Bimmer because of the 3 series' 50-50 weight distribution, and bcuz it's more of a sleeper, but, if I had it my way, I'd get both.

Actually supras internals are good to 22 psi when tuned correctly, but the rear main seal leaks at anything more than 500hp. The e46 m3 will hold 20psi and will make around 1000hp.

A stock turbo supra runs mid 13's stock and thats at like 350 375hp max. if that supra was crankin 730 at the wheels it would of been long gone regardless of if the bmw had a turbo. 730hp is 730hp whether it comes from an toyota or a bmw. Supra engines are proven, and great, but the bmw straight 6s are no joke either. And the head flow on the bmw's are better; more NA horsepower, more FI potential.

N/A engines are good if they construct japs. If BMW need M3(100k€)(4.0i V8 450hp)to get 300km/h..it's sad. EVO X(50k€) 2.0,I4 330hp(for EU-GB)=300km/h,or Supra 3.0TT,330hp=(300km/h)or maybe H.Integra 1.8(200hp)..250km/h!

You need to consider weight. A BMW is a luxury car with a large amount of extended luxury features. We're talking about heavier materials. Why else do you think cars like SL, CL and S class from Mercedes-Benz weigh so much? As for your Japanese cars, your typical 2JZ engines require bi-turbo to get to those speeds. This aint a plug-and-play benefit. It required maintenance. More than a NA engine. We all know this. Your EVO EB11T engine requires a turbo as well. Without it, 300km/h is a dream.

If you want very fast to get 300km/h buy turbo's not n/a high ccm,cyls cars. I prefer turbo's much than n/a. I know that cars can't live longer but you pay it much less than stock's.
