What is wrong with Obama??? It is so painfully obvious that Clark would have been the best choice. McCain would have had NO chance against an Obama/Clark ticket. Especially since national security is one of the few qualms many voters have with voting for Obama come November. I'll probably vote 3rs party, but would've voted for Obama had Clark been his VP--it would've taken care of my national security concerns.
Barak and anybody is better than McSame who just might pick that agent of a foreign govt ( Lieberman ) to be his VP..Or perhaps that lieing war criminal, Condoleeza Rice..

Before Obama even announced he was running for President, I thought Gore would run and at that time thought that Wesley Clark would be an excellent VP. He looks even better with Obama. He has supreme military credentials, is a former Hillary supporter, from the South (Little Rock, Arkansas), was against going into Iraq and is a good looking guy. Plus he is a former national candidate. Clark is the best choice for VP, hands down.
Clark has been a top 2 or 3 pick for this time and last time around ('04). If he doesn't get VP he should be Secretary of Defense, in which case, I hope Evan Bayh is VP.
I'd say if Clark's auditioning for VP he just passed. That's exactly what a VP candidate does - go on the attack while the Presidential candidate can take the high road. So far he's the only potential VP consideration I've seen rip into McSame. Everybody's so afraid of questioning his national security credentials. This guy isn't nearly as knowledgeable on foreign policy as the GOP and the media claim. Because you have a love affair with war doesn't make you an expert on foreign policy.
One advantage of Clark over Senators Webb and Biden is that Webb and Biden would have to leave the Senate. For Biden to leave would be a huge sacrifice because he is Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Relations. The Dem's majority in the Senate is too slim to be sacrificing their powerful chess pieces.
Clark is also a Clintonite, which makes him a substantial concession/plive branch to the Clinton camp, as well as his legitimate credentials. It makes sense on a lot of levels.
LOL at "oh, here's a Supreme Allied Commander right here." Troof!
Clark might add credibility to Obama's campaign, but he's got limited political experience, and being the Vice President, dealing with the Senate isn't playing to his strong suits. He'd make an excellent Secretary of Defense, but Biden or Hagel or even Webb would be better as VP.
Cenk likes Wesley Clarke, but he supported Hillary. He thought Hillary would make a better Commander in Chief than Obama. Plus, Cenk quotes Gen. Clarke talking about McCain's lack of foreign policy experience, but everything he said can be applied to Obama. Oh SNAP! LOL

Plus, Obama said a few months ago that he knows more about foreign policy than McCain AND Hillary, which is hysterical. Your talking points are hypocritical.
Shoot you got me... Ron Paul would be the ultimate choice for Obama's pick as VP.
Just imagine it. A strict fiscal conservative and constitutionalist paired with a highly intelligent and compassionate social democrat. Damn what a message of diversity!
Proof to the world and more importantly to OURSELVES that we can cast off these hateful shackles of distraction and division and work together in the spirit of compromise to restore our rights and our republic.
Ron Paul and Obama are still at odds on a lot of issues. The right to bear arms is one thing, tax cuts is another. Ron Paul wishes to abolish the federal reserve, Obama's never considered it. Paul is against the formation of the NAU, Obama is a member of the CFR. Paul is a Libertarian, Obama is anything but.
Diversity is good, but these two would bicker and argue more than work as a team. And because they differ so much, Obama probably wouldn't want Ron Paul to succeed him as president.
its just an idea. I know it wont happen. I knew someone would send a reply too and tell me how stupid it is.
Yep it's much better for us to continue to further divide into bickering little clans that hate each other and go to great lengths to vocalize that hatred like dogs barking at each other through a chain link fence.
I never said it was stupid, and I don't think it's a bad idea to have diversity, but if you really think about it, would those two politicians even WANT to work together? Ron Paul already has a bad rep as a conspiracy theorist's choice, Obama would probably reject him just for that. Politicians are all about image, remember.
If you really think the two would work great together, then maybe you haven't thought it through too much.
Well like i said i know it wont happen. it's just an abstraction of thought of what could be if we were'nt so divisive and filled with hatred for others who don't share our exact views.
I feel no one knows how they would work together or even if they would want to BUT something tells me they both might just know a little about the art of compromise given their experiences.
Also would'nt it be great to have someone like Ron Paul who, no matter what your politics, everyone knows wont lie?
Couldn't agree more! Clark would be an ideal VP. He's no dummy. A Rhodes Scholar who can speak Russian. Think of all he's done to help Vets get elected to Congress. Remember, he was for Hillary, but he threw his support behind Obama as soon as Hillary stopped running. What a party unifier he'd be! And our "former" allies love him.
uhhh... Barack is a NYC based CFR member, that if a fact, so is John Edwards and Hill-Dog
everything else, well...I don't know
I think he may have met with the B'Berg group on the night of June 5th, I can't prove he didn't. I'll vote for him though, it's pretty much ALWAYS the lesser evil.....
I read about ALL of this, extensively, but what choice do we have? Sure Ron Paul is great, but he's been marginalized and vilified by the media, media owned by bilderberg. So what other option is there? I think we have a good shot at getting another 9/11 investigation with Obama, and he is a very smart individual. So c'mon on dude, you have to have a SHRED of hope remaining right? I do, and I have read all about NWO CFR...
Clarke is great for the reasons you mentioned -- but I recall he has some gaps in his armor. But for National Security, a sense of maturity and gravitas, to counter McCain's military bragging rights -- Clarke makes sense. Thanks for the insight.
Swaggajee: Right on! It does not hurt that Clark was a Rhodes scholar in economics. He is part of that core of Catholic folks that really care about human rights, poverty, and humanity as more than talking points. He was against the war from the beginning.
One voice stating objective, relevant criticisms about McCain's fabeled "defense" credentials in front of a few people can't compete with thousands of hours of the mainstream media cheerleading for him, creating a perception. Nothing is going to be able to change that perception.
The media won't even cover these statements, or any that contradict their narrative of McCain's UNQUESTIONABLE superiority on foreign policy and defense. The media's agenda operates outside of factual reality.
I've been calling for an Obama/Clarke ticket for the past several months!!!
McSame would be TOTALLY f'd if he had to go against that ticket. McSame's entire campaign is based upon him being the "military guy who can handle Iraq". I'm sorry, but I'd rather listen to a former 4-star General, Rhodes Scholar, and counter-terrorism expert than some brave POW. Call me elitist or whatever but I think Clarke is a lot more knowledgeable than McSame.
imagine if mc cain tried to argue against any of the generals points! although they are both no longer in the forces i believe mc cain would appear insobordinate. This Must Happen!
LOL That's probably true. Clarke would have a certain amount of immunity to attacks because of his military service.
Clarke trumps anything McSame can offer. Does McSame have experience leading troops? Does he have experience with military strategy? Is McSame an expert in counter-terrorism? Was McSame the valedectorian at the Naval Academy? Was McSame a Rhodes Scholar who studied military science? No, no, no, no, and no.
Cenk my friend did you have Wes Clark Jr. sing 'suck my dick" on your show? B4 you give an endorsement for leading VP, you should have mentioned you knew the Clarks. I am not against your analysis but a disclosure was warranted
I've been saying this for MONTHS! Wesley Clark has been speaking out about this illegal war the Bush administration has waged against Iraq for years. He has publically spoken out about the Bush/Cheaney plan to take Sadaam out and implement regime change in that region including countries like Seria and Iran. He is a vary intelligant man who seems like he has a lot of integrity and can be trusted to make honest decisions.
Relax, so have I and a hundred thousand others. Problem is we weren't the majority of people who failed to pay attention while fascism rose in this country.
Clark is a Clinton & AIPAC stooge who wouldn't hesitate for second to attack Iran for the Zionist, Big Oil and the military industrial complex (Wall Street). You say that you want somebody whom you can trust ... US Sen Jim Webb.
I agree that Webb could help carry Applachia and Virginia for that matter but as a Viginian, we need him in he Senate. Its going to be a tough Senate race to replace John Warner, so it too risky to lose another.
Tim Kaine would be a better choice because as a one term limit governor, he can help carry appalachia also. BTW Obama is not Bush, the VP will be a figure head position again,so Clark won't fight for the "Zionist"
What you say is true about the VA senate race, but, to my mind, Webb will have greater appeal to the centrist voter. He has all of Clark's military appeal, plus he's a former Republican AND more of a political star at this time. It would show that Obama can be the 'uniter' that Bush only pretended to be.
Which you and I don't agree with, but will probably help Obama in the race. Whats more important, sticking to our ideals or ending the neo-con military-corporate hegemony of the last 8 years?
General Clark. You make a great case. But the elephant in the room is the Hillary Clinton supporters who expect their woman to fill that slot and who may retaliate in the general election.
I think reports from inside the Clinton camp near the end that talked about how furious she would be if Obama picked a woman aside from her might've killed any chance of there being a different woman on the ticket, like Sibelius from KS, for example.
Also, I think as women find out more about McCain's positions, they're going to have a real hard time bringing themselves to vote for him, no matter how upset they are over Clinton not getting the nom.
The crucial question is, is Wes Clark part of the Clinton-Bush interegnum, or the 2008 40-yeaar party realignment, a cyclical political changing of the guard (under the auspices of the banking elite, in favorable conditions) that happens every 40 years.
I read Wes Clark's article on HuffPo. It's amazing how much sense the man makes when he's on the right side, and doesn't need to (temporarily?) suspend his perfect integrity. I especially love the line about McCain dispespecting the Presidency by evil clowning like a maniacal warmonger.
Wes Clark as VP would be expected to be able to keep Obama from being assassinated from the inside (which is the only way he can possibly be assassinated). If he can protect Obama, that will be to Wes Clark's credit. You know what I'm talking about.
He would be awesome! read through his record and everything seems he has the edge over McCain but we'll see if he'll become vp or get some other top position in Obama's cabinent.
Clark is ok, but Hagel is the guy in my opinion. Military vet, business executive experience, White House experience, experience in presidential campaigning (for Reagan), cross party guy (if he joins), worked well with Obama in Senate. He's certainly not as strong on military as Clark, but he can match McCain and he's more versatile than Clark and more politically experienced. Plus I think the economy is going to be the top issue not the war. But it also depends on who McBush picks.
You're absolutely right on Hagel Vertigate but the problem with him is that he's very good friends with Senator McCain. I find it highly unlikely he would run with Obama. Also, many in the media would question Sen. Hagel's loyalty and it would end up fueling the already vile Republican smear machine.
Clark is a modern-day Eisenhower!! Very intelligent, military leader! Clark was valedictorian of his class at West Point, was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship to the University of Oxford where he obtained a degree in PPE (Philosophy, Politics & Economics), and later graduated from the Command and General Staff College with a master's degree in military science. Come on, why the fuck not??

Wesley Clark is the best choice for VP.
He spoke out against the War in Iraq;
He's a successful retired general;
He's a Clinton supporter.
He's run a presidential campaign;
He's a southern white male.
This is the one ticket the Democrats can cover all the bases with. If that's not enough, watch 'Clark smacks Fox News'.

100 years in Iraq.
John McCain has promised to keep American troops in Iraq for 100 years.
100 years in Iraq.
Richardgwm 3 years ago
I've been saying this for MONTHS! Wesley Clark has been speaking out about this illegal war the Bush administration has waged against Iraq for years. He has publically spoken out about the Bush/Cheaney plan to take Sadaam out and implement regime change in that region including countries like Seria and Iran. He is a vary intelligant man who seems like he has a lot of integrity and can be trusted to make honest decisions.

Relax, so have I and a hundred thousand others. Problem is we weren't the majority of people who failed to pay attention while fascism rose in this country.

Being McCains running mate, is like bidding for the job as second officer, on the Titanic.

I guess neglecting Appalachia is more important.
Clark is a Clinton & AIPAC stooge who wouldn't hesitate for second to attack Iran for the Zionist, Big Oil and the military industrial complex (Wall Street). You say that you want somebody whom you can trust ... US Sen Jim Webb.
Obama/Webb 2008!
dustynbones 3 years ago
I agree that Webb could help carry Applachia and Virginia for that matter but as a Viginian, we need him in he Senate. Its going to be a tough Senate race to replace John Warner, so it too risky to lose another.
Tim Kaine would be a better choice because as a one term limit governor, he can help carry appalachia also. BTW Obama is not Bush, the VP will be a figure head position again,so Clark won't fight for the "Zionist"
flrbase1 3 years ago
What you say is true about the VA senate race, but, to my mind, Webb will have greater appeal to the centrist voter. He has all of Clark's military appeal, plus he's a former Republican AND more of a political star at this time. It would show that Obama can be the 'uniter' that Bush only pretended to be.
eirefrance 3 years ago
Yeah Webb also voted for telecom immunity to spy on americans! He's the total centrist!
subzeromind 3 years ago
Which you and I don't agree with, but will probably help Obama in the race. Whats more important, sticking to our ideals or ending the neo-con military-corporate hegemony of the last 8 years?
eirefrance 3 years ago
General Clark. You make a great case. But the elephant in the room is the Hillary Clinton supporters who expect their woman to fill that slot and who may retaliate in the general election.
michaelrobert1974 3 years ago
I think reports from inside the Clinton camp near the end that talked about how furious she would be if Obama picked a woman aside from her might've killed any chance of there being a different woman on the ticket, like Sibelius from KS, for example.
Also, I think as women find out more about McCain's positions, they're going to have a real hard time bringing themselves to vote for him, no matter how upset they are over Clinton not getting the nom.

I'm a proud resident of Va. I have to admit I'm bias in favor of Webb....bur me likey Clark too.

Hmm...i have to agree Cenk, i 'likey' very much this general Clark.
shayeeX 3 years ago
He should pick Jim Webb, he's the best for the job. Besides his qualifications individually he can bridge the gap with Appalachia.

my pick is biden
but Clark looks really fucking good

The crucial question is, is Wes Clark part of the Clinton-Bush interegnum, or the 2008 40-yeaar party realignment, a cyclical political changing of the guard (under the auspices of the banking elite, in favorable conditions) that happens every 40 years.
Ran.

I read Wes Clark's article on HuffPo. It's amazing how much sense the man makes when he's on the right side, and doesn't need to (temporarily?) suspend his perfect integrity. I especially love the line about McCain dispespecting the Presidency by evil clowning like a maniacal warmonger.
norbu2006 3 years ago
Wes Clark as VP would be expected to be able to keep Obama from being assassinated from the inside (which is the only way he can possibly be assassinated). If he can protect Obama, that will be to Wes Clark's credit. You know what I'm talking about.

The G8 should be be like the G20 or something. Read Foreign Affairs.
norbu2006 3 years ago
He would be awesome! read through his record and everything seems he has the edge over McCain but we'll see if he'll become vp or get some other top position in Obama's cabinent.

Clark is ok, but Hagel is the guy in my opinion. Military vet, business executive experience, White House experience, experience in presidential campaigning (for Reagan), cross party guy (if he joins), worked well with Obama in Senate. He's certainly not as strong on military as Clark, but he can match McCain and he's more versatile than Clark and more politically experienced. Plus I think the economy is going to be the top issue not the war. But it also depends on who McBush picks.
vertigate 3 years ago
You're absolutely right on Hagel Vertigate but the problem with him is that he's very good friends with Senator McCain. I find it highly unlikely he would run with Obama. Also, many in the media would question Sen. Hagel's loyalty and it would end up fueling the already vile Republican smear machine.

Haha definitely take Clark over Clinton.
grapplerke 3 years ago 6
Who wouldn't you take over Clinton?
quixoto 3 years ago 8
Clark is a modern-day Eisenhower!! Very intelligent, military leader! Clark was valedictorian of his class at West Point, was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship to the University of Oxford where he obtained a degree in PPE (Philosophy, Politics & Economics), and later graduated from the Command and General Staff College with a master's degree in military science. Come on, why the fuck not??

That sounds a little TOO good to be true. Shit he would make a FANTASTIC VP time for me to read up some more on him like I did for Webb and Biden

I am on board for Gen Clark and agree with all of your argument.
Draft Clark for VP!!!

Not bad, a general like Wesley Clark but of the current Iraq War instead of Bosnia and Kosovo. Now that's a guy whose opinion is difficult to refute.

Clark would certainly be alot better than Clinton.
