In Phoenix, Arizona during the summer months, it's not uncommon for people down here to shell out an average of about $300.00 per month to run the house AC 24/7 This Solar Energy is an awesome money saver especially in places where it's hotter than the hubs of hell and costs a fortune to cool the house down.. Middle of July 2011 it was around 89 degrees outside at 12:30am, it felt like a oven, dry heat
Im just getting into solar energy i got solar lights in my house but that's all i know can anyone teach me what other things i can use solar power thank u
I use the AIMS 8k-16k unit t0 power my A/C unit. During the day 1280 watts of solar panels can keep the battery bank charged enough to power my 1,000 wat A/C unit (110VAC). I also use it to power my submersible well pump Also (110VAC). I'm looking at expandinding the sytem to aout 3,200 watts of solar panel and a 4800 amp hour battery bank (12vdcc) I was thinking about using gris tie inverters also, I'll just make sure they're not conected to the battery bank! Glad to see your results.
It is not legal because its not a grid tie system or off the grid. Its called a hodgepodge set up. Anytime you work with electricity you should never cheap out and do things right. Its nice to see he can do it but you should spend the money and wire the house correctly. If you don't have the cash ffor a complete system get a good sized inverter wired into the home electrical system and start off with just a few panels. Add them over time until your goal is met
Okay so the invertors are cheap. But how much do all those solar panels cost? And how long are they good for before you have to replace them?? Inquiring minds want to know.
Search "Cost of installing solar panels – The economics behind solar power" for a concise but detailed discussion of the economics of solar power today. Right now, payback should be in under 11 years, and most likely even less.

for some reason... solar powered A/C sounds oxymoronic.
