I don't like how her voice cracks/squeaks. And at times, she sounds like she has a hoarse voice. No hate, just noticing. Sounds like she trying too hard at times.

Better than Gaga for sure. Gaga is not a vocalist or has any techincal ability singing at all, she is artist/entertainer for shock value in her own weird universe. Haley is incredible and powerful singer also great performer and way more hot definitely. Sexy at everthing she does, talking, singing or just standing there.

I like haleys voice and I live that uniqueness in her voice that no other person had in this last season of American idol. But I honestly thought this was a very bold choice that didn't quite make it for her. Even tho I like her voice, I'd rather have lady gaga perform this song any other day
Haley was gutsy enough to pick this track from Born This Way, when it wasn't known and lost out on a place in the final because of it. Considering it's one of the best tracks on GaGa's album and possibly one of her best of all time, Haley had one over on us all. A shout to Jimmy Iovine for all his work on Idol in 2011, I hope he's back for 2012. What a fantastic mentor who really knows his music, and signed GaGa too.
Unfortunately, it was at this point in the show that I realized there was no way they were going to let Haley win. She was the most talented, took the most risks, got the biggest audience (and even judges) reactions, but it became obvious to me that Scottie and Lauren were the ones being pushed to win. They got their wish, but even though I actually liked those two, Haley may end up being the most successful. Time will tell, I guess. Good luck Haley - we love what you do. Keep on doing it!

Many kids half Haley's age that didn't know ANY of the songs presented by the contestants. Nothing against Lauren, but when she sang "Unchained Melody" you know everyone in the audience was waiting for that final high not, and yet Lauren chose not to do it, a bad example of using a popular song that wasn't done better than the original interpreter

I'm calling sabotage... The judges and the producers have been against Haley all season! She made it to the top three on talent ALONE.... She didn't have storylines like Scotty and Borin'Lauren, she was never praised like they were and she was NEVER given a free pass during a poor performance like they were!
I'm a Lady Gaga fan, but honestly I think Haley is the superior vocalist, even on a Lady Gaga song like this. Not dissing her, but Haley's voice is just so unique and soulful and well...perfect.

To think, just a few minutes earlier, Randy was calling James brave for doing a song that not to many people knew. I watched this, and it was almost as if they weren't believing what they were saying at all. It was so obvious that they were pulling it all out of their asses.
Steve said it perfectly in the sense that if you can take an unknown song and make it kick ass then you've got talent. She did an amazing job of this song and I think (as a gaga fan) I can say that most (reasonable) fans would admit that she did it more than justice.
Of course, any non karaoke singer gets booted off this show and the run of the mill win, but I'm sure we'll see Haley with a record deal anyway
Slamming someone for song choice is semi-legit when the choice was too safe, not a good performance, not the right genre, etc. But the critique they gave her about it being bad because it was not popular enough was completed BS and they probably were panicking about what they were going to slam her for. Anyone who says she cannot take criticism should look at this because she is a good sport and completely goes along with what they say even though she didn't even pick the song. Keep rockin Haley
@ohsnapitskitkat her growl irritates me, even with her being my favorite, love her vocal quality range and character, but hates when she growls, it's not really hard for any human to growl like that... Casey was more of a grunter (as a supporter of Casey) it was REALLY bad... Haley needs some vocal training and needs to get out of some of those horribly dreadful habits... she can also get really nasally... but that was in like one performance, that she finished off stongly (as she does)

Congratulations to Haley who got to perform a world premeire of a Lady Gaga song. Coming out with a non released song was greatest idea by Jimmy I. Stephen Tylyer got it right. The other 2 are againt it probably because they didn't come up with the idea. Voted off TOP 3 is not the end, but the beginning of a long career ahead. Best of luck to Haley. I will be in line when her CD is released!!

The reason they hated on her was they knew how her next song was going to be received. they couldn't have the non chosen one to have two great songs in one evening. I was surprised Steven didn't stand up "more" for her. They all definitely dissed this song, Haley handled the crit like a pro. She was starting to get used to their rubbish by then.

Randy's and JLo's critique are so baseless. I'm like 10 years older than Haley, and I've never heard House of the Rising Sun, or Rolling in the Deep. Many kids half Haley's age that didn't know ANY of the songs presented by the contestants. Nothing against Lauren, but when she sang "Unchained Melody" you know everyone in the audience was waiting for that final high not, and yet Lauren chose not to do it, a bad example of using a popular song that wasn't done better than the original interpreter

Steve said it perfectly in the sense that if you can take an unknown song and make it kick ass then you've got talent. She did an amazing job of this song and I think (as a gaga fan) I can say that most (reasonable) fans would admit that she did it more than justice.
Of course, any non karaoke singer gets booted off this show and the run of the mill win, but I'm sure we'll see Haley with a record deal anyway

Slamming someone for song choice is semi-legit when the choice was too safe, not a good performance, not the right genre, etc. But the critique they gave her about it being bad because it was not popular enough was completed BS and they probably were panicking about what they were going to slam her for. Anyone who says she cannot take criticism should look at this because she is a good sport and completely goes along with what they say even though she didn't even pick the song. Keep rockin Haley

Casey was more of a grunter (as a supporter of Casey) it was REALLY bad... Haley needs some vocal training and needs to get out of some of those horribly dreadful habits... she can also get really nasally... but that was in like one performance, that she finished off stongly (as she does)

Congratulations to Haley who got to perform a world premeire of a Lady Gaga song. Coming out with a non released song was greatest idea by Jimmy I. Stephen Tylyer got it right. i just don't get how they could POSSIBLY criticize this, especially without criticizing james' closer to the edge, which he had already sung that night at this point. i can understand (kind of) criticizing the earth song cuz it wasn't her best (although randy went overboard trying to bring her down), but i actually LOVED this! it's one of my favorite performances from her, and I just dont get what it is that the judges are talking about.
