  • What is the finish on your snare drum. I love it.

  • What the fuck are you like Marco minnamonns child? Dude you pretty good keep up the work.

  • love the drumnbassy part at the end =)

perhaps you could have some inspiration from Venetian Snares' breaks, check them out! (i.e: Hajnal)

  • muy buena independencia!! yo tengo un kit rmv como el tuyo.

  • Karalhooo, você manda muito bem, e usa uma batera do meu país uma RMV??... abraços

  • Comment removed

  • 4:35...are those singles or doubles or what on the snare drum?

  • That is one of the best sounding kits I've ever heard. Great playing also.

  • dude u rock

  • muy bien compadre, tecnico preciso y buena bateria, me gustaria verte tocando mas agresivo solamente pero eso es cosa de gusto.

  • Why do you play the pedals without shoes? Is it more easy? Or there are another reason?

  • I find that I have more control without shoes on. I started without shoes so I just got used to it! :-)

  • @jabasto a lot of drummer play without shoes..

  • you rulz!

  • sick

  • what mics do you use ???

  • I'm using one Audix i-5 as an overhead, thats it!

  • Sweet playing as usual Dennis!

  • what brand of evans heads do u use? i only ask because they sound fantastic.

  • how much did all your set cost its amazing!!!!

  • your amazing man

  • it wasn't meshuggah, thinking about bleed?

    different pattern

  • The pattern is called a herta. I don't really listen to Meshuggah, but perhaps they used the same pattern in a song! :-)

  • @SabianAxis its the exact pattern for the entire song of "bleed" by meshuggah. and listen to the stuff off of chaosphere. i think you might appreciate the drumming

  • Your an amazin drumer man

  • can you give me any tips to improve on left foot clave? also, if you havetime, could you watch my video and tell me what you think? any tips would be gladly appreciated.

  • Hi there!

I went about learning the clave pattern by first playing it by itself. I then played it against different hand patterns, such as doubles, paradiddles, flams etc. After this I added the pattern on the right foot!

Try building it up like that, I found it much easier than trying to jump into the whole groove all at once.

  • Does this guy play in any bands? I've watched this video so many times now. It's awesome from start to finish.

  • Thank you so much for watching and complimenting the video! :-) I do not play in any bands, I just play at home as a hobby!

    Thanks again!

  • Tyr for prez

  • holy crap so many pedals! :D awesome solo dude! especially the part starting at 4:00 blew me away

  • Lex would be so proud

  • i relly enjoyed this man :D

  • Amazing. I enjoyed every second :)

  • Great job, AGAIN! But, buy yourself a camera with more FPS! :)

  • Haha, that was so good, it was funny!

    Great job, as always..

  • dennis man! fuck! u neva disappoint! :D

  • Dennis, your ability to nail these perfectly thought out solos is amazing. I love the dynamic build up leading to the explosion at the end. Killer as always!

  • Every video gets to a higher level of excellence! This solo is very refreshing, surprising and creative! Mapex guys have already crapped their pants!

  • 4:08 for the triple hit hat part

  • Waaaw man, at that very moment, I'm amazed, you are so creative ! Your solo has the good length, a good gestion of the intensity, and it's so damn original ! I bet 2$ you'll become famous within a couple of years. At least you already have the potential and the skills !

Good job again Dennis ! You've got one fan in france :D !

  • et moi du québec ;)

  • Are you very rich!??

  • Nope! I've built the kit up over time!

  • sweet!!!! :)

  • The triple hit hat part is the best, the first part have less energy on

  • That is intentional of course! :-) I find solos with a uniform intensity level the whole way through rather tedious to watch. I think it is important to mix up fast and/or loud with soft and quiet playing.

  • i agree on this, but try to don't stop between each "beat"

  • I normally try to connect them together. When I was recording this one, however, I was thinking in movements, as in each section would be it's own part.

  • Excellent, Dennis. My only complaint would be that the clave needs to be more audible. Perhaps you could position a mike a little closer to it. Good luck on the competition - the D-Rod Army will be rooting for you.

  • Thanks Rudy! I would like it louder as well but only one input on my interface is working, thus I'm using one microphone as a mono overhead. It seems to do the trick though!

  • Excellent Dennis!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great independence and improvising,i enjoyed the Minnemann triple hi-hat thing in the end!!!

    Good luck on the competetion!!!!

  • Bravo! There's some really awesome stuff in here, Dennis. I love the ideas you were exploring in the first section with the inverted paradiddle. I wish you would've continued developing them a little longer, actually. I'm always a sucker for an ostinato in 5/16, too. It's a great bed to solo over.

Time for me to go practice!

  • What's the competition for? Good luck Dennis, you're always a great drummer.

  • awesome video yo.. u got solid foot technique, and i dont think i noticed any mistakes.. lol very nice stuff loving the beats, and the volume control adds more to it. very nice. I really like ur set up too.. pretty cool. and the beat at around 4:10 ish is very nice.. kinda drum and bass ish

  • About time we got yet another amazing solo out of you dennis!
