I'm kinda depressed there isn't a Miku version, concidering Miku sang the prequel (World is Mine), so it would have fitted her more...though, Nagi did do a good job ^^
U-uhm, wouldn't the 'ooesu faito' part be "Oh yes! Fight!" rather than "Go go! Fight!" Sorry to sound like a bother, this is a grat song~ Thanks for uploading and translating it! <3
On the one hand, there's nothing much wrong with the song, but it seems so shallow. o_o; If it was produced in America and sounded the same, but in English and for here, I'm almost certain the lyrics would find it in as much ridicule as many other shallow songs today. So why is it when Japan produces it, it's considered "cute" and "amazing"?
@strange72191 This and "World is Mine" is catering to fans of the "Tsundere" and "Kuudere" archetypes that are popular in anime. Mostly anime fans tend to listen to JAPANESE songs. So it stands to reason that it would receive a mostly positive response.
Also, not all lyrics have to be DEEP AND MEANINGFUL. A shallow, silly song every now and then never hurt anyone. There are some amazing songs out there with utter nonsense for lyrics. Enjoy the music for the music.
@DerpDerpDerification I do enjoy music for music; I have a handful of Japanese songs that I don't know the English lyrics to, but they evoke powerful imagery when I listen to them. But I had the privilege of reading the English lyrics to this song, and lyrics are a part of the music. You can't just cut out the lyrics and say, "Well, enjoy the rest of the song, but try to tune this part out of your mind."
@DerpDerpDerification And that still doesn't address my point of why it's okay in Japan and not in our own culture. The only analogy you made was between fans of anime also being fans of Japanese music. That's a logical fallacy though, through the word "most" because you're not in a position to make that assumption. I also never said all songs have to be deep and meaningful. You addressed issues that weren't in my question. My question was, and this will have to carry over into one more comment:
@DerpDerpDerification Why are shallow songs in one's own language ridiculed, while the equivalent in another language is considered cute or given some other form of praise instead?
@strange72191 Well, even if one does know the lyrics, there's a sense of detachment from the meaning if they're not fluent in the language. The words one hears and it's meanings don't click immediately and the focus is instead shifted to the voice of the singer and music. Fans of these types of songs tend to react negatively to english covers, since the shallowness is more evident now that they can fully understand what's being said.
I'll admit to being a bit of a snob when it comes to the pop-tuney, shallow songs written in English versus the Japanese ones. I tend to prefer the Japanese ones because the singers sound more real and natural (rather than the auto-tune abuse I tend to hear on the radio here ) and the music behind them appeals to me. Most English songs of this nature sound too repetitive for my tastes.
@DerpDerpDerification I agree on the hatred of auto-tuning, but I thought this was something done with the Vocaloid technology? If that's the case, how is it that this is any more "real" or "natural"? But I will go ahead and make a note that Vocaloid technology sounds better than auto-tuner abuse (although not all auto-tuners are abused).
@strange72191 The supercell album does contain some songs by Miku, but this is not one of them. If you compare this to Miku's voice, you can hear the difference. Just look up the companion song to this (World is Mine). This is a real person.
some people saying how ryo's music is uninspired, formulaic and designed to be commercial should have a listen to this song, its lyrics and the middle jam section (the instrumental). you cant compose this kind of jazz without having musical background! i am a jazz player so i know this.
besides, how fun is this song to listen to, sing and play? haha
Youtube should have more like button.

Not my favorite supercell song. There's just too much bass in this song that its noise to me, I can't make out her words "harkkiri"/clearly.

@XeniLovi The "ooesu" isn't a Japanese equivalent to the English "oh yes" so far as I know. It's just a sort of motivational cheer.

@strange72191 You should probably learn a bit from Khross and enjoy the song's playfulness - oh and of course, Nagi's voice.

Never listen to Ryo's songs ever again during tests.
I was so distracted by the lyrics that I barely finished in time.
Still, Ryo's songs are a great way to kill time. :D
