This sounds like a jukebox that started by itself in an abandoned dance hall that was once a very popular place in the 50s. Haunting... Still there to remind people but its not what it was. But that's one thing I like about this.
@PersistenceMusic It's on a soundtrack, about the Athens, GA. scene. The documentary was re-issued recently on dvd. There is a vinyl soundtrack, of the doc. However, it was released in 84'-85.' I do know where you can purchase it from-still sealed.
@PersistenceMusic here's the proper title: V/A - Athens, GA-Inside & out.-IRS Records 1985. It's the soundtrack to the film. This label is waaaay defunct, and the Lp, out of print.
@JawboxKoppelganger Nice work my friend! Im gonna dig around to see if i can come across the documentary you speak of. I was like a maniac yesterday looking for"Two Headed Cow" and gave up after 3 hours.
@astar334 Thats because Dexter never had the oppurtunity to sell out or else he would have but in the same respect if you think that Jack sold out you should probably reevaluate every band you've ever listened to because Jack has always been the same since the beginning of the WHITE STRIPES.
i wouldn't say "dexter pisses over jack" in any way shape or form. listening to the duo jets in studio, they're a rockabilly band at their core, jack takes that formula and elaborates upon it tenfold with elements of blues, soul, hard rock, and folk. jack has almost undeniably become a more versatile and exciting guitarist/songwriter than dexter ever was.
Yeah but Dexter pisses all over Jack i'm afraid. I haven't listened to the stripes since i found the duo jets. Its like drinking Jack Daniels all your life, but then you find a 30 year old scotch. You just don't look at the Jack Daniels in the same way again.
@whitestripebuzz You really don't know how hard is the life with one testicle or with ill ones. So don't make such silly jokes. Mine are okay, but I have friends with that kind of problems. It's really unhappy life...

best version of Girl On My Mind. I didn't think anything could beat the Buddy Holly version, but damn.

Jack never sold out, he's just a lot more successful and he doesn't always stick to one sound...

oh, this is very fine!!

But Dex did not sell out like Jack. Listen to Dex to get honest. Listen to Jack to feed the machine.

I would say this is early 90's, not early 80's.

@gregrocks90046 This is definately mid 80's. This was about the time they were on Cutting Edge which went off the air in 87

Don't compare Jack and Dex. Because they are both great, and you cant really compare their styles.
