  • I remember seeing these years ago where the Village is now. Great live band.

  • Dave Frew was the guitar player. Saw a banner at Lark in the Park that said "David Frew is a screw" during the show Gerry jumped into the crowd to get the banner and bring it up on stage as it was Daves birthday... great day

  • You're papa was/is a great guitar player.... just so you know.... Listen to him!!!

  • ah there's my papa :)

  • This rocks!!!!!!!

Another one for the Irish.... Whoop whoop!

    Thanks *_*

  • lace virginia... dreams hopes and desire!! eindelijk staat ie er op .

  • 1 of the members teaches at my school

  • What's his name and what does he teach?

  • im at that school too. its dave frew, ive only had him supervise free classes with me im not sure if he teaches... really nice guy tho

  • Great song :)

  • 'all i am' ...what a tune...he has def bruised me more than twice during stage dives! well worth the brain damage though

  • Haven't heard them in 15+ years...Thanks

  • here we are, my mind is at least 12 years ago. Damn the energy, dancing on stage, good music, but the crowed wassnt ready for it yet. Saw them ten times or so, in a pub somewhere in Delft, and Paradiso Amsterdam, but the best where there concerts in Night Town - Rotterdam. Gerard you monkey ! Wake Up !! The world is ready now !!

  • ops, here it is, lace virginia, I saw them in Germany in Frankfurt, fantastic and lightyears away

  • I went to see them at edwards number 8 in birmingham in the 90's and they were amazing. All the people in the room were invited on stage to sing, items were removed from stage, drumsticks, clothes etc . . . I managed to walk away with Gerard Whelans Towel and have it to this day . . . it was an awesome gig! they should have been bigger! shame!

  • I was at their record release show back in '90 at The New Inn, I believe it was called. A wild and great show!

  • They guys were great back in the 90s. I always remember a show i recorded off RTE 2. 7 up's top 7 bands Emotional fish were No.1

  • In Summary - they did a Smash Hits tour (not realising what that meant in the UK - ie. being sell outs and not being taken seriously ever again) and couldn't get a gig to save their lives after that. They were on the verge of Top of the Pops at the time, and it all came tumbling down!!

Most of the band played on an album called 'Gerry Fish and the Mudbug Club - Be Yourself' recently. Check it out if you get a chance...

  • Wasn't it the Radio One "Freequency Tour"? They got a lot of unjustified crap for that! I remember one night in Liverpool the NME rang up and spoke to a member of the bar staff afterwards to create a bogus review! bad review and they hadn't even been there - as you could tell by the non-set list! Harsh!!!

  • Where do you get your info if ye dont mind me asking?

  • What info are you talking about?

This is the band An Emotional Fish. It is the song Lace Virginia. It is recorded for an old RTE Telethon.

  • I remember going to see them at King Tut's in Glasgow around 1990. We thought they would be huge. Whatever happpened to them?

  • with regards to the info about the smash hits tour your saying ruined them... just curious!

  • WOW!!! Thanks for posting this.

  • Seen them in Armagh when I was about 17..round about 1990..pretty deadly, easily the best of upcoming Iish bands at that time ( A House, The 4 of us, Something Happens etc... Good times!!!

  • Yeah i have seen them live in sweden

  • awesome

  • There was no John - Gerry Whelan (Vocals), Enda Wyatt (Bass), Dave Frew (Guitar) and Martin Murphy (Drums)

  • Enda Wyatts real name is John. But he had a very powerfull dream one night and when he woke up he was Enda Wyatt

  • fuckin legends john dave gerard martin..those were the days indeed

  • Ahh those were the days!!! I think I saw them more than any other band. 20+? Great clip!

  • ahh...memories...

  • My mates dad is in dat band! haha

  • Which one? ;-)

  • so's my uncle ;) (Enda)

  • omg hes ur uncle the guitarist is my dad(david)

  • Dave Frew is your dad? Tell him Andy said hello! I used to the Fanzine for them back in the day and travelled up and down the UK watching them / selling t-shirts. Had some great times in UK and Dublin! Great band and amazing memories! Hope he's doing well!

  • Thats class, i saw them in Armagh around about the time of 7 Bands on the up...Ger Whelan was cool, an all the women wanted him...but not as much as me(the women, not me an ger , y'know, he's not my type)..yeh!!!
