Windows 7 and Sony Vegas are great for sure, but I much prefer other choices. My favorite software is:

#1: Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6). Awesome OS, blows everything else out of the water in my opinion.

#2: Final Cut Pro. Love it.

#3: Safari. I prefer it to any other choice of browser.

I didn't have a backup software choice because it's included in Snow Leopard.

@Connactt I've never had a single problem with Windows 7. Are you sure you're not running it in safe mode? Is the monitor plugged in? Are you over the age of 3? All of these are critical things to take into consideration.

thats not true at all, the dif between vista and 7 is stuff like bluray support not being put on w7, vista was slow because you have pretty much everything on it and w7 is fast because it is comp basic compared to vista, also on most netbook u will get a laptop designed windows 7 with even more things taken away to boost performance such as u cant change ur background properties. yes they luk kinda of the same but are tottally dif.

think of vista as a ultimate o.s

and w7 as a performance o.s

The same can be said of all media players. Current thinking is that VLC currently holds the edge against KMPlayer as it attempts to process unknown formats (of which there are few) in their 'raw' state with a good degree of success =D.

Windows 7 is the best OS from Microsoft, which doesn't say much about it's quality. I use both OS X and Windows 7 on my Mac making it easier for me to alternate when I'm having issues with certain types of software on either OS.

Windows 7 don't let you sort out folders in the order you want ( SORT BY NONE ) Even vista had that ??

Why would they remove such a simple but useful feature? I have hundreds of files & it's a nightmare trying to sort them out in windows 7. XP lets you sort out files/folders in any order you want.

Windows 7 is a fantastic operating system fair enough it has a few issuse with compatibility, Every operating system does, Besides what operating system do you guys know of that does not have these issues and or have resolved them (YET) you have to uderstand there is always room for improvement just like computer hardware its ever evolving, To you as a consumer of the software yes ok its a bit annoying when things dont go your way, Put you're self in there shoes and stand up and say something.

Defraggler is a good defrag tool, AVG Free is also a good secutiry option if you don't wana pay ( and have other free security options e.g. firewall and spyware) OR just delete all your internet files with Ccleaner so the pornz dont steal your money =D

If you're getting the "Windows 7 DCOM Services being terminated, forcing restarts" problem when trying to run a game, you should check out AMD fusion software or something similar that terminates the background services when playing a game. I noticed alot of people getting this problem with windows 7 and games. It worked for me in GTA4 and COD

When it comes to actually operating the programs, it still has alot of flaws. They still carried over alot of the plug and play issues. But I guess thats what happens when you use the same kernel. Its an improvement from vista but VERY far from perfect.

I got 3 computers killed by viruses with BitDefender... At the moment I am using Avira Premium and Personal versions but I just found several malwares and Rootkits on all systems which is quite enough to start looking for a replacement. I am thinking of getting Avast!(i had some negative experience with it but it has changed since then so i'll give it a chance) and Outpost Firewall. Right now my favorite software is Hitman Pro(it is cloud-based btw) which found and extracted all rootkits =D

I bought Windows 7 Ultimate, and I have never been more impressed, it is such a big leap from Vista.

For a web browser I use Google Chrome as its a lighter web browser and runs much more efficiently than internet explorer.
